They called and got a number disconnected message (thank you CallCentric) like all unknown numbers who call me get.  I have nothing to do with the NRA so this is probably an election-time "vote for..." call.  Glad my phone never rang.

Received this call a short time ago, I did not recognize the number, and no one left a message on the answering machine.  Very Annoying!!

I just called the 877-859-3653 back using my sneaky TracFone  ( can't identify the number that way  LOL).
It was a recording from the National Rifle Association wanting to provide updates.

They are NOT the Rifle Association but they ARE National Recovery Agency (collectors).  I know this because I have a dispute with credit card company and it was assigned or whatever to this company

It was George Zimmerman, he told me he really wasn't sorry. He was running for Police Chief, there in Flordia and wanted my vote......

Why is the NRA calling me?  I am registered on the National Do Not Call list.

Mine was bank of america looking for my ex husband.  I called the number uptop of this page for FCO and thats what they told me.  The 877 number never talks just rings all time of day and night and hangs up.

Received phone calls every day this week before 8 AM and at dinnertime.. I don't anwser "unavailable" calls and no message was left. I personally think that auto dialers should be required to display the actual entity name of who owns the number; "Unavailable" should be illegal.

I keep getting calls from them at least 4 times a day or less!  But they call every single day!  I don't answer any numbers either that I don't know!  Let the answering machine pick it up but they won't leave a message!

Kristi, thanks for the info.  Just started getting these calls, even though we are on the do not call list.  Called them today to take me off.  Hope it works.

This isn't scary so much as illegal. When you disconnect from a canned call, the other party has five seconds to do the same and release your line. There is one escape clause in the FCC rule:

"In some areas, you could experience a delay before you can get a dial tone again. Your local telephone company can tell you if there is a delay in your area. "

I've gotten very tired of unwanted calls from the NRA, and I'm not alone. If stopping Agenda 21 is the reason I'm getting all these #&*!$ calls, then I'm writing to my Congressman to support Agenda 21. Don't campaign for something in an offensive way.

BTW, the UN has no enforcement powers. It cannot pass laws. This is true of all international organizations except the European Union. It is basically just a big talk shop, though talking can be useful. Any "law" it passes must be approved by each member nation before it can apply to that nation. Furthermore, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the US has a veto over any major resolution the UN tries to pass. We use that veto frequently.

I don't agree with these incessant phone calls and didn't know it was the NRA until I googled the number and found this forum. I only answer #s I recognize, especially during cocktail hour and dinner. I still won't answer a call during the afore mentioned times but I'm a patron member of the NRA and believe very strongly in the work they do. The NRA has over 4MM members and they are all very passionate in their beliefs and they take those beliefs with them to the polls every election day.That makes us the 2nd most powerful private sector politicol group in the country, right behind AARP. We get a lot of bad press from the liberal media who try to make us look like a bunch of goofs but I know many, many NRA members. They are all good, decent folks. None of them have ever done anything irresponsible or illegal with their firearms. In the early 80s there were only about 6 states that issued concealed carry permits. Now Illinois is the only state without some provision to allow citizens to carry a firearm for protection. The dire predictions of the return of Dodge City never came about and a very small percetage of permits have been revoked for the misuse of a firearm. Remember, no gun ever pulled its own trigger.

Yeah, donnieg.  I've been doing that too.  It's downright peaceful again.  I can then review my incoming calls to see who I need to put on my naughty list this year.  The NRA isn't looking too good right now.  They need to behave.  And, I just signed up with them for another 3 year stint.  I DO love the good looking NRA logo knife they sent though.  I'm still not answering calls I do not recognize.  It's just my rule.  As a matter of fact, it's one of the only rules I have.  <Ho Ho Ho>

This is from the NRA - They have called every day using (so far) 6 different toll free numbers. When I called them back you will get a recorded message about the NRA.

Just got a call from this number on a Saturday afternoon at 2:26 PM.
Only rang twice.
Caller Id just said Toll Free Call.

Here I was taking a nap prior to the LSU-Georgia SEC Championship Game.
