Debt Collector
This is NCO Financial - an awful collection agency.  They constantly break the law in their collection attempts.

I received a call from this number but I did not answer as most 800 numbers are marketing calls.  When I did not answer, I immediately received a call from an "unknown caller" so I took a chance and answered it.  Mistake.  The woman, if in fact it was a woman, had such a heavy indian accent that I could not understand her and she was continuously talking over the top of me. I was eventually able to make out that she was was providing me with a free service-the opportunity to continue my education through continuing education something or other.  I asked her to please remove me from whatever call list she was using because I was not interested.  Her response was she could not remove me and she would continue to call me day and night and never stop.  Funny how her diction suddenly became more clear to understand but by then she had inflammed things to the point that we were yelling at each other. She said that I was illiterate and that if I weren't so illiterate I would be able to understand her, followed by a few other insults.  I hung up. Yes, I gave in to anger but I was totally not prepared for what just happened and I gave in to emotions. I don't think this was a collection agency.

She called again, immediately. I was in such shock that she was actually calling again that naturally I answered.  She continued her insults but this time she called me and illiterate b***h. I told her I was going to report the call and number to the FCC and hung up again.

She called 4 more times and no I did not answer the calls. My phone is now unplugged and no I'm not going to listen to this on an answering machine.

I saw the news reports that explosed the "Final Notice on Factory Warranty" scam and how the calls were not only being made through the internet but that they were using voice changing software.  If this is true, what is stopping them from using tracing software?!!!  Assume for a moment that they are, and let's say they have our number from some calling list. Ok. So if these people can now engage us in an argument and keep us on the phone long enough to trace the calls, they can use this information to steal our identities, etc...

I hope I'm wrong about this but I highly doubt it. Anyone have any similar experiences and if so what did you do?

Got a call from this same #. Recording saying it was a debt and any means to collect would do so, gave some reference numbers,it was a lady, and it was a recording, not a real person. I really feel this is a scam. Called again tonight, phone rang twice and then stopped. No message left. If it was real, person would be real, identify herself, company name, and reference something you would know. SCAM!!!!
