This number is legitimate. I received a call from "card services" several times a day for a while. Each time my dad picked up they wouldn't leave a message. Finally they left a voicemail and gave me this number to call back, saying there was important information regarding my account.

The automated computer system asked me to enter my credit card number and last 4 digits of my SS. I felt comfortable entering the information because caller ID did label the number as JPMorgan Chase. The person who processed my call was very nice and said she noticed I use more than 50% of my credit card balance monthly, even though I pay it off. She asked if I was having any financial difficulties and if I'd like to turn it into a loan instead. I was confused and said....."how am I supposed to take advantage of the rewards program if I don't use your card instead of my debit card?" She said it was company policy to make these calls. Overall it was pleasant and she was trying to turn credit card into loan.

It's a hardship program from Chase, you most likely have a credit card from them and thy are ligit from Chase
If you searched the nimber you problly WILL SEE A BLOG SITE WITH THE FOLLOWING INFO:

Step By Step: How to Beat Chase on Its Minimum Payment Increase
July 20th, 2009 Written by Jordan Goto comments Leave a comment Its July 20 and there are just a few days until your Chase minimum payment skyrockets 250%. After calling the customer service representatives you realize they?re not going to do anything about it, and you?re going broke quickly. But there is one phone number you haven?t tried, because if you had, you?d actually get approved for a lower rate!

Customer Service Doesn?t Help
The first customer service representative probably didn?t help you out all that much. Sure, they apologized for the backwardness of the corporation that hires them but financially you just weren?t gaining any ground. The good news is that the first rep you spoke to isn?t supposed to help you. They?re supposed to tell you to go away, get lost, and don?t come back until you start paying 5% instead of 2%. You need to talk to the right people.

The Right Customer Service Desk
The number on the back of your card won?t do you any good. Remember, that phone line goes straight to the bad guys and we want to talk to the good guys. So here?s the number you want: 877-890-2941 ?that number takes you directly to the people that can help you out. That is the number for Chase Proactive Services.

What To Do, Step By Step
Step 1: Call 877-890-2941

Step 2: Tell the service rep that you were directed to this number for the 2% to 5% increase and would like to take part in the alternative program.

Step 3: Give the customer service representative relevant details about your financial position.

Step 4: Hang on the line, wait for a response, rejoice in the better program.

How the Alternative Program Works
The alternative program is an excellent program, actually it was better than my credit card in the first place. Chase won?t admit it, but their whole goal through the minimum payment increase was to get customers to leave their company. The alternative program requires that you voluntarily close your account in exchange for a 60-month, fixed installment loan, that is paid off at an interest rate of 2%. In my case, with a number of balance transfers at 3.99%, this was one hell of a deal!

Needed Financial Information
You?ll need to give the customer service rep information such as:
Your (after tax) income
Your monthly expenses inluding:
Revolving debt payments (other credit cards)
Installment debt (car loans, mortgage)
Medical bills etc

Not needed:
Utilities, food, etc

The Good News
You?ll get a decision from your customer service rep within seconds, and likely you?ll be approved. Rather than deal with a skyhigh minimum payment, you?ll get a lower monthly payment and a 2% APR that you couldn?t beat anywhere else. Be sure to be friendly to these people, unlike the other CSRs they?re out to make your day a lot brighter

Same thing...got a message from Adrian at Chase Card Services telling me to call 1-877-890-2941.  When I called sounded like a legit generic credit card company asking me to put in my credit card number.  Sounded fishy so I did not enter my number.  Instead I pulled out my credit card and saw the number on the back was different.  Called that number...everything was fine.  Googled this 1-877 number and found this page.  DEFINITELY A SCAM!!! DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER!!! AND MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

They called the house, and my wife would not share information.  I called the number on the credit card (not the one they gave me) and Chase said they were not trying to contact me.

My teen daughter told me that she received a phone call for me and was told to have me call back at 877-890-2941. I did a Google Search on the number and came across this page. I've had numerous calls about my credit cards. Last week, it was from someone who was with a clothing store and he told me to give him the last 4 digits of my SS# (said that I could make up even 4 fake digits!) and he would tell me if I was right or wrong!! I told him no way and I would call the company in the morning and speak with an employee in the Credit Dept. If someone calls me to talk about my bank/credit accounts, I am not so stupid as to give out my personal information over the phone!! I'll call them; they'd better not call me!! (Time for a phone block!)

Received a call from this number stating I made a payment of $300.00 in October but less than minimum payment in November.  She then said I was 140 dollars over my limit and that I made to pay it immediately over the phone.  I do have two chase cards and I did make a 300 dollar payment on one, but not less than minimum on the other.  I also print out my statements every month and keep folders for each card so I pulled it out and said um no, I printed screen on my payments and I made the correct payments and the balances you are giving me are completely incorrect.  She gave me the wrong address as my residence and she also gave the wrong last 4 digits on my card.  She asked for my social, complete card number, mother's maiden name, and she went on and on.  I kept asking her for her name and number and she said there was no way I would get her back because there are so many employees.  That's crap because she probably has an ext.  She gave me (877) 890-2941 and she prompty hung up.  I called Chase and yep, everything is fine.  SCAM!

My son received a call from this number stating they were from "credit card services"... When I asked what this was in regards to the woman with a spanish accent seemed to stumble and say his "Chase credit card"... Since I know my son doesn't have a chase credit card and the fact that he has received similar calls lately from this number asking for his social security number, he will not be returning the call. Definite scam.

My son received a call from this number today. They said it was regarding his circuit city credit card... He said "well I don't have a circuit city credit card",.. The caller then asked for his social security number so he could verify his acct.. Thankfully, my son said "I think I'll pass on that. Bye"... Definitely a scam.

A lady called me saying she was from Chase and I had to pay $ 170 and I ask her call me back the next day. She said that she would not available and I asked her the phone number. Is 1 877 890 2941. I called Chase and they told me nobody called me. She wanted arrange a payment by phone. I did not pay anything. She was really upset because I told her I had to check my bank accounts, she asked me why. Too much curious and also she said she tried to save me 80 bucks. They never use the word "bucks" too colloquial. But she know my expenses and also that I have an bank account in a X bank. Be careful and don't give her any information.
Be safe!
Kind regards
Maria

Received a call from Card Services at this same no.  When calling back they wanted either my acct # or my social security #, neither of which I would give to a stranger on the phone "saying" they are with a credit card co. and have important info.  If it's so important they WILL call back and leave some details!
