I have been in the repo buisness for 15yrs., I have done all kinds of ways of getting in communication with people who's vehicles are up for reposession (whether it was the truth or a lie). You were in the right for contacting your finance company to figure out if the number was legit, however, it was not the repo man who placed the reposession order onto the asset that is to be recovered it was the finance company who had done so.
Your safe bet is to make sure that your payment is made on the asset that seems to be very important in your life so you won't have to post things like this onto the website. Don't get things twisted, I understand how things just happens in life, but it was your word that got you the asset and noone can seriously think that because of the bad luck that has occured gives anyone the right to keep riding around without paying.

Our business received a fax that was offering a free ipad if you placed a large order for ink. We called the number and the guy sounded legit, but after checking with the BBB and looking up this number......... we've determined THIS IS A SCAM! When mentioned that we would have to think about it and call him back............He said, how about I call you back in an hour! Cool! and I am going to tell him that I will be reporting this number to the Federal Trade Commission. btw, He is claiming to be associated with www.bogoinks.com and using the business name Laser Technologies!

This number isn't Ford Motor Credit, no matter what you "former employees" might say. It's a SCAM number. Faxes come through routinely saying to call this number 877-896-8276 to order ink & toner supplies.
Trina 2011-02-22 15:16:10 Unknown
This cannot be Ford Motor Credit as I just received a fax claiming 877-896-8276 as the contact number for our ink & toner suppliers and offering a free ipad. Sounds like SCAM to me.

I got a voicemail for the owner of my company at work (I'm the executive assistant) and the person they were trying to contact through her passed away in 1982. I think it's a sales call.

As a former employee, I can say this is what e-mails from Ford Credit look like. FMC doesn't like using the internet to contact people due to security risks. If they are e-mailing it's because they don't have any good numbers for the customer, or the customer isn't responding to voice mails and even then the account must be in extreme risk of legal action. We only get e-mail addresses in 1 of 3 ways.
1. That e-mail address was listed on the application at the dealership.
2. That e-mail address was used to make a payment on the bill pay website.
3. The customer gave that to us verbally as means of contact.
I can say that, yes, that 877 # is a legitimate FMC #. Is it possible that your company re-issues generic e-mail addresses and you just happen to get an used address from one of our current customers?

I have not had an account with Ford for at least 5 years. Plus, how would they have gotten my work e-mail address? I didn't work at this same company when I paid off the Ford F150 that we used to own. This sounds like a scam to me and I am NOT calling their number back.

I got a call today from a Mrs Ware, at my work number, told my supervisor that she would be at 877 896 7256 till 5PM, I called at 4:45 and no one knew who it was, said I would have to have an Extension for her. Real funny thing is, I never give my work number to anyone, and I don't owe Ford for anything, I have never owned a ford in in he last 40 years.....
joi 2008-03-27 05:18:08 Unknown
Why would they call if I am not late for a pmt, and actually paying it off on Friday. I will never buy another FORD unless I pay cash, pro'lly will not buy one period.
T8ER 2008-02-05 18:45:27 Unknown
This is DEFINITELY Ford Motor Credit. I am a finance manager in Houston and this is the contact number for Ford Credit's Irving(TX) service center. It is in the best interest of anyone with a Ford Motor Credit account to not avoid call from this number.

I received a call for this number. Message was for someone I never heard of. (Norma or Michael Echner)<-- not too sure of the spelling. This was the fourth call that I have had for either of these people. What I will do from now on is file these calls with the appropriate government agency so that they can build a criminal case if necessary.
I'm guessing that this is a collection agency. I'm also guessing that I've run out of patience.

I received a call from this phone number and they said that they were from Ford Motor Company - Fiance. They wanted to REPO my neighbor's F150. All they wanted was for me to call once I saw the truck in the neighborhood. Still trying to find out if this is legit or not.

I got a call from this number. It was a message taken from someone and relayed to me. There was no extension number given.

My brother received a message from this number claiming to be Ford Motor credit. The extention that was given was EXT 11012. I contacted Ford Motor credit to find out if this is a ligitimate number. The real Ford Motor credit did not recognize this number.
