Amy, there is a difference between collection and litigation...

Incidentally I tried calling them on Friday to get and address and fax number to send a cease and desist letter and they refused to give me that info. They harass you repeatedly. they have called me twice at work today even after being told on Friday that they could not do so. If they are scammers as I suspect they are once you send them money they will continue to harass you for more even if you have a payment arrangement worked out with them. That is why it is so important to to know your rights!

@Cee Cee please do not pay them!!! If they are a legitimate collector they must send you notification in writing and give you a chace to dispute the debt. Please research FCDPA online and learn your rights as a debtor. You will find valuable info online. @ T here is someinfo that may help you.

I received a call at my grandmothers house stating that I had to pay 200.00 dollars or I would be charged with. Breach of contract and fraud of a financial institution if I do not pay. She was not keeping up with what she has said the following times. I never received any thing in the mail about this. I can't find anything on this business. Its called Capitol soultions. I don't know what to do. Do I pay them or what do I do....

I just got a call on my cell phone, Michael Black said he is from a Legal Dept about a issue with M&T Bank, I don't have an account with them and haven't for over a year because of outrageous fees and nasty customer service, when I closed out my account it was at a zero balance.  He said they are filing a claim against me in some county that I couldn't understand and that I have been officially notified.  He then called me on my work line and left the same message there too.  I have never received anything in the mail about an M&T account and this is the first I am hearing

They are calling about past due payday loans which depending on what state you live in may be illegal.
