I just got a call from someone with a bad grasp of the English language..
Said I was being given 7K by the US Government in the form of a Grant. Yah right. Haven't applied for any grants & you ain't getting any info from me.. Hung up!

I've been out of work just about 2 wks and started getting calls from this number about 4 or 5 times a day. I am looking for return calls about job interviews, how can I stop this number from dialing into my cell?

Same $7000 talk off. A Steve Watson gave me a 202-657-6729. Weird.....why do people do this. If they would put that much effort into a real job........

I HAVE BEEN RECIEVING PHONE CALLS FROMOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO IT IS AND BE COMPINSATED FOR THE  THIS NUMBER, WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO SUPERVISOR THEY SAID THEY WHERE PUTTING ME ON HOLD, I SAID I AM  HAVING PROBLEMS UNDERSTANDING THE CALLER, AND YET AGAIN THE CALLER HUNGUP THE PHONE  WHEN I ASKED THE CALLER TO REPEAT WHERE AND WHO THEY WHERE CALLING FOR, AND THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL GOVE RNMENT 7000  DOLLARS ,REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENED THE CALLERS ALLWAS HUNG-UP

It seems that every time I get a call from this number, they are speaking like they are from India. Once you answer the call, the system will do a ring back to them and they will pick up the call. They also somehow know my first and last name.

It seems they are trying to let me know that I am eligible for a grant from the government for $7000.00.

Each time I tell them to take me off their call list, but they call be back later. Since this seems to be a relayed call, I am not sure wtf anyone can do to stop them. I tried calling my service provider and they can't block a number that is non-existant.

I have gotten a few calls from this number and I decided to answer..... Well I knew something was up when I was asked if I had a debt or bank card.... I said no lol. I guess they think someone will give them a card number or something... Not to meantion that they gave me a number that is not even from the US.... LMAO

Called promising a 7000 dollars in grant money from US Government. Said her name was Christie John...sounded spanish with minimal grasp of english. Gave me code and the 202 657 5622 number to call.
...This number has called me 5 times since yesterday...I missed the calls...and after the conversation...I started asking questions...like what department do you work in...what is your address in the USA...lady got mad and shouted at me...asking whether I wanted the money or not...!!...LOL. She didnt know any US Addresses off the top of her head...so she mumbled something about Washington DC 201...then she hung up

I am getting the same calls. I just got another and demanded that they stop calling or I will record the call and send it to the FCC. I am expecting employment phone calls and overtime I get that number it really pisses me off.

I just got a call with that number.  I checked the number out on this website.  I never answer the phone with a number i don't recognize.  I heard on our local radio station that there has been weird calls from a person who couldn't talk good english.  The announcer on the radio said it is something to do with payroll.  That was it.  The police are looking into it.

i have beenn getting these calls too from same number but i answer and they ask for me and i ask what they want and they hang up! its getting ridiculous!!

I am receiving calls daily from this number. No one answers or speaks. It just hangs up. I try to call it back but in is invalid.

Ops..I've been getting these calls since last week!! a lady says she is from US govt and said i won 7000$, before  I could ask why am receiving the money, she hung up!! very fishy..she got my name and phone num right..is it a credit fraud? any bank funds loss ??

Not just an iPhone. I have a crappy lil' Boost Mobile motorola and I got 2 calls just today.

This number 887-777-7888 has been calling my phone several times a day for the past week. Normally I don't answer, so I decided to answer just to see who it was. When I picked up I heard the other line hang up. I will be calling Sprint in the morning to get a block. Funny thing is that a couple of my friends have been receiving these calls and they all have iPhones. I hope this isn't a iPhone thing.

This people will not stop calling me what i do to make them stop calling me they call me all day while im at work and it gets very aggravating

I've been getting calls from this number for a few days now - it's clearly a scam, but they're not smart enough to actually stop calling me.

I'm continuously getting calls from this place on my cell phone! I've never answered it though. they leave messages that say nothing.  

How do I stop these? Should I change my number?

I got this call yesterday and they said they were from the US government some department (couldn't hear as the connection was very poor and the english was broken. I received a call again today and I told him not to call anymore and if he would I would report the scam and hung up. This guy called me from a blocked number and started cussing and making racist remark. I hung up and he tried calling 3 more times after that.
Beware!!!!

I've had 3 calls in 2 days on my cell.  When you answer it rings back to someone.  I hung up then and didn't talk to anyone.  Thanks everyone for the information.

Also keep getting called by this number. After the dial tone, they keep hanging up. Very fishy!

This number also called my cell. Male voice, poor english, claiming to be from the federal government. Said I was eligible for $7000 because I had good credit, no criminal record, etc.He gave me a case number and a phone number to call, 202-621-0067. Could not make out much more and when I questioned him, the call disconnected. Called that number back and got a female, lots of background noise, and she also had very bad English,(could not understand her). I asked her if she worked for the us government and she said yes. She asked for a case number which I gave to her and then she hung up. Yes, beware!

I received the same call today. I agree that they are up to no good. The guy spoke very poor english as well and claimed to be from the US Government. He tried to indicate to me that I had claimed bankruptcy, which I have not (ever) and he seemed to be trying to get me to answer "yes" to some of his questions, which I wouldn't do. I told him not to call here ever again and hung up. I am on the "National Do Not Call" registry so I don't know how these telemarketers (if that's what they really are) are getting my phone number. BEWARE!!

Just got a call from that number as well. Same story as Clayton and others described. It's a jungle out there, folks - as everybody has said, be careful!

sick of these calls  everyday for a week now

I've been getting calls from this number also, (started 2 months ago) says he's from Wash. DC and has a free Grant.
I think these calls are coming from the temp. agency(s), because I'm looking for a job.
Asian male, calls about 2 or 3 times a day.  But yesterday was different, caller Asian (again)
said that is from Wash.DC, and that he's a terrorist and he's coming over to talk to me, knows
what city, state, etc. Talked to our cell phone carrier, called was originated in Mexico.
So, be careful.

I started getting calls from this number last week and they call a few times a day.  US Grant Department.  The first call I actually listened to what he had to say.  I've ignored most but answered again today and tried to cut straight to the point and asked what he needed from me to get the money.  He promptly hung up.  Total Scam!  Verizon Wireless allows for a 90 day block on numbers at no charge so I guess I won't hear from them until August.
