They Keep calling, these are harassing & annoying. Stop calling my number.

As unfortunate as it is, you can't just tell them to stop calling and they have to listen. You have to tell them IN WRITING. You can do one of several things depending on how comfortable you are about the potential of getting sued.

If this is the first them a collector has contacted you from this company, you should demand a written statement of account. It may not be satisfactory, but they have to get it to you within 5 days of initial contact (See 15 U.S.C. 1692g(a)).

From there, the letter should have some language about your right to validation of the debt, it will say you have 30 days from the receipt of the letter, as mandated by 1692g(a).

At that point, you can send them a letter requesting validation of the debt per 1692g(b).
They have to provide you a written form of validation before they can continue to collect.

If you just want the calls to stop completely, send them a cease and desist letter under 1692c(b) and they have to, by law stop contacting you (barring one final communication to express their intent). Be warned though, a cease and desist may backfire and lead to a quick lawsuit if the debt is significant enough.

I get these calls everyday, all day and when I press the option to speak to someone, I sit on hold for over a long duration and then the line disconnects.  When I call the number back, NO ONE answers the phone and I've left NUMEROUS messages to let them know that they have the wrong number and to stop calling and harassing me.  Who, what, where is this number going to and why can't you EVER speak to anyone?

I am in TN and I have told them the debt isn't mine.  I have requested documentation and they say their client is working on it. They have information pertaining to me incorrect.  I am aware of someone using my information before and I told them that.  They are jerks and now I have to go to court on Monday without them having proof this is my account.  Please someone help!

This is Hosto & Buchan debt collector law firm. They are a**les! Just tell them you are disputing the validity of the debt and you want proof you owe this.
They file all sorts of court papers improperly and are usually scamming the system just to collect anything.  They tried to collect $5k from my husband b/c his drunken ex lost her car!!  
If you ignore them they will send papers out saying you have to appear in court. It's usually ALL a bluff, call them on it!  In AR medical debt is  not collectible after 2 yrs from service or last pymt.

I wish the #888-200-9244 be blocked or banned from calling my residence 15-20 times per week and on Sunday as well. Its very annoying and harrassing. Hope someone can eliminate this problem for me.

File chapter 7 and this stops them cold in their tracks and they dont get to sell this debt to themselves anymore for multiple government right-offs as they do if they keep turning it over to their own collection companies.Most unsecured debit is for multiple write-offs regardless if they collect from you or not.They also get  or got most of the bailout dollars.Collection agencies are the underthugs of the banks anyway.FILE CHAPTER 7 AND STOP THEM.You can still buys cars and all the necesities you need.

My phone company offers a program where you hit *62 and it takes you thru the steps to add that number to a do not allow call list and it will stop it.Ask your phone company

8882009244 - they call me every day too - when I call them they want me to make payments on a 10,000 Ford Motor Credit Loan. DO NOT IGNORE them - thy sued me and have a lien against future income and WILL Garnish your wages.

1) record and document # of calls
2) answer and document each call
3) make a settlement agreement prior to a lawsuit (I did not have a job or unemployment so I never called them to do that - and they sued me)
4) they are NOT going away!! believe me - it is my 2nd year of them telephoning me

Calls every day!  It is very annoying and when you answer you get a recording that says they are trying to get in touch with someone other than me. If you try to transfer to a person to tell them to leave you alone, you sit on hold for a long time. If you call back the number you also get put on hold for a long time.  I am trying to to figure out how to block the phone number from being able to call my number.
