I haven't used ebay or paypal in many years, plus this phone is brand new and I've not given the number out anywhere.

I went online to check my account and there is no balance due or any issues stated on the site.

I'll have to call them.  Wondering if the person who had this number before me is the one they are calling for.

Yeah they have been calling me too. The thing about it is that I had paid eBay but apparently the message did not get through to IC Systems who is the collection agency calling from this number. Just ignore them and they will go away like all debt collectors.

I got a letter from I C Systems that appears to be fraud stating I owe a balance to ebay.  Yet the address for I C Cystems on the letter is wrong.  Also the phone number for Ebay is wrong.  And the address for ebay is wrong.

Parasites...the best word to describe them...by the time they call you, they have ALREADY SCREWED UP YOUR CREDIT REPORT. There is no incentive whatsoever to EVER pay them and should you choose to, send the money to ebay not them. When the phone rings hit ON then immediately hit OFF. Why would you EVER trust them to not screw up your credit when they have already lied to you claiming they will call the police, they will report you as non pay because you choose to pay via your method...not theirs, etc, etc, etc

They will not sue you for amounts less than $10,000 and if they do sue you for some amount, then DO NOT HIRE AN ATTORNEY...respond yourself in a manner that causes their attorney to rack up the maximum legal bill such as send them a subpoena for interrogatories and deposition. They will go away because if anyone understands the power of harassment, these parasites do!

I owe paypal just under 5000 right now, had my account for almost 2 years, perfect record with over 100 feedbacks, then had my mail lady or whoever worked for her on her normal route, disappear with my gift card shipments out my mailbox. Spoke to giftcard stores, because I didn't scratch cards I can't even supply them with the #'s, not to mention they said the buyer using the card would have been protected anyway and I wouldn't be able to get any info. So now paypal refunded all buyers and I'm liable for the 5000. I can't afford to pay this back, the money was used for moving expenses and my kids. Has anyone else owed them this much or know for fact how this would be handled? I'm worried about them trying to sue me or say I did this on purpose and pursue it criminally as fraud or something outrageous like that?

The Do Not Call list does not stop companies who have legitimate business with you, from calling you.
It only stops telemarketers and sales calls. If you owe someone money they can call you for if they sell your debt to a collection agency, then the collection agency can call you.

eBay IS trash... period. They allow a 12 y/o to bid nearly $1000 on an auction, but when they cannot pay (of course) and do not respond to the request to cancel the "sale", I have to pay them for f**king up? I spent MONTHS trying to get them to speak to me on the telephone (what a novel idea that is!!) yet they absolutely refused "because (they) are an online company" and nothing has been resolved. Oh the irony.... they refuse to speak to me on the telephone, but they have some jack a***s from NH call me constantly.

Not only that, to the man that says "cry"... Ebay/Paypal are so busy ripping people off thousands of dollars out of their accounts over time, that they in fact would end up being the ones that owe money to the very people they harass.. This is a FACT... They are a scam... they steal all the time. They have actually taken money from many sellers accounts, even power sellers. I know one seller that had small debits of 30 here and 50 there but didnt notice them at first and this went on a while and due to the seller having a large bank account, when it did finally get noticed, the only evidence of who did it was with some type of Asian character figures in the line showing who debited them, BUT they hired a PI and investigated it.. It was NOT an Asian Company, it ended up getting traced back to NONE other then San Jose California.. Ebay... Yuppers... They stole thousands of dollars... That's only one story.. there are thousands of seller writing their nightmare stories.. also buyers too.. So before you tell someone to cry, get a life and grip on reality would you. I suppose you may be one who works for them watching the blogs, if so let them know that many of us know the truth about them.

I have a collection account with Paypal and Ebay.. Have had it for over a year.  It was bc someone filed a claim with ebay and i won then filed it again with paypal and i lost... Its been through three collection agencies.. Collect America, NCO Financial and now this one... all you have to do is write them a letter and send it certified mail saying that you only want to be contacted via written mail or not at all...  Everytime i receive a letter back from the collection agency saying my account is closed through them and to contact ebay or paypal directly... it shuts them up for a few months then ebay/paypal send it somewhere else so i mail another letter... I owe them a little over $100.. the certified mail will probably eventually add up to that but its the principle behind it for me... all a buyer has to do if they lose a case is change it and tell the other (ex paypal or ebay) that they never received the item and they will win it through the "other"

I have never seen them show up on my credit report... Just dont talk to them and dont give them any info like SS # Birthday, ID # or anything else that can give them access to your report...

It cost them money to send it to collection agencies so they will eventually stop.. and the collection agency wont go any futher after the letter usually..

they way they work is to scare the few into paying that will.. they wont sue.. let me take that back, they wont sue you over 500, 1,000 or probably even $5,000.. they may but its rare.. they work on commission thats why they CALL AND CALL AND CALL and scare... if they see you aren't falling for it via the letter they will back off and in my case just close the account out in their agency

If you are able to get an address for the outfit calling you send a certified Cease and Desist letter.  Once they do receive the letter the FTC and State attorney generals office can fine them up to $1000 if they continue.
Just look up the information on this kind of letter online.

To those of you who say this number will stop calling: They have been calling me for almost a year now. It's getting ridiculous.

Has anyone else had this happen with ebay?: I had my account hacked last year, password changed, and a $4000 item sold on the account. I was informed of this when Paypal called me regarding the deposit for such a large amount into my Paypal account. When I told them I had no idea what they were talking about, they told me to call ebay and cancel the account, which I proceeded to do. Thought this would be the end of it. But then I received a bill from ebay for the closed account for an amount of $90-some-odd-dollars, which I assumed to be a listing fee for a $4000 item. I refused to pay this, but had no way of contacting ebay regarding this, aside from the numerous departments I get bumped around to through e-mail. Since August, I have been disputing this, and finally was able to convince them to re-instate my current account (which was closed for being associated with the closed account with supposed unpaid fees) when I threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau regarding their horrendous customer service. My account was re-instated within hours of this e-mail, after nearly a year of fighting them.

However, I am still receiving calls from this number, with recordings for me to call 1-888-229-8848. I feel this is a nightmare that will never end.

I also received a call from them, I am disputing an ebay charge.  Here is the thing, I doubt whether e-bay has enough information to actually get something filed on your credit report.  Usually a social security number is required, and I went through their registration again using a fake name, not only was this incredible easy, I also was not required to give a social, so frankly I think they are bluffing.  If they did have enough info, I would pay right away as the cost of that knock on your credit report can be very high.  So, has anyone actually had an ebay collection show up on your credit report, if so I really need to know.

You need to tell them that their information is incorrect and that they need to take you off of their calling list... If they don't do this it is considered harassment.
