Hello, you seem to know alot about NCO, my mom had a credit card with Bank of America, with about $12,000 on it. she made payments always on time until they put her payments up over $400 a month, so she had to stop. Thats when FIA Cards services started in on her. Rude people calling non-stop. Now she has had a judgement put on her land, and the late fees have jumped her new total to over $30,000. She just got served papers that said she has 20 days to make the payment, or the land will be sold to pay the debt. Also, this is the best part, my mom, my 85 year old grandmother, and my dad who had a stroke last year and is paralized on one side, will all be thrown out and homeless. Over a credit card debt. Is this still america? I also called bank of America, and FIA to explain the situation, and they said our account was sold to NCO, and we have never even heard of them, or have their name on anything ever sent to our mom. does anyone have any advice, this seems to be happening all over. Didnt Bank of America get a huge Bail out. who is there to help us, this seems unreal. Gary Lane - gary21404@yahoo.com

Got a call at work indicating I owed $110 on a credit card from last month and if I paid by debit card over the phone they would waive late fee.  Called my wife because the account indicated should be closed with no balance as of July.  Wife confirmed account was closed and tried to call the 1-888-243-6262 I was given.  Got a message that the office was closed and I should make my payment on ezpayments.com.  TOTAL SCAM!!!

I called them back and got through easily.  They said they were Bank of America Card Services and that I needed to pay my overdue account.  I asked which one, she told me, I said "ok thank you, I will hang up with you and pay it online through my online banking program."  She said thank you and hung up.

I guess I got lucky!  I had alerts set up to remind me to pay this card and for whatever reason, they stopped working.  I reset them and all is well.

Call was from "Barbara Newton" with "Card Services"; it was the "existing business relationship that you have with us" line.  The total lack of context offered, of course, set-off alarm bells in my head.

The number they left in the message was 888-243-6262, but the originating # recorded on my voicemail was 469-201-4312.  For whatever it's worth, according to my iPhone, that area code & exchange (467-201-xxxx) is for Dallas, TX.

All of the accounts I have for which there's any reason to be talking to someone have already contacted me separately.  I have no intention of returning the call.

Got a call at work from number 469-201-4312 & Caller ID said "Card Services". They asked for my boss by name, who is the business owner. I screen his calls, and always tell people like this that he's busy & will call them back. The callback number she left was 888-243-6262 & said that it was the Bank of America customer service number. I checked the BofA website & did NOT find this number listed for credit card-related customer service.
ALWAYS check for the company's publicly listed phone numbers! If the call is for a legitimate problem, they will be able to route you to the correct department.

"Steve" from "Bankcard Services"    asked me to call 888-243-6262 regarding an 'existing business relationship'
I don't have an existing relationship with a company called "Bankcard Services"....although it's probably another credit card company calling themselves that.

Sorry Steve, if you would mention the bank's name holding the credit card, I might have an idea what you're referring to.  But since you didn't, I won't be calling you back.  I hope you understand.

said they were 'FIA card services'.  Seem to be loosely associated to b of america, although it cannot be very closely - I'm currently a victim of ID theft and this # called me, 'in reference to one of my accounts', and asked for my last 4 digits of my soc# - if they were actually on the bank of america computers there's no way they'd have called expecting I'm going to give soc#'s to a "no caller ID" line (the 888# is the one they left on my voicemail).

*also* note that the call operators here are rude, not that that isn't expected, but further that they will NOT let you get to a supervisor, go ahead and try to prove that wrong, if you can get a supervisor on the line I owe you lunch :).  I even called back to ask for a supervisor, got another receptionist who gave me a *different* reason (a meeting this time..) why a supervisor couldn't be accessed!!
