The previous message saying it is true and he settled is a scam. The newest scam craze is for the scammers to go on these websites and confirm that everything is true. No lawyer (that wants to keep his license) is going to advise a client to give out SNN, banking or any other personally identifying information to a random person over the phone. If 20 people say its a scam...trust that it is. The one dissenter is probable the perpetrator of the scam itself.

You did the right thing they are professional scammers, they are collecting on  magazine suscriptions that they probally tricked you into signing up with many years ago. There is no firm. There are no contracts and there are no tape recorded promises.They change their names frequently so its always a dead end when they are sought.. I hope noone gives them any money

This lady just called my phone earlier today and It sounded suspicious claming that she was prepared to file a civil case against me but did not mention why or who she represented claimed her name was caseyshaw. When I called back with questions I got no answer.

they're calling from a hair salon in buffalo new York, so If you want to file a law suit go for it I'm behind you all the way because i will be doing the same.

I received a voice mail from 888-243-6569 from a person named christina walker-who sounded like a man-saying h/she worked for a legal mediation group. I was to contact him/her ASAP with a Ref number to avoid a lay suite. When my husband call the number the man/woman became angry and yelled at my husband when my husband would not provide a new credit card number for a "magazine account" from 2004! My husband requested a fax proving what this case was about. Almost an hr later the fax came. My husband google the address and it turns out their are complaints going back as far as 2008 for this phone number. On some complaints, the person is ref to as a man, some as a woman. But most use the same name.

Funny thing they called my mom asking for me left a case number called them back they never answer if they are calling about magazines I've never applied or ordered any what a scam.

Yep, I had the same phone call from "Jen Robinson of Legal Services" last week. Their tactics have obviously improved, since she was very polite and acted very much on MY side of the issue. Clever stuff. Something about the paperwork they sent was fishy, and I know for sure that no such debt exists, so I Googled every name and phone number they gave me. SO glad I did, and thanks to everyone for posting your stories.

FYI, a different person than Jen actually emailed me the documents. They came from "Dawn Robbins" and the email address domain was "@mlh-online.com". If you Google mlh-online.com, all you'll find is a blank Wordpress site. Scammers are some of the lowest scum of society.

As for the people posting that we "losers" should just suck it up and pay, it's obvious they're in on the scam and afraid that we've caught onto them.

I got the same thing but the lady said her name was Kate Shaw. Googled the number and saw it's a scam. I will not answer or return their call. These people are crazy!

Just got this same call from Jennifer Robinson from Legal Services saying that I owed them money from North American Readers- Magazine Company. I told her to email the information that she is stating!! I googled the number 888-243-6571 and this came up. She just got me all upset and this is all a scam!!

I got the same call from "Jen Robinson' with  the same info - I owed money for a magazine subscription, etc.  Of course, I don't.  She was actually very nice and polite to me when she found out she had the 'wrong' person. Of course, that might have to do with my husband being an officer in the US Army and I told her I had access to the JAG office and lawyers. Funny... I haven't heard from her since.

These people have been calling me, and going as far as calling me at 6 in the morning, as for all the people who post on here saying this is legit, it's not. Don't believe a word of what these people say, they are scammers trying to get your money. Jen Robinson called me and informed me that I owe North American Readers Service some money. I tried to get info on her "business". All she told me was that the name of her business was Legal Services. Whenever I tried getting information, they would become very defensive and hang up. They threaten with lawsuits and taking you to court. If they were legit, they wouldn't be able to threaten with such things, and they definitely wouldn't be calling you 5 or 6 times a day. Jen Robinson's "boss" Maggie Lawson gave me a fake court docket number and supposed case number. I called the small claims court in Buffalo, NY and they've never heard of a Maggie Lawson or Jen Robinson, and the lady from small claims in Buffalo says that she's very familiar with who comes and goes in there. The business is fake, the numbers are bullsh** and they're just trying to scare you. Don't buy in to it.

I received a phone message from this "Jen Robinson" on late Friday afternoon saying that I needed to contact "Legal Services" ASAP!!  Also leaving a case ID #.  So of course I returned her call and she stated that I had over $1ooo.oo of fee's I owed a magazine company that I signed a so called contract with dating back to 2005 when I was still in high school and that she would take a settlement of $250 over the phone so my case would not be taken to the next level!!! I told her she was mistaken because there was no way I would of signed a contract for magazines and I hung up. I started looking up this so called "Legal Services" and here I am!!!  So today I received another call from "Legal Services" stating this person was from there investigative team, so I kept asking what "Legal Services" do you represent? and needless to say she got pissy and raised her voice so I hung up on her! Once again she called back trying to get the last word and I just hung up on her....come on...."Get a Real Job" and stop trying to get free $$$$ ..

i got a call today from "Jen Robinson" say i had a lawsuit against me and i needed to contact here asap! so when i got home from have a lovely dinner with my lovely husband, i look this court case up and the number and here i am!!!! i knew it was a scam!!!!

My mother received a call from this "Jen Robinson" stating that she would be summonsed to Buffalo New York if she didn't prove she'd paid some "debt"she sapposable owed. Well I called our local police department and Buffalo New Yorks Police Department and was told that this is a SCAM and to blow an airhorn or whistle in her ear the next time she calls my mother.

Got a call from Jen Robinson on 1/06/2012 looking for my brother who doesn't live with me. I took down her info, she is available M-F 9-5 EST. Said he has a civil lawsuit against him and if he calls she can help him out.  Same crap last year only those people all had Indian accents and said he owed money for a past debt. I was so tired of the calls last year (also for my brother) I actually contacted an attorney & the FBI.  They said the calls are from a group of people who are simply scammers & that as soon as they locate where they are operating from, they move on.  I say just do & say whatever you want to the low lifes. I am looking foward to flushing the toilet on them next time they call!

I recieved a phone call from this number but the lady's name is Jen Robinson. I googled her. Her voice message was that I need to call her before 5 pacific eastern time to avoid a lawsuit she wants to go through on me. This seemed fishy but I did leave her a message for her to call me back and left my 2 contact numbers.

Let me correct myself.....the sherriff does serve a summons for court, and that's it.  They can't take you to jail.  This is what they threatened me with over the summer that they would send the sherriff and have me sent to jail.

I just got a call on my cell today from a Jen Robinson.  These people have been harrassing me off and on since July 2011.  They've called my parents and threatened them as well.  It IS a scam and everything they threaten you with is illegal.  The docket #'s they give are junk...if it was a real docket # it would start with CV-then numbers.  CV stands for Civil, which is where a small claims case would be settled.  They cannot threaten to serve you papers via sherrif, they can NOT threaten to garnish your wages, etc.  

These are PURE scare tactics and every single one of them illegal!  DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

We got a call from the same number on 11-07-2011. They gave the name June Robinson and a case file number. It was very upsetting. We tried calling and only got a voice message. Than called back and tried talking to her. She was very disogranized and ask for a number to call back. Not knowing what better to do we gave them a number and now realized we shouldn´t have. She said she would call back when gets all the information transferred from paper to computer. That did not saound right, so I looked up the number and this is what I found. A lot of the post were older. I guess they stopped for awhile, but now they are back at it. As hard as as times are right now, it is very wrong what they are doing. Thank you to those who have posted before.

i received a phone call 203-717-4003 (hispanic) saying they were calling about a lawsuit and he was going to transfer me to someome that could explain it, but he could not and he was an attorney office. He is the attorney who else was he going to connect me to, Mind you I never got mail or anything. I do have any outstanding bills either.  When I called back I told him this was a scam and he blocked my number. I called back on my cell phone and daughter phone and he blocked my number.  He said I called his office a scam and he did not want to talk to me about the lawsuit.  He got very angry.

So if you never got a phone call....can you tell us why you are even reading these posts??? Could it be that you are one of the people from "Legal Services" trying to make people think this is valid. Who is the idiot here? I pay my bills and have NO debt whatsoever, and I am still getting accused of not paying and being threatened with a lawsuit. THAT is how I know it isn't real. These people (and probably you) are just trying to steal from innocent people. Ridiculous!!!

I got the same thing yesterday when I got home from work...from  a Jen Robinson. I called back and of course there was no answer....This is the second time they have tried this scam on me and I personally can not wait until they call back. I know this debt is not valid and I have all the proof I need. Not to mention that I work for an attorney and I know how REAL lawsuits work. I'm going to have fun with this one.

I do feel bad for those that were scammed out of their money. It almost happened to me 3 years ago. I sent a check and everything... of course I put a stop payment on the check once I realized it was a scam, but not everyone is so lucky.

I think people should ignore the comments above on how "valid" and "legit" this whole thing is because I am sure they were posted by our dear friends "Christina Walker, Jen Robinson, Carol Kline...etc" Just another way to make people who suspect a scam feel just the tiniest bit skeptical.

I will be turning them in to the FTC, BBB, and the Secretary of State. There has to be some way to stop this and this time, I'm not giving up until it does!!

Got a call the last two days with "pending litagation lawsuit from a Jen Robinson. Same story, just ignored it. probably a craigslist thing as I have been trying to apply for jobs. I don't take anything seriously until I get it in writing.

Not only Christine Walker, but now Nichole Williams is calling from Williams Legal Service with this #8882436571.  These people are rude, crude and socially unacceptable!

I just got a message to call 1-888-243-6571 Nicole Williams with Williams Legal Services immediately with a docket # regarding a lawsuit. I called and left a message stating I didn't know what the hell she was talking about and she had the wrong Mary.

yes this crazy woman xlled for my husband yesterday, saying this was a magazine subscription from 2002 and that they are pursuing lit if we dont pay. i laughed at her an again asked her what year is this from, she said 2002. i laughed again, i asked her to hold on and she hung up. then today 7.20.11 i get a cll from a ms lawson, who i advised to her not to call my numb any lomger, that this supposed bill is from 2002 and we are in 2011 going into 2012, i advised her that the statue of limitations is longer good on this bill, she then proceeded to try and yell at me, when i stayed completly calm she tried telling me this is what she has to say and i'm going to listen to her, i then told her i too work for a "collection agency" and to not call me again and to have a GREAT day.

We got the same calls from Seth Goldstein.  My husband never received any magazines either.  They have my husband's ss # as well.  What have you done about it?
