Look up Empowering Consumers Protecting Privacy!  These people can not be calling you harrassing you at work, home, or even on your phone.  They need to send you a letter if they have a case...but really they can't do that either...they need to explain to you what the situation is on what they are calling you for.  I wouldn't pay attention to those lawsuit letters...you have to make sure theyre legit! you!

They constantly calling for someone else on my phone n they want me to give them info on my cell which i have no bearing to!  Really these people act like they are a law firm n really they're not.  They are telemarketing n they think they can call n harrass people.

Ask them , what state are they located in. They will have to be register with state of Texas to do business. ask them to send you a letter stating the payday loan company has turn the loan papers over to them.  Once you receive a copy of the papers, them you make arrangement to do business. You do not need to give them your address, if they have the papers, it will have your address. Because you will not know who will calling you next, stating the same thing.  do not send them any money until you get the paper works and see if they register in the state of Texas. Tell them you are recording the call also. Stay calm when you talk to them - they hate that and be polite. Enjoy

Did you get something from an attorney? I'm trying to find out what I should do...Should I tell them I'm refusing to pay too? What can contacting the loan company do, can I pay them instead directly? I have enough going on right now and don't need to be dealing with this too.

I was constantly getting calls from this number from a lady by the name of Tonya so I finally decided to call back to see why she was calling. She told me they were suing me for a bounced check that I had with a payday loan co and with all the fees and interest that has compiled up that my balance was over $2300 for a 300 loan that was given to me online. As far as I was aware collection agencies can't threaten you with lawsuits so I told her I didn't care and to sue me. Well now I got a letter from a lawyers office saying that I had 30 days to pay $2865.89 or I was going to be taken to court for the same reason Tonya was calling me for. I have tried to call her and she hung up on me twice and told me she can't help me and talk to her attorney. Is this legal? I did take out the loan but I lost my job back then and couldn't pay it. I can't afford to come up with $3000 in 30 days and I asked why it was so much and they said because I live in a no-usary law state....what does that mean? What is going to happen now? Can someone let me know if they have been through this before?
