Weird because when I call back it says something about Car Leads. 'Americas most powerful marketing solution".

When I call the number back is says that the number I'm dialing is not in service, sounds like a con to me!

888-254-8110 - called me at work today and when I asked for a number the lady refused. They claimed to be calling from Wells Fargo Financial. I said I couldnt receive calls at work and she still refused. I said I would call them back and she refused again. I will not answer this call again.
Pat 2011-06-06 21:05:17 Unknown
This number is for Wells Fargo Financial.
mark 2011-06-06 21:05:17 Unknown
I got tried of them calling me so I set the selective call forwarding feature on my phone so that it forwards all of their calls to our non-emergency police department number. They can explain to them why they keep harassing me.
I've told them repeatedly that they have the wrong number, I've never had any dealings with wells fargo bank.
Jodie 2011-06-06 21:05:17 Unknown
They keep calling my work claiming to be from Wells Fargo and are EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! Actually spoke to my boss and made him so angry he hung up on her.
Upset 2011-06-06 21:05:17 Unknown
I do not know who this person is that keeps calling me at work and on my cellphone. I would like to report this number to you and want it stop immediately. If it is that important, they should leave a voice message. The reason I did not pick up at work is because I was in conference and could not talk. I have both voicemail on my work phone, as well as, my cellphone.
Oh Captain My Captain 2011-06-06 21:05:17 Unknown
Yeah, Cap'n Obvious is ina glass house, here.
This is not Wells Fargo, this is a fraud masquerading as Wells Fargo. Calling Wells Fargo Customer Service was my first move (duh!) (wellsfargo.com). The nice lady assured me that Wells Fargo has *NO* 888-254 numbers and that THIS IS A KNOWN *CON*. Specifically, it is a con that started as a text message fraud but has now transmogrified into a telephone fraud. I encourage everyone who gets calls from this number to contact the FTC and FCC and report it. File the most detailed reports you can and file as many reports as you can (quantity matters greatly for these agencies). For kicks, sure, go ahead and report it to the DoNotCall list, but that means nothing to these un-convicted felons.
God bless collective intelligence and the internet...

They call on Monday, the 5th of the month without even waiting for their own bank to clear debits and checks from the weekend. And continue to call Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday when the bill was paid online and my account debited immediately through their own bank. They must know they are wrong because they never leave a message (just show up on caller id) but call repeatedly. I usually pay on time and never go beyond the grace period. I don't deserve being harassed. What happened to the concept of a "grace period" in an equity loan? What a terrible bank! They got kid glove treatment during the recession from the government but treat their customers like criminals.

With technology these days there is absolutely no reason why you would have to answer any phone call you don't want too. I have set all callers that I don't want to talk too to a separate ringtone. I look up the # calling online. Add it to my contact list and put the I don't want to talk to you ringtone on the #. Nuff said. When I hear that ringtone I know not to go running to my phone.
I also keep my phone silenced most of the time (due to work) so I don't know they are even calling and can just look thru the list of missed callers and call back anyone I see might deserve a call back. I use to stress over these calls and answer them. Only to argue, get mad and stress. I spoke with an attorney who has gone over my rights and I no longer stress about the calls. I simply don't answer them. Anyone who wants to communicate with you will eventually send you a letter in the mail.

In addition to the greeting it goes on to say you can make your payment at wellsfargofinancial.com. It's legitimate. As irritating as it is to get calls from collectors it is debt that is owed.
biteme 2010-07-05 17:59:53 Unknown
Stupid! You idiot bill collectors will continue to do your illegal trade whether the bill is paid on time or not, you have received the incorrect number or not, and believe you have every right to do it. I work for an attorney and know what I can do. Don't try me with your stupid comment.

They have automated there phone systems to call you every half-hour!!! They hound you to take out credit. Afterwards they hound you to pay. Yes they are relentless!

Steve called and left a message that he had a personal business to discuss with me. He called on my cell which I haven't given to anyone However, a "Steve" called and left a message on my home line saying he had questions concerning our HOA, which I am a part of and I called the number he left and gave my cell for him to contact me during day. What a coincidence that shortly after, I got a call on the 888-254 number. Guess I learned my lesson there. He was deceiving. I will now monitor all my calls. It just doesn't seem fair. If someone wants to speak to me about somethig, they should leave a message that is clear and what they are calling about and who they are calling for and when and where to call. I work 2-1/2 jobs now, am a grandmother and so lately have not been at home or available during the reasonable business hours. But calling, and calling all hours of the day and night only gets my attention to not answer phone when I don't know who is calling.

Wow, You are a very bright woman.
If I was commiting a fraud by stealing personal information such as social security numbers, etc. ....... I couln't answer the phone as Wells Fargo? Try saying this phrase the next time your phone rings "Hello, this is Wells Fargo Bank. Can I have your account number please?"
See, you can saying anything when you answer a phone call.
My best advise is not to trust any one who calls you out of the blue. If there is any doubt make the call yourself.
irritated receptionist 2009-06-09 21:42:31 Unknown
If this is fraud, then why does the greeting you get say "Welcome to Wells Fargo Financial" when you call the number in question?
It is not fraud. I have had several accounts with them in the past, mostly dealing with furniture or other items financed with 0% for 1 year or 90 days same as cash promos.
The number is the main number for account services for Wells Fargo Financial. Of course the BANK wouldn't know about it as they are considered a separate entity.
Maybe before spouting something as fraud, one should take a moment to investigate.
