Receive this call several times/day.  Usually they will call, get voicemail, opt out and have the switchboard ring my line again.  They never leave messages so honestly, if they expect people to call back they should attempt better practices.  Perhaps identify yourself and leave a message. Judging by these posts and others for their company, they won't be around long enough to harrass anyone much longer.

I continually get phone calls from this number and have told them time after time I filed bankruptcy they were contacted and need to cease from calling me and harassing me at work.

They've called me several times saying they're about to file a lawsuit against me, but back down quickly when I explain my rights.  So far no lawsuit but they continue to call me every couple of days.

Received a call at work today at 4:15 PM from "Taneqia" from Smith, Haynes and Watson, left phone number 888-257-8993 ext. 3639. These fraudsters can pound salt until the end of time, I will not speak to these crooks.

they called my office stating that they were have my driver license suspended due to a debt, since they could not get wage garnishment. I flat out laughed at her, I told go a head and try, You cant do that either. really upsetted she slammed the phone down. HAHAHA play their game. It really gets them upset.

I am traveling abroad and they call 2x a day and it is a clear//new personal cell number and will not talk just hear nothing when answer.  Sick of it

Called my work phone "private" about 5 mins ago then called back again and allowed their number to be displayed.  Haven't seen the voice mail light come on yet so assuming they will just continue to call until I feel like answering.  Don't know these companies listed in this blog so I'll let them waste some more of their time.

A former employee of our company apparently got a payday loan at some point, and listed our phone number.  Now we get at least 10 calls a week from various numbers, usually an Indian or Pakistani accent asking for him.  I have told them numerous times to remove our number from their list, but they still keep calling.  
What to do????

When they call me, they say they are EZ PAYDAY LOANS....a company I have never dealt with.  They threaten to meet me "in the courthouse in your state" -- with details like THAT, how can I be nervous?  haha  Next time, ask for a validation of debt or their bar association # and see how quickly they hang up!

Says I owe $897 for a payday loan from a company I never borrowed
from.    they threatened to garnish my wages and sue me.

If this was a legitimate company then they would at least leave a message with information instead of leaving dead air on your voicemail.

Call and won't leave a message other than their phone number.  I don't have a payday loan and don't want to talk with them.  They need to contact me in writing if they have a valid issue......that will never happen!

I googled the number and found that they're a collection agency with less than good business practices.  I can block from my cell phone but not from the house phone.

They called  me about 2 times a dday for the past year. They always ask for a "Jenefer Garner". Always Leave a voice message. Does anyone know how to make them stop (besides blocking calls)?

called received at 11:17 CST 1-24-11 from 888-257-8993 Asking for Aurora Smoote. No such person here, they asked for our HR manager. I told them - speaking - and no employees at this business with that name. They then hung up.

I"ve been recieving calls from this smith ,haybes & watson . this company has not respect for my employment ,home ,or my family: I'm tired of these inoring calls . tried the federal trade com.I get no respond or help . these people need to be stopped. someone from Smith Haynes and Watson was calling me from their home, many many times a day. they are now only calling from the office and will not stop. I have a call blocker on my phone so it hangs up right away. They are a debt collection agency which works with payday lenders. I need the account information to file a bankruptcy.. I have been on hold with them for over an hour. thank goodness for unlimited minutes.

Some idiot from this office "called" me. You could tell he was calling from his house not an actual office.

This has scam written all over it. Do not return their calls nor messages.

It is Smith, Haybes, & Watson, a debt collector who buys & sells old debt.  They just had their license revoked in Maryland last week, and cannot collect in a couple of other eastern states.  Hopefully more states will follow, and put these scumbags out of business!  They claim to be a law firm, and threaten with each call, even calling home, cell, & work #s.  Obviously they can intimidate some with their illegal practices.  They are not following the law, so don't give them any info!!
