I don't know who is making these harassing calls. If I answer, no one is there.

Mike Davenport (check out his Facebook page) is a failed punk rocker (with the Ataris) who lives on a sprawling ranch in Santa Barbara, CA, one of the wealthiest and most upscale cities in the world.  His neighbors are Oprah and Al Gore. He runs a drug den/telemarketing company on 433 Milpas St., Santa Barbara. Undercover police were frequently scoping the locale.
B. Gopi is the multi-millionaire Indian who owns LOTUS Interworks in Santa Monica, CA. They initially teamed up but eventually got greedy and screwed each other. After extended litigation, they settled. BOTH are still running SCAMS that have changed company names over and over again -- every time the Attorney General brings in the hounds."

The BBB has given these scammers an "F".  They say:
"Complaints generally contain allegations of dissatisfaction with the product/service. Complainants often claim that they were told that for $199.00, they could access a list of home in foreclosure or pre-foreclosure and they could possibly take over the payments on these homes and move in for little or no money down. When complainants find out that this type of purchase does not happen and ask for a refund, they are told that they have to wait for 90 days before they can obtain a refund and even then they have to provide copies of five 'rejection' letters. The company generally does not respond to any complaints from the BBB....
This company's advertising states that they are located at 35 West Main St., Suite B #106 in Ventura, California. This location is actually a private mail box drop store. The bureau has information that indicates that the company is actually located at 401 N. Milpas Street, Suite E in Santa Barbara, 93101.
The BBB believes that one of the principals of this company, Susan Quinn was also a principal of a company by the name of Anchor House Financial in Santa Barbara. The BBB has a seperate report available on that company."

I called this company. The first time i called a lady answered the phone and was eating chips or something and when i asked her for more information between her crunching she hung up. Then the third time i called i got a guy that when i said i couldnt do the 199 today he said call back when you serious and said im busy and hung up.

I called and the person I spoke with was actually pretty credible.  I almost fell for it!  I'm not an easily one-call closed person though, so I told them I would talk to my husband and call back.  I devised a list of the following questions and called my "housing agent" back.  His name was Robert at (805) 944-4722.  When I called him back and started asking my questions, he sounded like a completely different person.  In response to my questions, he mostly said that all of the houses were different situations.  There were some pretty generic questions that I was asking.  I then asked the name of the company (should have been one of the first questions), and he was very hesitant and even said he didn't work for a company.  I asked who I should make the check out to in order to see if I could get an answer.  Then he said, "Oh yea, we're called American Standard Online."  I asked for a website and he gave me a phony URL.  I'm definitely reporting this.  SUCH a waste of my time and could have been a waste of a LOT of money...identity theft, etc...
1. Are these houses foreclosures?  Why are they being given up by owners? Pre-foreclosures
2. Will we have a landlord?  Will we be considered as the home-owners?  We get the deed but don't own while renting
3.  Are we able to sub-lease or make changes to the house? all opportunities are different
4.  Will we eventually need any down payment? Is the down payment factored in to what we are paying monthly?  all opportunities are different
5. Do we pay home ownership taxes and/or insurance?
6. Will an agent show us the homes? just go look at it ourselves
7. Do you check to make sure there aren't any liens? yes
8. Penalties for not buying at the end?
9. If we improve the property increasing it's value, can we pay less in the end?
10. Will we find out payment terms including rate?
11. Does credit matter, if so, when?
12. If salary decreases, will that affect our ability to buy in the end or continue renting?
13. How is $199 refundable? What's the name of the company? Do you have info in an email form?

They are still spamming craigslist using ads like this:

Who is behind this number??

I thought it was too good to be true but I'm so desperate in need of a place I almost fell for it. The guy that answered said his name was Morgan Glam and gave me a call back number because I said I didn't have a bank account or credit card. Call back number was 1-805-680-3811.

Scam companies like this one need to die.  They spam like crazy and make sites UN-usable.

They are still spamming the rental sections of craigslist.  They own no properties for rent.  Paying them for their lists is like giving a car salesman money before he lets you look at the cars.

They are back on Craigslist again.  They just posted so I will flag them immediately.  Thank goodness for sites such as this one.  

Their posting looked "fishy" so I tried looking up their phone number to see who they were.  It took several attempts, but I finally found this site.  Keep up the good work.

The first call to this company was picked up by an individual being incredibly verbally abusive, it sounded as if she were talking to someone else in a large call center on a Sunday afternoon about how "these f'ers all want something for nothing."

The second call to make sure I'd dialed it correctly was answered by a British gentleman who refused to answer any questions about locations of properties or how they could be so inexpensive until I'd given him my banking details and employment records in order to discuss my approval for properties before I could find out more.

Other online searches link this number 8882695390 to American Standard... a company that others said reminded them of being scammed by a used car salesman who required money up front, non refundable, before he'd show them the car.

Beware these guys. They're not renting houses, they're selling a list of possible houses to take over from banks and they do it by making 200.00 per list, after collecting your personal data.

I wont be doing business with them and have reported their ads as spam on Craig's List.

So true! If you ask questions they get very rude and hang up. Very unprofessional. I explained my reason for being hesiitant about given them my credit card info and she said, "my application has been denied".

Another number used by the craigslist spammer American Standard Online/Anchor House Financial.  They sell a list of properties for $199 that is available elsewhere for free.  They get rude if you don't give them your credit card number or ask for more details.
