do not trust this!

I dont know the number, but I got a 'ding' bell sound, then a female 'good-bye'.. an obvious scam call to test the line, so prepare for a large amount of further advertising calls from this lot, and anyone they are connected with!

Heres a tip, if you dont know the number - DO NOT ANSWER.

The real questions are of course where they are getting their numbers from-in my opinion they are likely dialling random numbers, and by picking up your phone you have told them that it works! It wont matter what company you have your line connected with, bt, talk talk, virgin etc, its the same number regardless. The only other way they can get numbers is from dodgy staff from similar telephone companies stealing phone records whilst on the job for cash, but I would think a computer dialling out randomly is far more likely-the automated test with the female voice pretty much tells you so!

I answered and no one there, then a recorded "good-bye" and disconnects very annoying since they call our office constantly

this same 'company' keeps calling our offices and when you pick up there is the 'click' and they hang up.   If you call the number back it says..."You have not entered a valid extention" and again hangs up.

Now here is the thing, then we start again getting calls from other companies offering credit card services.

This 888 number is a 'crawler' that is looking for valid numbers and then that is sold to other companies that will then call you to sell you something.

We have now been 'not polite' when we get the calls from the other companies...and I suggest you just hang up as soon as the other calls come in.

Just notice if you get another call(s) in the next day or two after this (hang up call) has come in.

Prerecorded message offering interest payment savings on credit cards.  Calls every day.  Super annoying!

Got a call today from 888-2714732 asking for my boss by his name. He said his name is John from Advintel in Toronto or something like that..could not understand him well. He did not want to leave a mesage.

They call here constantly asking for the boss by name and I won't put them through because I know they are selling something.  If the boss ever does get the call, I'm sure he'd set them straight too.

Calls everyday to hang up when I answer the phone.

same thing for me...non-stop calling even after i asked them to stop.

This number just called and asked for my boss by name and when i said he wasnt here the guy said "I just F#$king saw him walk in the door ...I am sitting outside the door". I said "I dont think so he is not in today" So he says "fine i'll call back in 2 weeks and he better be there". What the heck....I am here alone 2day and if it didnt ring in long distance and i was able to see that no one was parked out front i would be scared...I wish there was a way we could report these people...

I don't think he speaks English very well, static-y connection. Hung up when I refused to connect him to my manager. Now I answer and hang up when I see his number. I am also officially reporting his number.

call from this #, guy asked for boss by name, said his name was winston from avendale or aventail couldn't understand him well. asked if he wanted to leve a message but he just hung up!

Received a call from this person. Asked for me ( president ) by name, was trying to market something to me, (un)fortunately I could not comprehend what he was saying, therefor I hung up

idiots called again, selling minerals or something. wow, almost 24 hours on the dot since the last call

This dum dum just sat on the other end breathing, I said to him the next step is to say hello, I said to him I can hear you breathing.....and then said we must have a bad connection. lolol wow, do they actually get paid good money or something? I would hate to be hated and so annoying to people.

They have called me 7 times in the last 24 hours on two phone lines.

They say they want to send me information about mineral or gold exploration via email. The story and company name seems to change slightly each time.

I told them I wouldn't give any info or listen to any further babbling unless they answered YES or NO to the question - "are you calling me because you are looking for investors"... the answer was YES. On each subsequent call I told them to stop calling me.

Called yesterday and the previous day wanting an email address to send a prospectus for Gold Exploration I believe he said it was Avondale..... His phone connection was very echo ee... I asked him if he was on a VOIP connection and he said he wasn't....  I kept asking him to repeat himself as I could not hear him ( although I could)and he finally got fed up and hung up.....  did I miss my opportunity of a lifetime ....  I hope not....LOL....

a man with a heavy foreign accent keeps calling, asks for my boss by name. i say he's not here (he wasn't here) and ask him if he wants my boss's voice mail. he says yes then hangs up when i transfer him without leaving a message. get a life you moron!

Just received a call from this number he asked for my boss by name, I asked him for his name and what the call was regarding. he told me some mineral company I believe he said Anton Minerals he said his name was Jules Benedict. When I asked again what it was regarding he said investments i told him that my boss was not interested and could he please take our name off of there calling list.I hung up. He called me back and told me that i was very rude and that I shouldn't have hung up on him. I apologized and informed him that our company does get a lot of crank calls so i need to be sure it is a legitimate call before i put it through. I asked for his number his reply was that it is on my call display then he hung up.

This company is Avental Minerals looking for "investors". I've had numerous hang ups but this is the 1st time i've talked to him. Accented voice and he left his name and number. (we don't have call display).

So ANNOYING they call everyday, and the second time he called I think the guy realized he had just called an hour earlier so he asked to speak with :"Joe smith"

Yah OKAY THERE BUDDY, So I hung up on him. But I like the idea of asking the guy  to speak louder repeatedly.

They have called 3 times today, Dave called and then a young lady called then finally got some info out of Dave on the 3rd call.  Called for the boss by name - same story - Avental Minerals , it is possible that if they ever do raise the boss they may be happy to drop us off their list.

First a couple of calls where there is silence then automated voice saying "goodbye."
Then a man called later 888-271-4732 asking for X X (my boss's name). Said he was from Advent ? Minerals in Toronto and wanted to give my boss information on their company.

The line was quiet, then got a loud a "ping" noise in my ear, then an automated voice saying goodbye... don't know what that's about...
