THIS IS AN URGENT COURT MATTER I CAN BE REACHED AT THE MUNINCIPLE SERVICES BUILDING AT 888-272-8579 BLA BLA BLA.
NEVER ASKED OR APPLIED A NAME OF ENTEREST IE: MY NAME
I'm so SICK of this type of SHAT...

I called the number and it appears to be a collection agency. The person who previously had my new phone number seems to have left a large trail of debt collectors who keep calling.

I received a call from this number saying it was regarding 'an urgent court case' and the company calling was 'Municipal Services Bureau.' I'm not sure if I should call them back or not, I've heard they are a scam.

I keep receiving the same message "urgent court matter" and the number (888) 272-8579. This does not match the number shown on the website for the Municipal Services Bureau in Austin, and I believe it is not legitimate. I wouldn't have any urgent court matters.

Call on my CELL PHONE VOICEMAIL at 8:20am on 4/21/09 with this message...
"Someone at this household is involved in an important court matter!"...Please call 1-800-616-0166 to discuss this case...please give us your phone number to access your records.
The caller-id said 512-454-4757. I am reporting to the FCC because this recorded message never gave the name of the company they represent and their message was quite forceful and inappropriate!

Found here http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-616-0166/3 that the number belongs to "Municipal Services Bureau". The post also suggests that the number is phishing for information.
