Hi!  You're a victim just like us.  Nobody authorized the bankdraft-but somehow they got our account #.  Did you ever get any info about their address?  If you did-can you let me know? (info@childrensclothingtree.com.  We're in NH-do you know what other states were scammed?)  Thanks-Sue

We also were debited 149.95 with out our authorization. I called the 800 number on the electronic check and a lady answered but wouldn't give me any informatio as to why the money was taken out, she kept saying we authorized, which we did not, then she hung up on me several times. She kept saying we would receive a package in the mail that would allow us to file for a refund, but we never did. Finally my bank did a reverse debit or something like that and took the money back out of their account and put it in ours. Now I see their website is down. VERY scary that someone had access to our account.

On December 30, 2008 the amount of $149.00 was deducted from our pre-school's checking account from NWB Connect.  Their phone # is 1-888-282-1639.
The bank is investigating, but we have not as yet received the money back from the bank for this fraudulent transaction.

Hello:  I see I am not the only one who has been "scammed".  NWB also debited our business account for $149.95.  This happened in November'08  and I didn't see it until middle of December.  I tried about 6-7 times to get through with the 888 number on the so-called electronic check.  Since then,  I have spoken with  3 or 4 different women at different times.  I got that it was selling web-site space.  I explained that we had our own web-site and didn't need their services.  I also explained that I did not authorize any such charge.  Was told that a mailing had been sent out and it said  if they did not receive a call from us to cancel, that it would be assumed we wanted the service.  That in itself would be a scam.  Each woman I spoke with  said a check for a refund would be mailed the following week.  I fooled around with them so long that my bank, JPMorgan Chase said it had been over 60 days and refused to reimburse me.   Thank goodness it wasn't a larger amount.  No one would give me an address.

Hi! Received a draft of $149 on my account as well. I have never been hung up on so many times. One woman promised to send paperwork on 1/12 for a refund. Never came. Another woman promised a refund on 1.27 within 10 days. No refund. I am also a small business and need the money desperately. All I can get is it is for yellow pages advertising for NWB Connect and the website is now down. Are they moving on to scam someone else? How do you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and does anyone have an address for this NWB Connect?? Thanks!!

We are a church and NWM Connect also charged our company, via an unauthorized bank draft with $149.95.  It took me over 2 months to talk to a real person who was yelling and extremely rude.  She would not answer my questions or explain what this charge was for.  I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

one more thing...a Google search on 888-282-1639 lists their current Web site: http://nwbc.synthasite.com/contact-us.php.  Synthasite is a free service.  Anyone could set up a site.  Definitely not professional.

So my husband called his lawyer, which I don't think we're going to need.  He also called our bank the same day, and the bank (much to my surprise) is giving him a provisional credit for the $399 while they conduct an investigation.  The thing is, the "electronic" check that we could view online is actually a scanned paper check that doesn't bear my husband's signature.  We never authorized any withdrawal, and we certainly didn't receive a product or service for this money.  I urge you to check with your bank to see if there are any strange details that would prompt them to conduct an investigation and possibly reimburse you.  If not, call your attorney.  We all need to band together to take down these scammers!

I called the number and was on hold for a total of over 4 hours yesterday.  I decided to call again this morning and got a woman who answered, "hello"?  I asked if it was NWB Connect, as is listed on the electronic check that I downloaded from my bank statement.  She said it was a private number.  I told her I called an 888 number, and she said it was a private number.  I've spoken with her before, and so has my husband.  Last time I spoke with her, I gave her a reference number, which she accepted...and she was able to determine my husband's name from it.  She had promised to send paperwork with 36 hours to receive a refund.  That was over a week ago.  When I spoke with her this morning, I asked her if she was a scammer.  lol  She told me I was sick in the head.  Now we're getting the hold music again.  I suppose it's time to call a lawyer...

They debited $399 from our business checking account.  We've been calling and e-mailing and threatening legal action, to no avail.  We're a new business and can't afford this type of unexpected draft from our bank.  How can they get away with this?

Exactly what I am trying to find out. Our church bank account was debited 149.95. Our bank gave us the phone number to call, upon calling this number and waiting several min. for a customer rep. I was disconnected.
