Receive the calls from the "calling" lady several times since November incl. today 02 / 4.  Really hardworking and persisting lady. Thanks for the information in this website - I will send nothing.
For your info I receive the calls from 925 231 2244 -- a phone number from Concord, California
I also receive a letter from them - said to be headquartered in 6859 E, Rembrandt Ave suite 128, Mesa, AZ [ phone # 480 -284 4014 ]  This information is written on the backside of the letter, together with all kinds of information re. Secretary of Sate from Colorado, New Jersey, Kansas and several other states.

I am rescinding my pledge, as small as it is, because of this company's harassment. Calls come in from the number 316-251-9472 three or four times a day, demanding that I give them a credit card number to charge it.
I cannot find them listed in a comparison of not-for-profits, which further makes me think that this is a scam. So, I will report this organization to the State of Kansas Attorney General's Office.

Thanks for the info. I was nearly trapped. Luckily, I did my  homework before I send my money. They asked me for my credit card number. Upon refusing , they kept sending me the letters. Although they are legitimate, I would rather send my money to those organizations which can benefit the patients not the high-pay CEO there.

i got the same phone call. so after writing a check (never give a credit card#  to anyone i do not personally know and trust) i re-thought and put Breast Cancer - Grove City, Ohio into a Google search and found this site. I believe it is a scam and so went to my PO Box and destroyed the check before the Postman picked it up. someone needs to investigate this.

My mother is in her 90's, is on a fixed income and has age-related dementia. Unfortunately, they called her, confused her, and took the time to walk her through giving out her information for a $25 donation. She is very slow these days so I know they had to take a good amount of time and work hard to talk her through what to do and I am sure it was clear to them that she wasn't "all there." It's frustrating and makes me feel sick. I have no idea whether or not the organization is truly reputable but their solicitation efforts don't help their reputation.

Happened to me last night. Sounds like the same "sweetie" woman. Reminded me that I'd offered a donation and that I hadn't mailed it in. Tried to get my CC number, and I ALMOST gave it to her, but thought better of it at the last moment. I asked if I could donate through the website. When she said no, I became suspicious and asked for the mailing address. (What organization WON'T let you donate at the website.) Address was 3971 Hoover Road, Groves City, OH 43123-2839. I'm so glad I looked this up first. I'm tempted to send something else in this envelope.

I noticed that my self. I have  a good friend battling breast cancer and it makes me sick to think that these people are ripping others off as  it seems to me that is what they are doing. I am going to report them to our BBB today!

I too was uncomfortable with the call and never give my credit card over the phone to anyone I do not call myself and do not donate until I check the org for legitimacy and % that goes directly to the purpose. (I was annoyed by being called "A sweety" several times) Kinda hokey. I have returned the statement with a note asking them to take my number off their calling list. Missouri has a no call and if they continue to call I will contact my attorney general. We get calls constantly because charities are exempt unless they are told to stop; which never works. ha

I echo all of your comments...about soliciting for a credit card, questionable address, AND that the pink ribbon is bogus. Thanks for the confirmation of my suspicions. No $ from me.

I got the same phone call as others.  The lady told me I could send a check.  Then she asked for my credit card.  I told her you said I could send a check.  She said ok.  She asked if I could send it as soon as I got the request in the mail.  When it arrived and I was writing the check, I noticed the address to UPS and suddenly I felt like something was wrong so I went online.  Thanks everyone for your comments.  I just tore up that check.  I am not sure what the phone number was.  I have an 888 number on my phone but it is not the one listed above.  I am also notifying that UPS store even though I realize someone has just purchased a mailbox at their address.

Well, it"s VERY interesting to see that these scammers are doing their darndest to dirty the Breast Cancer cause. PLEASE BEWARE. Unlike most of you, I found out through my "bank account" where these perpetrators actually had the gall to charge me $35.00.  Where did they get all this information? I have no idea since I do not give out such information or details online or on the phone.  All the bank was able to provide that it was a check card purchase and the information they gave was THE BREAST CANCER 888-293-0553 AZ.  Needless-to-say,  I had to cancel everything because these scammers had my private information.  Please be careful when you use your debit cards, it seems there's someone out there with a copier as you use it.  My last use before that was at the supermarket.  You NEVER know.

Got the call from 888-293-0553 in the beginning of April 2013. The lady asked me whether or not I can make a donation of $ 40 dollars or more for The Breast Cancer Society, and she kept calling me "sweet heart and honey." She asked me for my credit card number. I told her to send me an invoice and I will write a check. I'm glad I googled this address: 3971 Hoover Rd. Grove City, OH 43123, like everyone else here said, it seemed like it's a scam. I won't send her the check.

A little browsing on the Internet can go a long way.  Turns out, they are legit, but, what money you donate goes mostly to overhead - fund-raising and exorbitant salaries - so that only about 5 cents of every dollar actually goes to help cancer victims.  Here's an interview with a representative from the Better Business Bureau, see for yourself:  http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/281477/3/BBB ... -cancer-charity .  Very disenchanting.

i keep on getting the same calls today they called 4 time once this morining at 845 and work me up i get tired of them calling me they sent me 3 invoices so far since jan 2013

Guess What folks, you put in the Address on Hoover Road and a list of companies come up and not one is The Breast Cancer Center.   BEWARE!

I see that some of these posts are old but, just to let everyone know, this group is still in business.  They called, and then transferred me to someone who wanted my credit card info.  It just sounded wrong.  I will not be sending a check to this place.

Hasler 018h13504004, zip code  is 48034 some type of home mailing stamp system, no return address on the original letter what is up with that.

you would think that today on record someone can locate Hasler 018h13504004.

The woman who called was very pushy.  Originally she wanted $75 or $50.  I told her I couldn't do that but agreed to a lesser amount.  I couldn't find The Breast Cancer Society, Inc listed in the Better Business Bureau, so I'm not sending the money I agreed to as I think this is a scam to get money.  The people who suffer are the legitimate charities and the cancer patients.

Not sure if this is the number, but it is the address.  Glad I checked online too to find so many complaints.  It is too bad this isn't considered a crime and the people put in jail for steeling money.  Thanks for the tip.  I won't send a check now, but will to the correct society.

I forgot to add that the calls I received were the same as the other calls that were reported on this site, but the called ID number on my call was 248-351-5662.

I received that call from this organization last week and refused to give my credit card number;  however, I told her I would send a check.  I've had her letter in my possession a couple of days and today got another call telling me I could  give the donation via credit card.  She seems a little bit too anxious so I probably won't send a check now.

I made out a check and was about to send it.  My wife said "Check it out first!"  I did.  the address is the residence of two individuals.  I tore up the check.

I also had same call. Gave my credit card no. Then something just told me this is not real. Canceled my credit card before they could charge on it. I had breast cancer surgey,so that why i feel for it. Now i'm free of cancer. Please just hang up on them .

I received a phone call from The Breast Cancer Society - callers were from Michigan and invoice says Grove City, OH - certainly not local for me.  I HAVE AN UNLISTED NUMBER AND DO WANT THESE CALLS.  I donate to Susan G Komen, locally, and do not wish to be dogged for a donation to this place.  This same woman called me about another organization previously - I didn't donate.

I want my number removed from this list as it is UNLISTED.

If something doesn't feel or sound right, listen to your instincts. This year, 2011, I had foolishly sent $10. in April and July and in December received another phone solicitation. This time I was told I previously donated and they would like another $10. Then a woman said she wanted to put me on with her supervisor to verify my info. Suddenly, too late for my previous donations, I woke up. I said why do I need to speak with another person? I said it seemed like high pressure to make me feel more obligated to mail in the check. I hung up on her and later that evening a man phoned me and I told him that their high pressure was highly suspicious. I had decided to investigate on line and now am grateful I did. Glad I only lost $20. Perhaps it was worth the lesson to be way more suspicious in the future.
