You should put these kinds of calls on the Do Not Call list. It's can be found on the website under Do Not Call list.com (something like that when you see it you will know). It asks for your phone number and any other numbers such as cell to that recieved distrubing calls all the time from people or places you do not recongize. Do it withing 30 days or so the calls will stop, and continue to report them to the Do No call list everytime you receive another call from anyone like that. Good Luck.

I work at a nursing facility and receive several calls from this number through our main phone line. It is very disruptive and uncalled for. Places doing these things should have some sort of way to be stopped. It is to the point where in my job as a receptionist I receive more unwanted calls from unknown places or telemarketers than from family members and doctors offices. It is out of control.

You wages cannot be garnished by a judement from payday lending in some states its illegal and others as I stated before its only by governed official, such as IRS, Child Support, and Student loans such as that. If it makes you feel better get the advice of an Collection attorney.  Take with them let them know what your up against with these people calling.  The thing is that they very sudden don't leave messages so they can honestly say they don't harras.  But when you have caller id you can almost count how many times they call.  Call an Collection attorney, as I mentioned Kimmel and Silverman.  Take with them, they may not be in your city and state but they can give you advice on matter such as this, they are good.  Believe me they are.  Just the fact the you haven't received any court documents from who ever these people are should tell you that its probably all they can do. Take care.

Victoria - Thanks for the information.  I was not aware that they (these payday loan companies) could not garnish your wages.  Couldn't they get a judgement in court and then garnish? These people have been calling my job (though I never answer unrecognized calls - thank goodness my employer finally got caller id) but I've been waiting for something to come in the mail regarding a lawsuit. I know that I need to be 'served' if I'm being sued and had decided to wait until I got it in writing, because due to the fact that they are so relentless about calling (SEVERAL time a day for 3 months now) but have only left one msg, I figured they know that their practices are probably unlawful. Thanks for the collection atty referrals as well.  I may just have to contact them in the near future.

If you are received calls like that it is against the law for collectors to call you at home or work like that they are volating you consumer rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act.  Pick up the phone once or twice if they call tell them that you cannot have personal calls at work and tell them to stop calling you at home as well.  If they want to notify you tell them to send you a debt validation letter with the purpose of the debt you supposely owe, the amount you owe and the debtors name and address, you should have at least 30 days from the date you received this debt validation letter to respond. If the collection agency is unwilling to do this ask them for the direct name of the creditor you owe and tell them you rather deal with them. If they still continue to call you tell them to cease and desist all call to home or work, and than ask for their address and a name of someone to send the cease and desist letter to them to stop, you can go online to find out how exactly to write a letter such as this. And keep a telephone log of all calls and names of the people you speak with as well as dates and times. And if all fails get in contact with a collection lawyer, I know that Kimmel and Silverman are very good collection attorneys, at (1-800-668-3247),  Talk with one of their lawyers and explain in details your situation, but as I stated you have to keep telephone logs of every conversation you may have had with these collection people and what was said.  Try and tape calls with conversations about legal actions against you or threats of police coming to your home, garnishing your pay,  that type of stuff helps your  case.  Remember this only government officials can garnish your wages, etc, IRS, Student Loans, Child Support such as that. And the only reason why they keep calling is because that's all they can do period.  God Bless and Good Luck, I hope this information helps someone.

This # and several others have been calling my coworker who is on vacation something about a law office and collection firm. They have called 10 times in a row and I am getting fed up with them. She is really not in! What a pain.

This is ACE Cash collections. If you have had a payday loan with them in the past and are deliquent, they will call you, your family, your work, your HR department, and threaten you with legal action. They will not work with any payday loan consolidation services. My advice is to make an agreeable arrangement with them. They are very annoying and don't stop calling.
