they are just another debt collector using illegal tactics to scare people in to paying them money whether or not the debt is valid... is a collector is legit, they should have  no problem in 1) proving that they are legit,  2) providing appropriate proof of the debt and 3) proving that they have a legal right to collect the debt. These nationwide cats seem unwilling to do any of those.. so that tells me, beware.

Received message to return a call to this # in regards to a claim # I have no idea what it is. The business called my job but didn't ask to speak with me and left the message if I didn't return the call I would be served at my job. I tried calling and was disconnected after giving the claim#. Is this a real company and is this legal?

yea... right what did he serve you.. dinner? I did a poll of the process servers I use (12 different firms) and none ever call an individual ahead of time... additionally, since process servers server documents once a suit has been filed... how come they can never actually provide a valid case number, jurisdiction in which the action is filed etc.. not too mention when you call the firm they refer you to.... those firms act like their contact info is top secret.. when in fact a valid suit must contain appropriate information on to whom the answer to the suit must be served.

This is all illegal bs in violation the FDCPA and state laws governing collections (where they exist).

Process server contacted my job yesterday and I just thought it was a collector but got served at work today

got call from local number (department of investigations) process server (ha) saying to call nationwide.. call them and they claim to be a prelitigation (WTF) they are really debt collectors although they say they are not... if it looks, smells and thinks like a rat.. it is a rat
