WATCH OUT! SCAM ALERT! Too late for me, however; as I was contacted by THE WORK SOURCE, potential numbers besides the 888-361-8672 are 888-227-5716 and 888-361-8672. I had posted an ad on Craiglist for general contracting, remodeling, and renovations. So, when I received the email I did not consider a scam as I am familiar with working with banks and their foreclosed properties. The email read:

immediate consideration
Hi,
Responding to your ad on Craigslist.
We are looking for skilled handymen and tradesmen that would be able to work on bank owned and residential properties.
Please have transportation and tools to where you can do minor repairs on homes.
$200-$600 per work order
"work order" = 2-5 hours worth of work.
If your interested;
Speak to Allison or a (Dept Rep)
# 1-888-554-7412

I originally spoke to "Katie" and she had ALL the right answers; I drilled her and her "manager" for about 10 minutes; asking all the questions a good investigator would ask. I paid the $60.00 for the so-called " Background Check TWS - Full Version" and the $39 to be "bonded". This was October 2 with the "promise" that I would have work-orders within two weeks. Instead I received a few emails with fake "residential leads" that I contacted to only discover that I was "soliciting" individuals not in need of remodels or renovations. The one individual that did reply asked if I could do a four-day project... in Rhode Island! Over 3,000 miles away.

As of today I have filed a Return Request of the monies paid. Of certain, I will never see!

I was also contacted by these same people however my contact was Noah. I also asked the above information and was also told that they represented 30 banks and they contract out work for them in foreclosed properties .He also stated that they pay anywhere from $200-$600 per job which could take from 2 to 6 hours per job.He said the banks pay you every 2 weeks.When I gave him my area code he told me that they have enough work for at least 5 months and if I want to travel out of my area  there is continuos work.
He told me to sign up on the web site and pay $90 for a Federal background check,which I haven't done.It sounds too good to be true.
Sounds and smells of a SCAM.

Was contacted by voice message from phone number 917.284.9285. voice message prompted to call back at 917.284.9286. Message stated was looking for contractors to handle work at properties in my area. Called number and was connected to someone named Rachel at The Work Source. Listened to her pitch which stated they needed contractors in my area and that they dealt with more than 30 banks nationwide for property management as well as for homeowners. Did a little investigating and found little information about this company even though I was told they were in business for 13 years. Called Rachel back and asked what the actual name of their company was. She told me The Work Source. I asked where they were corporately headquartered. She said California, Florida, New York. I asked which state they were incorporated in. She said hold on, let me check. The call was then disconnected. I tried calling back 3 times and every time here extension was no longer available. I tried at least 20 name starts in their directory and not a single match. With no doubt in my  mind this is a SCAM trying to get your credit card info to process a so called background check required to get work. Proceed with extreme caution, highly likely this is a scam.
