"Lauren" called my home as well, left the same exact message as the others - that she was returning the call.  My retired, sweet, gullible husband called back since it was "official government business" and gave her all kinds of information about our income, mortgage, etc.  She kept trying to pass him off to a loan officer but he declined and wisely said 'my wife takes care of the finances.'  He told her he'd talk with me and call her back.  Welll of course as soon as he started telling me what had happened & that it was from a "government agency"  I knew he had been flim-flammed.  Fortunately he didn't "bite."  He's sick about it.   Word to the Wise: Don't ever give information whatsoever to anyone who initiates the call to you.  Thankfully he didn't give any account numbers or pin numbers  because he doesn't know them <g>.  Funny that she doesn't change her name along with the phone numbers when she calls.

"Lauren" is a sneaky little telemarketer. You can be called by a business, even if you are on a "do not call" list, if the company has had previous dealings with you. Lauren's bosses know this, so she prefaces her calls by saying, "You recently contacted us about information on remortgaging your house. I'm returning your call." That way, they can claim they've had previous contact with you that YOU initiated, and this is supposed to exempt them from the "do not call" rules.

Since my husband and i have owned our house outright for years, we hardly plan to remortgage, nor would we call someone out of the phone book if we were planning to remortage, so we knew she was not returning our call. As you can see in the above posts, that is their modus operandi. These people are SOOOO sneaky. I screen all my calls, so I never pick up sales calls, but she left a message. There just aren't enough people to enforce the governmental rules on "do not call" lists.

Received the same call as others mentioned above left on my answering machine from Lauren, and said I called her.  Pure lie.  Will be reporting.

You should never give a stranger information.  Ever.  Unless you initiate the call and know the person/company you are calling.

When This caller called and left a number, I returned the call.  I was advised that they were returning my call reference refinance.  I asked if they were Wells Fargo and was advised that they worked for Wells Fargo to prescreen affordable ''Home morgage applicants under the HAMP program. She asked for property address , income, taxes, insurance costs, etc.  Later when I called the number back to get their location, I was told they were in Delaware and their company name is Consumer Referral Agency.
She stated that she did not call me from 888-418-7235 but 888-541-2532.  When I pressed for the address of the company, the caller hung up on me.   My concern is what do they do with data collected?

Call to my cell - caller ID "Withheld" -  "returning my call"  about a "loan modification" program that I had allegedly called  them about. Interesting that they leave a number for you to call but withhold their calling number.

They called twice today within six hours.  I called back after the first call and spoke to "Lauren" who said it was a mistake after I told her I never contacted anyone about a mortgage. She said ok she would take care of it, then why did they call again?  I am on the do not call list.

Just got a call from this number and was left a message for home refinancing and HAMP info. Like the rest of you, I never did/will/ever call this number fo them to 'return my call'. I, too, am on the do not call list. And I put my number on the list again just to make sure.

Same general MO as all the others ? a message left on my answering machine. I called back and asked for the name of the company. The young woman who answered (Lauren???) said Consumer Referral Agency. When I said I was on the do not call, had never requested info from them and planned to report them, she hung up on me. I then reported them to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and included a link to this website in the hope that if someone does investigate these callers, he or she will see this is an ongoing problem.

Same as others, claims to be returning my call probably as a way to get out of checking the do not call list.  I have had not mortgage for years and would never call such an outfit.  I will also report this to the government as a do not call viiolation.

I received the same message on my answering machine so I returned the call and spoke to Lauren and told her I was on the Do Not Call List...she was very rude and she said "it must have been a missed dialed call and even so, we are a non profit so that list has nothing to do with us...good try!" and then she hung up. I reported this number to the Do Not Call registry and hope you will do the same.  https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Received a call from this number on my cell phone.  I do not want people ever calling my cell phone, as it is for my use not some scam artist.  Plus this idiot lady stated that she was returning my call about refinancing a mortgage.  I have made no calls about a mortgage, because our home was paid off over 40 years ago. It showed the number blocked, but then she gave the above number to call back to take care of refinancing my home.  Idiot people!!!

We  got a call this afternoon about 12:30 from "Lauren", supposedly in response to my request for information on a loan modification for my house.  Funny, we haven't had a mortgage for over fifteen years.  I don't answer calls from unknown numbers or entities and was surprised that this person actually left a message with a return number, which I also won't respond to.

This is a scam of immature young women who state they work for the government on refinancing mortgages.  Rude and not professional, complete scam.  Called my cell phone, wish I could figure out how and where they got my number from.  Reported them to several sites already and will continue.
