Update on Harris and Associates:  Sent them a certified letter, return receipt requested on 06/30/11.  I went to the USPS website to track the status and here's what I found:

Rec'd another call yesterday (07/06/11).  Tracy Smith left a voice mail message saying it was very urgent that I return the call.  A process server was on their way to my work or home.  She didn't know where I would be served.  I have already filed complaints with the Attorney General's Office and the BBB.  I have sent them a certified, return receipt letter requesting that they validate the debt they say I owe.

I also received a call from them using this number.  The even more interesting thing is that if you do a search on this number, you get a website for Sun Energy Installations in Toronto.  Apparently they are dabbling in solar power now???  Scammers!!

I'm very annoyed I keep getting these phone calls from this number and others like it. Same Company Harris & Associates but what pisses me off is (The company isn't calling for me) The company is lookiing for a Timothy Williams someone I don't know nor have I ever heard of them. They call constantly day and night several days a week, several times a day.  They have called as early as 7:00am. and as late as 8:00pm.I tell the company I don't know this individual and to please stop calling my phone. I told them to put my number on the DNC list and they say they will.They have the nerve to say sorry Ma'am that we bothered you and it won't happen again. The same day sometimes hours later the company calls back. I spoke to the supervisor about this matter and he/she says we will put you on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY!!!!! HA HA HA IT NEVER HAPPENS. The last call I got from them was today July 1st 2011at 10:30am. Don't these people have a life? Besides messing with everyone else. I have all the voicemails on my phone that they leave when I screen the phone calls. I've tried call blockers that works to a certain extent. But, although it blocks them from calling me directly they can still leave annoying voicemails. They leave the phone number for me to call them back and leave messages saying I have so much time to do so. And if I don't I will get a summons and they can come to my place of employment. Anyway it's very annoying my cellphone company told me to change my number. Hell why should I have to change my number when they are the ones being pest........ Rec'd a call today from Tracy Smith stating that they have a file against me for a payday loan that I did not repay.  When I asked for validation of the debt, they said they could only tell me that the original amount was $300, and now with accrued interest and fees, the total amount due is over $800 but they would settle today for $500.  When I again asked them to send me a letter validating the debt, they refused and said they could send me something to my e-mail, however it would be in my best interest to get it paid right away as a process server was on their way to serve me either at home or at work, they didn't know where I would be served.  The e-mail that they sent me included the following address to which I am now going to send them a debt verification letter.  I will mail it certified, return receipt.  I have already filed a report with my Attorney General's Office.  When I searched the yellow pages and the BBB, there is no such company listed anywhere.  When I google earthed the address it showed an Independent living rehab facility and Track Modeling, Inc.  Anyways, here's their address:

This place called me at my work and said they worked for harris and assiocates and i told them to contact my lawyer.

I received a phone call from an unknown number by the name of David Montgomery, stating that he was a process server and that I should call this number and a reference number that if I did not return the call I would be served a summons at my home or my place of work.

Here we go again.  Now they are calling me from 800-207-3454.  Tracy from Harris and Associates left me a message on my cell phone at 10:35 a.m. and then called my cell again at 10:45 a.m.  They then called my work number at 10:47 a.m.  They are persistent little bast--ds.  If what they claim is legit, which it is not, then I would have received something in writing, which I have not.  They have been calling me off and on now for about 4 months.  Tried calling them back once to get a mailing address of their company and they wouldn't send it to me; major red flag!  They didn't even have the name right.

Well this guy named David Montgomery called me today from 888-418-7405 telling he was a processor and game me a file number and to call back asap if i don't want anyone coming to my place of employment or my home and that someone has filed a formal complaint on me so if i want to settle this by calling to do that and good luck.....now it must be a ring load of these ppl now because i just dealt with one and now these are going to call wow they must be poor as hell to scam like they do when they live in USA i wonder who pays their salary i just want this to stop its nonsense.

Just got a call at my office today from this number say his name was Matt and he wanted to put a mediator on the phone about a civil suit against me.

I got a call too saying that they have a civil suit against me in the courts.  Same number

I recevied calls from Mr. Dan Powers too. I tried to explain to him that I paid off the payday loan over a year ago.  He basically got very nasty with me and told me that they are working with me to pay this off and that if I would have paid it we wouldnt be having this phone call.  I did try to pay this because it scared me at first but for some reason it didnt go through so he called me back to obtain new payment.  I did not return their calls and am not going to after reading all of these responses.  If they call again I am going to take everyones advice and contact the police, and or attorney generals office.  I tried calling the number back today but to no avail the number is temporarily unavailable.  Go figure. They also could not give me a confirmation number for my payment and would only say that they were calling from Arizona.  Should have know this was a scam.

DO NOT, I repeat...DO NOT give these Scam Artists any of your personal information.  They just called me again and this time I decided I would call them back.  When I provided them the "case" number, they didn't even have my name right...it was way off.  They asked if I was Marcia "someone or another".  I didn't catch the last name.  When I demanded a street address so I could send them a cease and desist letter, they said they could only provide me an e-mail address.  I told them NO!  I want a street address, so I can send them the letter certified, return receipt and I will be copying the Attorney General's Office, the FBI, the local police department and my personal attorney.  They hung up on me.  Total signs of a complete SCAM.

They have been calling me saying that I owe them for a payday loan.  Dan talked over me today and told me the I he can believe that a grown woman would be lieing through her teeth about a loan that I took out.  He also said that he has all of my bank records which I never even heard of.  He told me that if I would pay my bills then he wouldnt be calling and that he would see me in court and hung up.  He has never called my personal phone they always call my mom's phone.  Very fustrating.  I just want them to quit calling.

Mr Mike Walls called and left a message on my job and stated that I had to call him back before he will contact my payroll dept to collect money or he will send papers to the court house..Scam..

i filed a report with FTC because of these scammers....they told me to tell them to file the papers

They have been calling my cell phone non-stop, threatening arrest warrants and lawsuits.

If you receive a call from 888-418-7405, it is a fruadulent company that has hacked into one of the paydaloan systems trying to frudulently collect moneyyou do not owe.  It is the law they provide you written documentation which they never do and  can never give you their address or location this is a facless coward.  When they call just simply hang up.  Please file a report with your Attorney General's office, the FBI who is suppose to protect the  financial infrastructe (banks) in the US, and your local police department if they continue to harass you.  Do not make any committments to give them anything, these are not the smartest people ont he planet they shouldn't be calling your place of employment and the tactics (threats) they use to collect the money is illegal as well.  
Simply put blow a whistle in the phone when they call or just hang up dial tone works too!

Daughters got CALLS telling them that their brother owed PayDay loan and wanted money. I have called the phone company and plan on following thru with a fraud complaint,also going to the police. I think they hacked into Credit Card companies to get names of family and they think alot of folks feel with hard times PayDay loan is a good choice for tricking people. The loan company needs to get involved also. My son has not had a loan from them. I will try everything in my power to STOP them..

just received a call....called back & was transferred to several people....i got the talk about criminal & civil proceedings....i found my paperwork where i had paid the loan & told them i would send it to them....they gave me a fax....i told them no, i wanted an address so i could send it certified mail so i had proof and they hung up on me....hahaha...i have called back several times & they keep transferring me & eventually hanging up on me.....this place is a joke!  even if you owe money, DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY!  THEY ARE TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS & THEY CAN NOT LEGALLY DO ANYTHING TO YOU!

Rec'd three calls this morning, all before 8 a.m. (violation of debt practice law - cannot call you before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m.)  First was at 7:33, then 7:34 and 7:35.  All from RESTRICTED.  Tracy Smith from Harris and Associates said it was extremely important that I call her back regarding a file and then she provided some "file" number.  I did not call her back as I know it is a collection scam.  They never follow any of the debt collection practice laws, because for one, they are illegal as hell.  It will be a cold day in hell before I call them back.  Glad that I came to this site to see that I'm not the only one they are harrassing.  Keep on fighting them back.

A Tracy left a message intended for me on my mothers cell phone. She gave a case number and everything. Which frazzled my mother. Thankfully I looked up the number and found this page. What a scam. I also found it fishy that they did not call MY cell phone. Just my mother and my work number. Very strange.

i am actually on the phone with this company right now asking for thei info so i can search them out because they are also saying that i owe a payday loan and are willing to accept a settlementfrom me. i cannot find them on BBB oe the web.... what do i do. i don't feel like this is legit and i dont beliefe i owe the loan they are talking about.

I received a call from this company today! They left a message with a docket number, which I immediately returned. When the gentleman came on the line, he told me that I owed for a payday loan from last year. I requested written proof of debt and he refused, said that he wasn't required to give me that. I informed him that I knew my rights and he told me I had no rights, that I would be served immediately with papers. He talked over me over and over again. I told him that it's illegal to threaten over a debt and requested a written copy again. He told me that my original debtor would have provided me with that if I had bothered to pay my bills and that he wasn't required to now because he wasn't a collection agency but an attorney's office. I refuted that, he fast-talked over me again and then he hung up on me!

I am interested if anyone has any information on how to get my money back being that I was scammed by these individuals. I did still owe the debt and had no reason to believe that this was fraudulent. Any advice would be helpful.

i actually am across the country from arizona. they told me a month or so ago they would be filing charges in my county and sending out a process server within 24 hours. i do have a tape of the call as he left it on my answering machine.
i also have a recording ( i have a digital recorder, like the one you mentioned) a guy refusing to give me thier address and telling me they did not accept certified mail.
they had sent me an email with a p.o. box in it so i sent a request for validation certified mail and it came back as no such address. i saved that, of course.
and i have a recording of Robert Lange calling me a bum and hanging up because i told him about the fake addy do***ebaggery.
there are no charges filed against me in this county as i checked.
do i contact my home county courts or pima county?

In Tucson, and all of AZ a Process Server must be a court officer, there is testing, a fee, and you have to have your card, etc.

To say your a PS when your not, is a crime.  You can serve some papers if your NOT a PS, that is true, but NOT if you work for the company suing.

It is also a crime here, to serve a collection matter making it look like it is filed in court.  

So, go to the online courts page and see if there is anything filed against you, if not, then the caller is lying, tape the call, they are threatening you, and turn it into law enforcement or better write a letter to the Judge presiding over PS in Pima County Superior Court.

The company will get in SO MUCH trouble!!

And, if they are calling from a fake number they can still be found, it will just take allot of work, for example, call the National Numbering Exchange Supervisor and find out who manages the area code and prefix of the number that called, it is possibly on of the online spoof services, and they can EASY be subpoenaed to show who used them on the date in question, or how about you play along and get the POB that the company wants you to send the money too, that is even easier to trace to real party.

My point is, if they are really suing you, then they are in trouble as they are servers working for the same company suing, but more likely they are just lying about being PS and that is a criminal matter.

Since SO MANY of you here in town are having this happen, do something about it, just go to Radio Shack and get a little cheap device that allows you to tape, it is about 16 dollars.

I don?t know the law on taping without consent though, however I believe if you are being threatened, and in this case I believe you are, I thought you could without disclosing, BUT check first, as I dont want anyone in trouble for trying to catch the real crook.

Anyway, good luck, as I am a PS here in town, and I would love to see someone misrepresenting themselves as what I worked so hard to become get their dues.  Further, it is sad that those who are fake, can contribute to the negative stigma that us PS keep getting, as we have to work really hard to be licensed, and we have strict codes to follow, it is very rare a server is improper, it does happen, however very rare as we need our license for our bread and butter, and we would never want to loose that.
