They left me a message and said i won a free cruise! wat the heck?!

Answered a call from 708-897-0624 where a recorded message stating I had entered my phone number in a "win a car" sweepstakes.  The message is clearly a broadcast as it said that I "entered in a mall or movie theater."  It said if "if was a valid entry," then I had won "a trip, a car, or a TV..."

It asked me to call Chris Raves back at the same number, where I received a voicemail...

I got a hold of Chris.  This is a time-share (vacation "points" discount travel type company) called "vacation resort group" (http://www.vacationresortgroup.com/home.htm)

You have to listen to their sales pitch at a location near you to get your "scratch ticket" for one of the prizes.  I am fortunate enough that I have met with this same company once already, so I asked to be removed from their records...  

Last time, they wouldn't "leave me be" until I justified why I didn't want to buy their product (Read:  VERY HIGH PRESSURE SALES - THEY ARGUE WITH YOU UNTIL YOU GIVE UP!).  Even when you say "I am just not interested," they start offering payment terms, deals, discounts, "one-time" specials, etc.  Talk about PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about an uncomfortable situation.  I won the "vacation," which required some "Fees" in order to utilize it.  They acted all excited (like the vacation was the rare and biggest gift!).  In reality, I can find comparable deals to this "prize" on the internet...

If you are the lucky ONE to get the car, good for you.  I suspect a handful actually get the TV or some cash, but it sure isn't worth my 90 minutes...

Just received a call from this number and i have no idea how they got my cell number.  I'm still using a prepaid account and it is such a hassle because i'm being charged for incoming calls

We are a school district and these idiots just keep calling. We have 96 Trunk lines. Wonder how long it will take them to get through them all??? You'd think that when an autoattendant with a 1min message answers that their equipment would just hang up and try the next number...

Telemarketer called my cell phone number.

Ya me too . . . my number is listed on the net. I suppose this will get really bad eventually . . . my business is marketing so I understand that once the idia of snatching nubers from the net medium . . . it will become worse and worse. I suppose that those of you with our business number online, you should probabley block it from recieving 800 888 or even out of town calls if your business is only local.

If your phone number is listed on either yours or your company's web page or if you have advertised your business online like google, it is very likely you will get such a call from them. Technology is very easy, they just simply scan the web and grab the email along with all kind of phone number into their database list. Then computer start to call you and flood your email account.

I just received this call on both my cell phone numbers, within 5 minutes of each other. Stating I won a vacation cruise around Hawaii.

I am not with Cingular yet I received this annoying call.  Report them to FCC.

Received spam VM on my Bay Area private, blocked,unpublished cell phone. Re: Hawaii vacation but to call back alternate number: 800-430-1873. Is somebody at Verizon selling cell phone numbers?

Got call from this number at 2:11pm PST.  Don't know how they got my number. Very annoying. Maybe from that loser Sanford Wallace??? Perhaps Spammer "fake employer" from job hunting sites???  I am on the DO Not Call list.

Spam by telekmarter at 2:11 pm PST on Saturday.  Glad I didn't pick up.

I would like to report this as I am on the Do Not Call list.  We need to report this number and those selling our information.

Called my cell phone. Wanted me to call some 800 number for "Resort Vacation" information. I hung up immediately.

definitely an automated dialer and recorded message - my understanding is that FTC prohibits use of dialers

I called this number back and they have a recording "to get your free gift press 1" - how pathetic people can be? can't they find a real job that actually serves other people instead of harassing them?

Called my cell phone at 8:47PM PDT on March 15.  They left an automated vmail to call back and claim a prize.  My service is Cingular.

I called the number and heard an automated greeting give an option to "place your number on our Do-Not-Call list".  It forward me to a message to record my number and a message slowly and also gave an apology for "any inconvience".  I left the simple message "Remove my number xxx-xxx-xxxx.  You are in violation of federal law and you have been reported to the federal governement".

I also filed a complaint online with some details on www.ftc.gov.

Just got a call from this number, rejected the call, and a voicemail was left. Some computer-generated voice about a Hawaiian vacation, whereupon I discarded the message. Since I get a call hawking something like this maybe once or twice a year, I suspect that randomly numbers are being generated and dialed in the hopes of getting a hit.

Called my CELL phone.  Isn't that illegal?  Why should I pay to have someone use my time to try to sell me something I don't want. Don't know how I got on their list. Very annoying ...

Yep, called my TracFone on the Cingular network at 9:12 AM. I work nights and my cell is for emergencies only. I was PISSED.
