Now he's calling himself "Officer Paul Green" but I couldn't make out the rest of his message because of a heavy accent.  I did NOT call him back.  I wish these scammers would just crawl under a rock somewhere.

Beware of calls from 888-215-0632 AND 888-480-5539 indicating that they are representing the Wounded Warrior Project and that you are the "Lucky" winner of some number of dollars!
I got calls representing the claims dept and the US Customs from each of these numbers and they wanted to set up a time to "deliver" my winnings by UPS between 2:00 and 5:00 the next day
I have contacted the Security department at the Wounded Warrior Project to warn them about the use of their name to promote this SCAM

I received the same information from a so-called John Corvick and the man in Florida who calls himself Tony Mendez. There is a realTony Mendez who works for the Miami Airport, but I believe the one using this name is a fraud. They were going to work out payment arrangements for me becase I didn't have enough money for the so-called fee. I was told the check came from Bank of America in Panama. Well, I wouldn't trust Bank of America after all the foreclosures and illegal things they did to their mortgage customers. I've had scammers before and they all do something similar.

I just received that call from John Corvik from Country Crock, saying they have been looking for me since November 2012, strange since he had my email address and I never saw anything there. He used the Wounded Warrior campaign to say I would receive $652,000. by Fed Ex tomorrow between 7 and 10am. All the same phone numbers as above. I Googled Country Crock - Wounded Warrior got a look at the posts above. Hopefully these people could get caught. God Bless All

Of course I googled the number before calling back and I saw these posts. Thanks folks for letting me know this is definately a scam. I should call him back and let him know he was one a one way trip to the pokie!

I live in North Carolina, and I received the same scam as Lindad above. The call came from  #305-831-4301 out of Florida. The only exception was that the guy claimed he was working for Homeland Security and had the authority to open the package and verify the check. He threw in a reverend for good measure. I told him that I had found the procedures for his scam on line and politely hung up.

888-202-3363 A Robert Daniels with Country Crock dalled to inform me that I had won $475,000 and Fedex would deliver a package to my home containing a check from BOA.
Then I recieved a call from305-831-4301 supposedly from US Customs and Homeland Security informing me that the IRS required a deposit of 1 percent of the total to release the check. I wonder how many people are gullible enough to fall for this scam.

At 10:00AM I received a call from a guy (with foreign accent) claiming that I won $475.000 in a Wounded Warrior sweepstakes sponsored by Country Crock Butter. He stated that I would receive a package from Fed Ex between 10:00AM and 2:00PM the next day call him back at this number 888-202-3363 to confirm the delivery. He confirmed my name, date of birth, and what I did for a living as well as was I married. I went on this website a found all the SCAMS that had the same M.O.. These low lives using the youth men and women who have been wounded in battle protecting our freedom and prying off their pain and suffering not to mention the elderly just to make a illegal quick buck. My Mom called me to ask that I drive to DFW Airport, US Border Patrol, to see if Officer Thomas Randall is real. He called from 855-653-1112. I contact the Border Patrol office, and confirmed that they don't have a Thomas Randall, and none of their phone numbers use 855. Then, I found this page in a Google search.

2 Feb 2013I rec'd a phone call this morning around 10 AM (2/2/13) tell me that in Nov. 2012 I donated $1 to the Wounded Warrier Project at the super market when I purchased Country Club Butter. The caller's name was Nick McKenzie. I asked if he was from Puerto Rico because he had an accent and he said "NO! I'm from N.Y." He said I was the 2nd place winner in this drawing and I could take the money or give it to charity.  I told him to give it because I was concerned he was a scammer.  But he said if I took the money I could give it to any charity I want.  He said something about the Negro College Fund but I didn't understand that. He asked when I'd like this certified check to be delivered on Monday...between 10 am and 2 pm? or later. He said Fed X would bring it...there would be cashier's checks and 1099 forms and something from a lawyer. He asked if I had credit, debit cards or a saving account.  I said NO! I said I was very low income and had none of those accounts. He gave me a serial number for the check and a confirmation # for when it's delivered. I would also have to provide identification.  And did I want it to be private or public with photos?  I said public. He told me to be it confidential for my own protection.  Someone could steal the check but then he claimed they had the serial number.  This is the number he called from: 718-395-3159

14 h 22 min ago

Well, Monday came and went....no check between 10 am and 2 pm. Of course I didn't call Nick McKenzie at the above phone number to inquire where it was.  Thankfully I saw other entries on this site with a similar mode of operation but with different names, etc. Nick kept telling me to call him with any questions.  I hope he can be stopped before he scams any other senior citizens.  Then tonight I got a call from some woman telling me I entered a survey about WalMart and they wanted to send me a gift card for $100 and other money.  Told me to go to the computer and type on "Waka something.com...can't remember the entire site..After asking me to fill out my name, etc...she wanted me to enter my credit card or checking account so she could charge me a one time fee of $2.99.  She was very rude to me when I refused. That's two scammers in 2 days.  What the H-ll is going on?  The number she called from is: 757 913 1061

5 Feb 2013This morning, 2/5/13 I received a call from 888 215 0632 at 10:58 AM.  The caller told me he was calling from an airport in Texas because a package being sent to me was confiscated by border security. I told him " I know you are a scammer and quit calling me!!!"  He tried to reason with me telling me it was legitimate. I told him I was going to report this number to the FBI and he told me he was working with the FBI. After going back and forth he told me he was going to forget about my package.  I didn't give him the chance to ask me for money to have my package delivered.  It's hard to believe that since Friday, 2/2/13 to today 2/5/13 I have received 3 scammer phone calls.  I hope these people get caught!

Jerry Halliway called me with the $550k to come via FEDX b/w 10 and 2.  Knew immediately it was a scam but played along so I could verify this online.  He will probably call back and I look forward to telling him that he was reported to the authorities.  Will not do any good but he will not bother me again.

Prank Call
They've added a twist to the scam!
Yesterday, I received a call from someone saying his name was James Wilson - 202-595-3427
He said I'd won $650,000.00 from the Mega Millions in a Random Drawing.
The funds were deposited in a branch of Bank Of American in Panama - it's tax free - they're so helpful!
They'd send me the check and documents today... be home between 2 and 5!
This morning, Thomas Randal called from the US Customs Special Investigation Unit at Dallas/Fort Worth airport (855-653-1112) saying they'd intercepted the package, investigated to see that the check was legit, there was no apparent fraud... but the IRS and Federal Trade Commission required a 1% "registration fee". . . That's 6500.00, but the sender would escrow 1/2, so I only needed to pay $3250.00
I said I would fly into DFW Monday and would meet Thomas in person!
He said, By then the package would be returned to the sender.
I said this is a scam and you should be ashamed of yourself for committing fraud.
He said, He was a federal agent and I was wrong... I was out the winnings!
I said, You just impersonated a federal customs agent, that'll get you arrested!
He hung up!

Folks, when you think it's a fraud, it probably is! So, play these guys along! Act as stupid as they think you are, keep them on the phone for hours if you can! Then tell them just what you think of them.
It really isn't all that satisfying, but at least you keep them from assaulting someone else!
