There should be some enforced opt-in ability.  There are people who don't need reminders and would appreciate the option of not getting them.

Called twice, left no message.  Have not ordered anything.  My number is on the Do Not Call list.

I think this must be fingerhut also.  I got some credit from them before the holidays and have a payment coming up

got this call this morning. called back. its fingerhut calling to thank me for purchase and remind me of a payment coming due in a few days..

I got this call from a computer all it said that they needed to contact me about a financial matter, now that I came here I know its fingerhut. Weird why would they be calling if I don't have an acct with them?

I'm the new subscriber for a VoIP #, and on my 1st day there were 54 calls from 5 presumably creditors which I never answered since nobody else besides myself and the company who provides such line know about my new line...
About to return the line, and maybe get a brand new #, w/ no lame history...

i just recieved a call from this number and i did a reverse lookup it is fingerhut

When this number called, I called back and it was a company called fingerhut, thanking me for a purchase I had made about two weeks ago and reminding me that a payment was coming due.
There was no telemarketting scheme or advertising, in fact the whole conversation was with a computer. They just wanted me to pay my bill, which was done a few days previous and had not posted yet..
I for one, am ok with a friendly payment reminder! :-)
