I got 6 faxes yesterday from that address.

The Scam credit collection agency with Shan Nathan at CC Recover is now using a new scam phone number (703) 962-1162 ext. 809.  The on-line yellow pages is a scam and then they make a scam collection agency to collect fraudulent debt...DO NOT PAY THEM google yellow pages scam.

I too have been contacted by Nathan King.  Told him I was going to report him for harrassment.  He also played a very convincing "doctored" recording for me.  Now hearing from CCRecovery (which is part of YPLD) telling me they are going to ruin my credit.  I am going to the authorities tomorrow and see what can be done.  These people make me sick.

My experience mirrors that of all of you. I received a letter stating I owe 899.14 for an add. I called and spoke to a billigerent woman who repeatedly hung up on me. She played a recording of my 13 year old daughter where she's ok Ing the add. Then she proceeded to tell me if I didn't pay she would ruin my business credit and my daughtsrs credit. I hung up and called my sister who has worked for the same attorney for 28 years. He is sending a letter to them and to the attourney general of Texas. I am livid!!  I can't believe they could do anything to her since they don't have her SS# but you can't be too careful!!

It is a scam organization and they are commiting fraud.  The yellow pages on-line is an old fraud and cc recovery is their new debt collection agency for fraudulent bills.  Do not pay it or give them credit card information.  Report them - latest number: 703-348-8493 scam artist caller Shan Nathan.

CCRecovery.biz is registered to Richard Lesperance of 610 Notre Dame Street in Montreal.

It's an out-of-country scam.

Just got off the phone with the Federal Trade Commission.  They are aware of this problem.  To stop this you need to call the FTC and report the problem to them and they will give you a reference # and instructions on getting them to stop harassing you.

We have been receiving these calls for years. Everything is the same as everyone else has stated.  Thanks for posting about the zip code on the USPS stamp being Mooers,NY.  I hadn't noticed that.  Has anyone gotten them to stop calling? We have filed complaints with bbb.org, ftc.gov. Now we will be filing with the National Small business Ombudsman - www.sba.gov/ombudsman and the state of VA and NY attorneys general.  May 10,2012

The Yellow Local Directory scammers are hard at it in VA. Their technique sounds the same as the previous responses. One of our day care directors received a call January of 2011, soliciting for an ad in their directory. Our director does have not nor has ever had the authority to handle our advertising needs and said so. Somehow during the conversation the solicitor claimed our director indicated she had "Apparent Authority" to approve the ad on our company's behalf. It is now May, 4, 2012, and after months of back and forth communication with Nikki Jones of CC Recovery, Yellow Local Directory's collection agency, I finally told her we have no intention of paying one penny of what they claim we owe regardless of their threat to harm our director's and our organization's credit. Here is Nikki Jones' current phone number and address at CC Recovery's as of May 4, 2012: 866-747-2227 ex. 805.  1940 Duke Street, Suite 200 #100, Alexandria VA  22314.

Another thought - I went back to report this internally to the owners, and my President says they have been sending these letters FOR THREE YEARS (I was hired a year and a half ago).  Apparently they space out their sending of these bills - so perhaps they simply await a change in financial personnel and then the person taking over the accounts payable or the assistant thinks the previous employee didn't pay a bill on time and "oh NO, they are going to collections".  I bet they get paid a LOT this way...clever little b*****ds.  There is a bill of rights and collection agents cannot harass you like this verbally.  Whoever the person pretending to be "Lisa" is obviously knows she can get away with this and revels in cursing everyone out as an intimidation factor.  I feel sorry for folks without internet!  We're getting too savvy for this with Snopes.com and search engines.  HANG IN THERE!

CCRecovery did the same thing to us.  Fake Yellow pages bill, we disputed several times and tiold them we did NOT order, then I had my admin call, they doctored her responses "yes" and No"s digitally into what would sound like to a stranger as being "an order" which she NEVER made, (and they probably get lots of folks who pay them based on this or they would not DO it) yet, they would NOT let HER hear the call, then we received a "collection" notice from CCRecovery - who happens to be the same folks as the woman let it slip that they MADE a recording.  When *I* called, she volunteered that they had a recording of my admin and asked over and over if I'd like to hear it (I kept saying send me a copy and she refused but asked if I'd like to HEAR it), and then played back to me (after being totally nasty, assinine and hanging up on me).  This was a totally doctored recording of my assistant's queries to the fake invoice because unbeknownst to CCR,  I HEARD MY ADMIN'S RESPONSES WHEN SHE MADE THE DISPUTE CALL.  THEY TOOK THE SAME CONVERSATION FROM WHEN WE CALLED TO DISPUTE AND TOOK HER YES AND NO BLURBS INTO A DIGITALLY ALTERED "VERBAL ORDER" (supposedly "last April 2011) with them asking all leading question, but they didn't realize i had been there when she made the dispute call so when they asked "who do your invoices normally go to?" and she responded with information about my address, I heard her response - and it was verbatim to the supposed order.  Total scam.  Reported to FTC and BBB and CA Attorney General.   address was same as above 1940 Duke St. Suite 200 #100, Alexandria VA 22314 email info@ccrecovery.com, phone 1-866-747-2227 Lisa Langford was her "name".

This fake yellow page directory and ccrecovery are scammers, one in the same "company." I've complained to their ISP, the FTC and my state's attorney general.  Do not pay them. They don't have a case for an "oral contract" anyway.  Contract law requires mutual assent and unambiguous terms.  Misrepresentation and even mistake are affirmative defenses to contract formation.  Their chopped and spliced audio files are not admissible evidence.  The ccrecovery address on Duke St is a glorified mail drop.  Do not be pressured into falling for the scam!

UGH!!! I have been dealing with this whole mess since 2010....same story.  I will not give them a dime.  I am frustrated that there is not some gov't agency that will go after them and take them down.  None of us can afford to track them down and take them to court.  I have lost sleep over this in the past, but I refuse to let them get to me!  DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY OR CREDIT CARD INFO!!  If anyone has sent them payment via credit card....is there a way to tell what company processes their credit card transactions?  Could they be shut down from taking credit cards?  There has to be some way to stop them.

JM: Been getting calls from these idiots, yellow local directory, for a couple of years telling me I owe money. CC recovery has been calling me for over a year. Their attitude & language is fowl to say the least. I sent a ceast & desist letter registered mail 12/12/2011. Today, 01/11/2012, is the first call I have received since they signed for the letter. threatens to distroy my credit. Of course this is a scam. I handle all of our advertising for our company.
I know exactly who we advertise with. And this company is not one them. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission on 12/07/2011. I received a reply back via email. I will be contacting again today. They could care less about threats to sue etc. When they call my caller ID always says out of area. The BBB really doesn't do anything about stopping people like this. If you pay a fee to belong o the BBB, they are not going to give you a bad report. Long story short.....I'm not giving them a dime!

It is a bit comforting (and also frustrating) to read the above. Our story is barely worth repeating since it is IDENTICAL to much of the above.  First, calls out of the blue claiming we owe money to "yellow pages direct".  Then we are told there is a recording which purports to show that we asked for a service (but in fact shows nothing of the kind).  Then a call from the "collection agency", CCRecovery.  They send a bill that has now doubled in size ("legal fees").  Then there are the conversations with the incredibly rude and unprofessional Lisa Langford....based on the above, I wonder if she is the ONLY employee of that "collection agency".  She threatens to "destroy your credit"..business and personal.

We have talked to the BBB and our state's attorneys office.  This is pretty frustrating.

Has ANYONE seen anything on their credit report about this?  It would be easier to stop wasting our time fighting with them if we could be more comfortable that it won't get to that point.

I have been down the same road.  It would probably not hurt to let your boss in on this, but I really don't think you have anything to worry about.  The FTC and the FBI are well aware of these people; they hide behind mail drops and attempt to intimidate people such as yourself into paying them.

I also received a letter from CC Recovery with the same address in VA.  I called them this am and spoke to someone who was equally rude and said I have until the 24th of December (next wk), to pay $823.  This is total extortion.  She also said after the 24th, it would go on my boss' credit report for 7 years.  I would like to know from someone is the company can actually do this.  I have not said anything to my boss for fear of getting fired.  Not sure what to do.

I just received a letter from CC Recovery stating my boss owes $823.  I originally took the call and asked them if my boss knew anything about this.  They said they spoke to her (a lie) and that she wanted to cancel the ad.  I work at a hospital and we have a website so we don't need the yellow pages.  They asked questions that needed a "yes" and then recorded what they needed, but not the fact that in the end I said "no.  Now they are saying if the above amount is not paid, it will go on my boss' credit report for 7yrs.  Does anyone know if they can honestly do this.  The only thing they have is the doctored recording,  I have never received any invoices. I have filed with the BBB and the Attorney General.

I received a letter from a collection agency "CC Recovery".  On the envelope, the postage stamp states, "MAILED FROM ZIP CODE 12959" which is Mooers, NY.  But the address on the CC Recovery letter is 1940 Duke Street, Suite 200 # 100, Alexandria, VA 22314.   This PROVES that the "CC Recovery" company is a scam in cahoots with Yellow Local Directory.  

Also, I called the State of Virginia Division of Corporations and the Alexandria City and they were not able to locate a business named "CC Recovery".  Here's the response I received from the office of the city attorney, "This is to acknowledge receipt of your request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)..." and "...Please be advised that pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3704(A), the City has no records of a business license issued to or on behalf of any entity known as CC Recovery."  I spoke w/the supervisor Lisa Langford and collector, Nicky Jones.  They would not give me the company's legal name, license #, or TAX ID #.  

FINALLY, the website ccrecovery.biz is copied from another website:  NCC Recovery.  http://www.nccrecovery.com/faq/ and http://ccrecovery.biz/faq.php are identical.  The CC Recovery website does not list a LICENSE #, ADDRESS, or any REAL collection agency associations.  
Whatever you do DO NOT PAY them anything!!!

I really think they are in on it too.  I received my glorious letter today and spoke to the woman at CC Recovery who told me to F**** off when I said she was such a great supervisor(sarcastic).  I am sending my complaint to the better Attorney General, BBB.  I can't believe they can't be stopped.
