Asked for one of our engineers by first/last name. When I asked caller's name, he said it was Paul Rubio. Then had to ask what company he was with and Paul replied: "Manufacturing Engineering" (forgetting to add MAGAZINE). Sat on hold then went to little-used VM

I get constant calls from this number and have not anwered. When I do answer there will be hell to pay.  They better be ready

A man named Robert keeps calling my work number and tells people that I am under investigation for fraud and keeps calling over and over during the day.

They say they are calling to update a Information on a FREE subscription to a magazine.

I am pretty popular. I get six to seven different numbers calling me daily. They will soon give me some respite.

This dufus called my home office phone and fax at the same time. I never answer. They never leave a message. Just an annoying ring. They'll give up. I won't.

If you answer and argue, they win. There is no regulation on these calls with any enforcement teeth. Want to sue? Spend a lot of money?  Because, unless you get an attorney that is also incensed about this issue, you will pay and pay.

My way is cheaper and effective. Screen the calls. If no message was left it wasn't worth your time anyway.  They will give up.  

NEVER call them back or they have a record of a customer initiated relationship.

Heavy Duty Machinery magazine free subscription. Not interested. Called back and no answer.

Same as I posted back in November.  They call regularly but never leave a message.

This call came into my work phone # (I am a temp so don't answer the phone, no one should be calling me); noted the number on the display and looked it up. Judging from comments I'm glad I missed them. Will *NOT* be calling back.

Another toll free call

I received several calls from this number.  Today I answered and it was someone wanting to update my information for the free magazine I had been receiving.  For me, this call was legitimate.  

Calls several times a day for different people in the office.  Caller says they are with Modern Contractor magazine wanting to update our free subscription, which I tell them we don't want, and then they call back the next day to begin the cycle.

I WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!

As  I work a rotating 12 hr shift - please do NOT disturb my sleep.   There is only a message no one available please call again - same message after 3 attempts .

I think it's a debt collector for capital one.

This organization called to update my information for my free Contract Pharma subscription.  They do these updates of contact information periodically.  They do continue to call if you do not pick up.  If you have signed up for a trade publication, you have probably invited this attention, and can expect them to "try, try again."

Been getting calls from this number and when I called back they do not pick up.  The message was that no one was there and there was no way to leave a message.  Based on what I read above, I blocked the number from my phone.

My system to beat this people keep calling me..  Never answer any calls that are out of state.

John-   No they are not "out to get you". We just don't care for their methods. If they get to a voice mail, then they should leave a message with info and a LEGITIMATE return phone number if we are interested. They should not call and let it ring 50 times (and did that 3 times at that!)........That is rude and discourteous. How would you like it it if we constantly bugged you?!

So you work for them......nice try, I been dealing with you annoying people for a long time.....YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER.

Since they didn't leave a message, it must not have been that important. After reading the posts here, I blocked the number so it will never come thru again.

Got this call, caller ID show 888-514-2665.  I kept the line on mute, and they wouldn't hang up either.  So we just hang on like that for awhile like 5 minutes, then they finally hang up.

They continue to call my work number, but I don't pick up.  NOT GONNA HAPPEN kids.......

One important point:  Even if you use a VOIP phone, with your caller ID blocked to the receiving party, your VOIP phone number will show on their screen, if you are calling any 800 series of toll-free numbers.  

I have proved that by calling an Internet business to enquire about buying something, and then they soon called me back, even though my VOIP number is normally blocked to all other non-800 series numbers.  I did not give out my number to them verbally, so the only way for them to know what it was, is for them to have read it on their screen, when I called them that one and only time.

They call my work number but never leave a VM.  If it was important they would.  Therefore, I don't know who it is but that it's certainly junk.

Yup, 9:21am they called again today. As usual...STRAIGHT to my voicemail. Dense folks.

We get several a day as well as we're a manufacturing firm in the US.  I've been telling these callers that the magazines get thrown away at the PO so stop sending and save a tree.  This helps sometimes and I'm not getting as many calls.

I no longer even humor answering the incoming 'Toll Free' call that starts with 888.... considering the number of times they get hung up on with no answer, you'd figure they'd quit trying.

Called again; sounded like may have been a man this time, but I simply picked up the call and then hit "hang up" button. Will continue to do this every time I see this caller ID pop up-don't even bother to answer with company name.
