These are legitimate numbers, belonging to businesses that have gone out of business. There are porn sites that surf the "800" number databases and purchases these numbers from that company.
They then use them to sell porn or invite people to chat for a fee. They do not change the company name to theirs. When you answer it and there is actually somebody on the line, itis a erotic chat or porn employee tempting you to make a purchase using your credit/debit card. Yes, it is a scam.
