Just received a call the same message word to word, I fill a shell card and I wonder they took my information (scam),sick and tired  these boozo

block the num. they are scammer

I also received a message to about noon stating the same thing.

I got the same call several times. The scam changes. Today it was from "laura King" exactly like the message JB got a couple of days ago (see two above this one). I'm not calling back and not planning to be here from 12-5 tomorrow either. Eventually they just go away.

Got the exact same message about 4 hours ago. Did not return the call, nor do I intend to because we do not have any outstanding debts so I know it is a scam. Have heard similar messages before and no one ever shows up to follow through as suggested in the message.

Received numerous calls from this number before about having paperwork for me.  Got a new call today from the same number (888-540-3774). The female voice claimed to be a private courier by the name of Laura King.  She said she had sealed documents that required my signature and that I must be available at work between noon and 5pm. She said I would need 2 forms of valid ID and that one of my supervisor or HR rep must also sign as a witness (scare tactic?). Then she said if I wanted to speak to the filing party with any question or to stop the delivery to call 770-450-6182.

this guy has called me and said the same thing....

888-540-3774 called one of my friends phone asking for me. Said they needed to contact me to serve legal papers. I have an attorney and contacted them immediately. He called the # back and it is a scam. DO NOT give the caller any personal informsation.

If this is a scam and I call them was that a bad move. What should I do to protect myself

I recieved this call saying the same thing. I knew not to call back because of the vagueness of the message. I had heard about the scam where they have you call back and once you've opened your line they keep it open for international calling without your knowledge. BEWARE of this scam. A lot of phone companies will not remove these charges.

I received a message from the same Peter Cambria calling from 770-450-6182 stating they are had tried to contact me at work and home about delivering some papers. It stated to call 888-540-3774 by 5pm today but didnt ask for me specifically. With all the other posts about this phone number I will not be calling them back.

I just got the call and actually called the 888 number and was greeted by a recording that said "this will be a recorded call. If yu don't want to be recorded hang up". I waited on hold for about a minute and then hung up. Not calling back again. I agree, this sounds fishy.

I have been receiving calls from this company for over a month now. They keep leaving me messages that they are Investigator so and so and they are investigating possible check fraud. I don't use checks and haven't for years so I blocked the number and ignored it. They started calling from a different number so I just called back. The woman who answered the phone asked me to verify all of my information including my social security number. I declined as I have no idea who they are so I am not giving them my information. She very rudely told me I called from the correct phone number so she would tell me what I owe. She said she was calling to let me know that I had an outstanding $500 balance from a payday loan back in 2008. I have never taken out a payday loan in my life. I tried telling her this and was very threatening telling me that I need to pay it or they would be taking me to court. I told her to go ahead because I have no idea who they are and I don't owe the balance. She kept threatening with what would happen so I hung up.

Just received an identical call from Peter. Seems fishy and questionable. Use caution.

I got the same message from the same person.

I have had this number not only calling my cell phone, but my teenage daughters as well.  If I return the call before 8pm the company states they are Thomas and Crist.  If I call after 8pm est it is called affiliates receivables.  The name of the person is not in their register list.  I called my local authorities and they stated this is a scam.  There are no papers on record for me, or any court information as to why this company would need to serve me with papers at home or my place of employment.  I have reported the number they better not call again

i just received the same message as all of you and as soon as i  said i was calling the authorities they hung up.

Just received a call by an Atlanta, Georgia phone number: 770-450-6182. I did not answer it because I didn't know who it was. I too, received the same message regarding paperwork and they claim they have tried to reach me at home and my place of employment and ask that I call them back by the end of the business day at 888-540-3774. I have never received any other phone calls or anything in writing. I called the 770-450-6182 number back and learned that it was a company by the name of JC Associates Asset Recovery, basically a debt collector. Considering the fact that I have no debt and I just ran my credit report on Monday of this week, I do not believe I will answer the phone should I receive another call from these jokers.

Just received the same message, said Peter Cambria has been trying to reach me at work and home, for paperwork?? I have an unlisted number, and received a call a few days ago, and the person knew my first name. This was after applying for jobs on snag a job, craigslist and indeed. I wonder if one of those companies sells our phone no.?????

That's exactly what they just said in message to me. Im so sick of these calls. What terrible people.  There sure is no privacy in this day of so much privacy

They just called me 5 minutes ago and I get a call every few days. Its so frustrating.
