annoyingly time waster people.

There is, it's called the Federal Trade Commission

They said they were from CIBC and tried to scare me about identity theft and sell me MyIdentityAssist.  From the above posts it sounds as if it may not be a scam, but it sure sounded like one.

Got a call today 22 March 2012 , It is the CIBC "my Identity assist" online credit card protection plan. 30 day free trial and cancelation at the low price of 24.95 a year.. sounds Like an Indian call centre. and as usual with the bank it is being recorded.

I've had repeated calls.  They let it ring till I pick up, then hang up.  I *69 them to verify that's who's phoning.  I haven't left a message, as that seemed pointless.

I got a call yesterday and no ID showed, just the number.  Tonight it came with the ID--It says "MyIdentityAssist" Here is the link for the information, it is from CIBC so if you have an account or Visa card with CIBC that is why they are calling. https://www.cibc.com/ca/credit-cards/services-security/myidentity-assist.html

They call and then hang up.  We receive a call from this number once a day.

I had this number call me often.The first time I answered and she stated that she was a CIBC representative, selling online fraud protection. I told her I had to talk to my spouse before making a decision and to call back. I never answered that number again. Low and behold I started to have unauthorized  ebay and paypal purchases, accounts that I did not use. I wonder if it is related. So be careful people!!!!!

I get a call once a day from this number. I just called back and got on the DO NOT CALL list. The message says it can take up to 30 days to get off the list!

I was told they are calling to see if anyone is home. They repeat this many times to find patterns of when you're home and when you're not.

Happy I typed the number and did a search as I can see from here I am not the only one getting this call (2 today)...I have yet to have anyone speak when I answer but after reading this I will try not to answer anymore...thanks to all who.

I get a few calls from this number everyday and when I answer they hang up.  It's so annoying!!!

Yes, it is a call about identity theft representing CIBC.  I called CIBC visa and they said that it was not a scam.  However, like you, I did not trust them and like your experience, they talked and talked.  With this identity theft, they protect your information on many things like your passport, credit cards etc.  However, who is to say that when you register all your stuff, that the actual Identity theft would not be hacked?  I'm not doing it.  This system of marketing makes me very angry because it is annoying and unwanted.

got a call today and listen to the lady go on and on and on about she was from CIBC Visa. It was about protecting your self from Identity theft. ..not sure if it was on the up and up but had to hang up on her as she would not shut up when I said no.

I've gotten three phone calls from that No.

Call them back. The message will guide you thru how to enter your phone number on their Do Not Call list.

Started calling me once/day. I answered the first time and they instantly hung up. I dont answer anymore.

Anyone know how to get rid of these losers yet?   I don't have call block features with my phone.

I just got called by that number.  I wish there was some organization that we could report these annoying scam artists to.

I am also receiving daily calls. Just don't answer.

kept getting a call, and when answered no dial tone, voice, or anything. Now am getting spam messages from a johnbloton901@yahoo.co.uk. I am really bothered by this. Apparently if I text 'stop' to the message I willget no more messages. I tried calling 888-556-5659, and got put on their do not call list

Have been getting calls once a day for a few weeks now . I usually don`t pick up just because these kinds of numbers are generally scams
A few times I did pick up and all I got was a dial tone.
I don`t get it ,so I got fed up with the games and blocked the number .
Too bad so sad for you ,who ever you are that is calling .

I get 1 call per day for the past week from this number.  When I pick it up, I get disconnected.

simple solutions shoild not have my number.
