Called my local TD branch, they verified this is a real number of TD Bank, terrified me because I paid a past due balance with them before verifying anything.

Don't shout & take some personal action. Look into call blocking app's for cell phone, & blocking device for landline. Yes, in a perfect world you wouldn't have to. We lock our cars & houses, don't we? Think of your phone the same way. They can't scam you if they can't reach you.

Calling too many times every day. Even before the time they are allowed to call. Had a few calls at 7am!!!

They call me many times a day everyday trying to make me say "yes" or my name. They identify themselves as a car service.
They never leave a voice message.its always the same voice, a woman, very intimidating. These calls are very close to harassment. I don't know how to get rid if them. I asked her to take my number off their list, then she hangs up and call a few hours later.

Fake TD Bank phishing scam. If you are getting this call, it is probably because the fraudsters want your credit card number.

Just called the number on the back of myy cc 888-561-8861 which is one digit off, and asked them if 8862 is also them and they said yes and had the record of the phone call to me. So no it's not a scam. However it's always good practice to not give info but call them directly if ur not sure.

TD Bank Credit Card. If you are getting this call, it is probably because your payment didn't go through.

I'm an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at a busy business and we are always getting calls from this #. We have gotten as many as 10 a day and its really irritating!!! They have all been hang-ups and when they do this, for some reason, the busy sound that it makes is 3 times louder than normal. Wish I could do something about this.

They have called me like 8 times asking for banking information claiming to be with a credit card company - It is a complete scam

They are NOT TD Bank! The number is similar to TD Bank, but not the same! They are a SCAM!!

They called me 10 times yesterday and at least 5 the day before. I have a TD bank visa and it is due on the first. I forgot, as I often do with this one because it is on the first, to set up the payment. They have been calling non-stop since the 2nd. I paid it online the second. I would tell whoever answers the phone when I do, if it wasn't always a please hold for an important message recording, so I hang up!
mj 2012-03-03 17:45:34 Unknown
It is TDBank. If you have the Visa through them. I have gotten three calls today alone, and it is only two days late. I know late is late, but come on three calls in one day. And after the first one, I went on line and paid the bill!

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

I recently received a call, and the caller ID displayed 000-000-0000. Surprisingly, a message was left. It was garbled, but I think I was able to make sense of some of it. It appears that someone named Kelly REPRESENTING TD Card Services said I shoud call back at this number on a very important business matter. How did my caller ID device get to display 000-000-0000? If the so-named Kelly REPRESENTS TD Card Services, what company does he/she work for? DOES HE/SHE REALLY THINK THAT ANYONE WILL CALL BACK ANY NUMBER THAT IS LEFT IN A MESSAGE THAT WAS SENT FROM PHONE NUMBER 000-000-0000? With all the phishing schemes going around, and hearing/reading about the unscrupulous and illegal ways certain credit agencies operate, it's a wonder that not everyone is afraid to call back any number that is left in a very mysterious message
Just Another Poster 2011-09-08 01:46:01 Unknown
I received a call from telephone number 000-000-0000 (that was the number displayed on my caller ID). The voice message that was left was barely distinguishable. It asked me to cal 8885618862on some urgent business matter. If the company/institution name was mentioned, I could not make it out. The message said they called yesterday and I did not respond. I have been getting calls for months from 8885618862, and this is the first time ever a message was left. How did I get a 000-000-0000 display on my caller ID? I would love to call back these people and have 000-000-0000 display on their caller ID.

If the poeple that call say they are from a bank, for example, they should not have a problem with giving us the bank's corporate headquarters telephone number, and we should be able to verify if the person calling us is a legitimate employee of said bank. Do any of them even leave messages if they encounter an answering machine or voice mail?

Good advice. Deal only with the appropriate company (Bank Of America, Citibank, GE Money Bank, etc.) by calling the appropriate customer on the back of the card or on the statement. If they want to transfer you to collections, BEWARE ("collections" may be an unscrupulous agent or agency acting outside (or just barely inside) the law)!!!
No Holiday 2011-07-04 03:10:25 Unknown
They have called me five times in two hours today, the eve of independence day. I have declared independence from collection agents and agencies, and why not? With all the warnings out there about how unscrupulous collection agents only seem to rip you off and bully you, I agree with a previous posting in this "blog", and I will deal only with the institution(s) directly. I SIMPLY REFUSE TO DEAL WITH COLLECTION AGENTS AND/OR AGENCIES WHICH MISREPRESENT OR DO NOT REPRESENT THEMSELVES AS PROPER PROFESSIONAILS!!!

They introduced themselves as citicards collections, told me that I owe two months payment, provided me with an unspeakable amount to pay and requested I pay it by phone.
BEWARE and tell all your elderly relatives
