I also have been receiving calls from this number.  Same thing; when I answer nothing happens and they hang up.  Fortunately, I have a free incoming calls plan.

The first time I received a call from them the woman kept asking me questions about my sprint account to 'verify' my info, then tried to tell me I'm eligible for a free line of service added on to my phone.  At hearing that I hung up because I gave them bu***hit answers to their 'verification' questions which were info sprint would not have ask to divulge, they would have asked for the answers to my security questions, not about how much I spend and how many minutes I have and such..

This is Sprint.  It's a customer service effort to help people get into the most economical plan for their usage history.  Unfortunately it is not well thought out.

1.  They are calling you on your cell phone and causing you to use minutes.

2. After the first recording, a well known Sprint voice, they have a young woman come on to tell you about "... extra charges on your most recent bill."  and "... review your account with a ... representative."  Regarding my account htis information is not true.  So why am I getting a phone call and why is this information presented by an unprofessional voice in an unprofessional manner.  This sounds like a scam and that is how most people will treat it.

3.  Sprint corporateeither has a few screws loose or they are just trying to run up your minutes.

Sprint fraud had trouble determining if this 888 number was genuine or not as the representative they were speaking to refused to give them an ID number as requested by the fraud representative.

I had a long speakerphone conversation with a supervisor at this 888 number while I had Sprint Fraud listening in on my other cell.  The rep and the super had difficulty with the english language.  the rep has trouble understanding what I wanted as did the supervisor.

I ended the call angrily instructing the super to never call either of my cell phones again and waste my minutes (this was the third time I had been called).

The fraud representative took my complaint which I requested to be forwarded up the chain to stop the calls from going out or at least have instructions for the customers to call *2 to get more information.

Everyone understood that I shouldn't be getting any more calls.  We'll see...

I have a missed call from this number just now.

Sprint has messed up our bill and service charges several times - charge us for services we didn't sign up for, wrong bill shown in their system so that we didn't have chance to pay the right amount when we went to pay the bill before the due date, and thus we got charged late fee, and etc.

I guess I will switch after the contract expires.

This is sprint calling, they say there are extra charges on your bill, and then they try to get you to extend the contract and offer you a $70 credit on your next bill.  LOL seems like deceptive advertising....Maybe the FTC would like to hear about this.

The calls from Sprint does not STOP.  I have told the callers, in a polite manner to please stop calling me on my cell phone & hanging up.  I have sent e-mails to Sprint's Office of Privacy, which promised that it will stop.  I informed everyone that my number is listed in the national Do Not Call list. But it still doesn't Stop. HARRASSMENT?  YES!  Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish and that bothers them.  Bad reputation for Sprint.

Has been calling me every few days, very irritating.  I don't answer.  I figure it must not actually be Sprint or it would probably show up in the Caller ID as such.  My money's on some scam wireless provider.

Either way, I don't know if it's possible to actually block these calls, but I just added it to my contacts list as "ScamArtists" and for the ringer for that number, I select "none".  So it'll still show up if they call, but at least the phone itself won't ring.

P.S. re above... When I asked the rep to note my account that "I never wanted to be called about renewing my contract, that if I wanted to make a change or renew I would call THEM," he said he could not do that there, but gave me an 888 number to call to accomplish that.  It was the number for the Do Not Call Registry:  888-382-1222.  Which makes me think that they are subcontractors or "freelancers" and not Sprint proper, since a company you do business with has a right to call your phone number even if you are on the DNC list, as I understand it.

It is the Sprint "retention" department.  A computer dials your number, which is why you get airspace sometimes when you answer -- the rep has not picked up the call fast enough after being alerted by the computer that it is a "live answer."  They are calling under the guise of getting you to let them "review your plan or your phone equipment to see if you are being best served."  In actuality they are hoping you will take them up on some "special offer" or upgrade your phone, so that you will renew/extend your contract with them.  It looks good on their "books."  A contract for service is considered an asset in the accounting world.  They report these figures to the public and stockholders.  The Sprint reps, when asked, claim to actually be Sprint employees, and not subcontractors, but in any case, when asked directly if they are from the "customer retention" or "loyalty" department they will admit that they are.  You could save the number on your cell phone, programming it so that number will show up on your caller I.D. as "Sprint Retention" or "Sprint Sales" so at least you will know what it is next time.

Called by this number for two weeks. Each time they called they would hang-up and call back up to 5 times. I called sprint *2 and asked them to block the number and the rep said they can not but she will contact the marketing department and ask them to note the account. The marketing department called me back asking for which one of my lines this number was calling and said she will add my number to their system and the calls will stop but it may take up to a week for the stop to be implemented. She also offered a $5 credit per month for 24 months.
