my husband and i were approved for a 10,000.00 dollar loan. Frank boston and daniel price were the ones we spoke with. First they said we needed to have 4 payments upfront total=1260.00, then it would be faxed back to us in 24hours max. Then the next day they called back and said because our bankruptcy was so recent that the "lender" required another 4 payments up front which we sent another 1260.00. After we did that they faxed us a guaranteed 3 hour max to be wired to our account. Then they called back and said because my husband denied to have insurance on the loan that the lender was going to deny our loan unless we paid an extra 1000.00 dollars for insurance, by this time i was in tears because we had already given 2520.00 but we were in desperate need to get this loan or either get our money back which would have taken 7-10 business days to get back to us.... so we sent the 1000.00 for the insurance, because yet again they faxed us after that that would be it!!! He promised us this was legit and it was not a scam the paper work looked like any other loan papers would look like. I have called the BBB of conneticut and the state dept. of banking and the FBI secret service... and basically the only thing people have been telling us is that were just out of luck that we probably will never see that money again. In total we lost 3520.00.... not including in what I had to pay for the moneygrams. We lost all the money we had in our checking account and savings, How do people get away with this????? I have been destroyed by this SCAM!!!! and know that there is nothing I can do.

Loan scammers. Don't fill out an online application at www.equistar-financial.com. I was contacted by a Daniel Price & Frank Boston. First, Daniel Price claimed I was approved for a $15000 loan but needed the private investor fronting the loan need the loan ammount to be insured. They asked for $1000 upfront either towards an insurance policy or $1533 which would cover the 1st 5 payments of the loan. They faxed over paperwork which looked legit so I wired the money. Big mistake. Once they received the initial $1000 for the insurance policy they claimed the private investor still needed another $1000 or $533 for the "down payment". Then I realized this was fishy and did some investigating. Too late but now I'm harassing them daily until they give me my money back.

I was contacted by this company on 8/07/08 @ 12:05pm from phone # 416-958-0000. A gentleman by the name of William Browning left a voicemail message stating that I had been approved for a $5000 loan and for me to return his call for the details and left me a phone number of 1-888-623-2142 ext.223 to call back on. I immediately returned the call and spoke with Mr. Browning. He stated that I was approved for a $5000 loan at 9.5% interest rate and 36 month repayment plan with a $159.74 monthly payment. I was to pay $798.70 for 5 months worth of payments upfront. He faxed me the documents to sign and stated that all funds would be deposited into my account within 24 hours of me forwarding them the $798.70. I faxed the paperwork back to him and then hesitated and proceeded to do some research on the internet. Also tried calling back the original phone number that showed on my caller id. I received a message stating my call could not be completed as dialed. I then called Mr. Browning back and explained to him that I was not interested anymore because the research that I had done stated that this was considered an "advanced fee loan" and that it is illegal and a scam. He proceeded to try and convince me that they were completely legit. I told him that I would continue to do research. I then called the State of Connecticut Department of Banking and found that the company did not have a banking license number.
The sad part about all of this is that the money was to help me travel to Georgia and spend a few weeks with my dad who was just recently diagnosed with cancer and only has a month to live. These scammers have no cares about things like that though. When I first got the call I was in tears thinking I was going to be able to go be with my dad but....now I am in tears knowing that I will not be able to be there with him.
