No one ever gets served by these kind of groups. It is a total scam.   This group is essentially a mall-rat/kitchen table debt scamming organization.  They are not interested in going to court, they are interested in scaring people into giving them money for what amounts to worthless old debts.  They generally have a lot of information on the people they call.  WHich makes it scary.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT.  DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THEIR THREATS OF JAIL AND ARREST AND THAT SORT OF THING.  Civil debt is a civil matter.  No crime involved.  

If crimes are committed only the police and prosecutors can take action, NOT DEBT COLLECTORS!

Has anyone ever actually been served papers from these people? Is it a scam?

I received a call from the same people this morning at my place of employment stating they would be here Monday to have me sign for an intent. very helpful what everyone has put on this sight. the number they called from was 888-783-4057. So I called them back and told them I would be contacting the BBB. And law enforcement would be called upon their arrival. They hung up on me. Imagine that.

However mine was for someone else.
I called them and they said that my husbands name was on as a reference for the person they called. This is my cell, not his, and only Verizon knows that. Very worrisome how they got my number, I have only had it for about 6 months. I reported them to BBB.

When I spoke with a person there, he said they do not make outbound calls, when I said they had, and someone was lying, he said "yes, you"
Very rude, I told them I was recording the call, and he was not so rude. I have the first call on my voicemail and would love to pass this on to someone who wants to go after these creeps.

I received a phone call today from a Derek Hamilton 8883240361actually he left the message on a family members phone not actually him but I guess the dude who is try to scare ppl because when I was on the phone with Mr. Hamilton I could hear that same voice leaving the same message he left for me stating he would be to my house on money the 7th to serve me court papers for check fraud and attempt to defraud a financial institution with false information at first he blew me because I was sleep and my family member said this is important and I began to think about it, I did not have a check account since 2004 and it was a savings account I used to take out the loan, but I tried to contact this loan company but they said they did not have me owing them anything because they debited the account for it and the bank paid it because I was withdrawn and had to make that deposit so they took the money from my direct deposit I had coming in, I called him back and told him if anyone shows up to my door they will be arrested he said why is that I said because you are a fraud I reported you to the fdca and to the authorities and I gave them your name and extension which is 106 he refused to give me the address. I am so thankful for social media because if it wasn't for postings like this I would have been their victim because of fear. Thanks social media.

I received the exact same message on my cell phone today.  It appears we have the same service date and everything. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well.

This business, whomever they are, is calling cell phone numbers of my family members and leaving messages (which I have saved) on their cell phones.  They have contacted my step-father on his CELL PHONE which I never gave out and it not listed.  They contacted my brother-in-law on his CELL phone which I also never gave out and is not listed.  

1)  How are they getting cell phone numbers to my family members but haven't called me???

2)  The messages they are leaving on my family's voicemail is private and confidental.  I have two witnesses to this.  The message goes like this (I have a recorded version saved on my computer that my brother-in-law sent to me via email:  "10/5/12 at 11:52am.  This message is intended for Jaime Geyer, claim number 106021, this is Angelo Delrosa, I am contacting you today in regards to an order that was submitted to my office this morning and I would like you to be advised that I do have a request for you to sign a certified notice of intent for you to appear in court for petty litigation and is regarding a claim that is being placed against you.  Now at this point you do have an opportunity to contact a mediation firm to discuss this matter further.  They can be reached at (855) 216-9798 and to be perfectly clear, it looks like you are being placed on my schedule for service for Tuesday, October 9th, so unless I do hear differently, I'll be out to see you at your residence or place of employment at that time.  Jaime Geyer, excuse me, you have been officially notified, good luck to you."

Don't let these people try and scare you with their tactics.  I asked repeatedly for a written validation of debt as well as the original loan document I signed, and they refused.  The only thing they (Recovery Processing Systems) would say is I would receive a confirmation that the debt had been payed in full once I did so.  Ok, so they'll give me some phony receipt.  Great.  They also asked if I was hesitant to pay because of the amount and I told them that wasn't the issue.  I don't care if they say i owe $100 or $1000....I just made it clear that if they can't give me an official written document stating that I truly owe the debt, then we have nothing to discuss.  
 
Another guy who said his name was Shawn James has called me everyday since 2/13 saying he is serving litigation papers to me on 2/15.   He called again this morning to say he was coming over.  Today is the 15th.  It's now 4:30pm and he hasn't come to my door and I don't expect he will.  Earlier posts are correct....a legitimate process server will not call in advance to warn you.  Also, if you ever have something go to collections, it will be listed on your credit report as a delinquent account.  This alleged debt is no where on my report.

One more thing....I looked up Recovery Processing Systems on the BBB website. They have a grade F rating.   If enough of us file complaints with our state attorney general and the FTC, hopefully these losers will be shut down and be found in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act.

Got a call regarding Recovery Processing Systems.  Said i had a court date in 2 days and this was an official notification.  Prob was it was on my brother phone???  AND you can serve someone via phone, or voice mail for this very reason!  They had the wrong number!  Anyway I'm ignoring this as any official court summons would come via mail or in person.  If they call, get address and send cease and desist letter.

I found the web site. However, when I called the place they said that the office was closed. They called about a loan with " Payday Loan Team. There is no such group. I called and demanded a validation of the debt!

well these people was suppose to show up with intent papers on july 5th 2011. i haven't seen anyone yet and, this is july 9th. i contacted an attorney and, he stated that these types of scams have been going on for 2 years and that, if they call back to contact the authorities. i have been getting harrassment calls from a person named michelle black via work, cells and, friends numbers. the attorney stated that ther have been thousands of these cases accross his desk. he states that these companies hack payday loan files and, they recieve all customers info. this is very scary. if you recieve another call, i advise you to contact authorities. my checking account was also hacked by some company called blue star. i have never heard of this place in my life. before i realize my account was being illegally debited, they had taken almost 300.00 dollars out of my account last year. they were taking 35.00 out at a time so that i did'nt catch them. i  realize when my account was overdrawn and my direct deposit paycheck was down to 136.00. please watch your accounts people. there are crooks waiting to scam you. god be with us all. lee

Got a call from "Mike" on my work phone. First how on earth did he find this number. Second he informed me that a Affidavit would be sent to my home or place of work on the following Monday if I did not call the 888-633-2049 number. I do not even write checks so I have no idea what he was talking about and told him that. He said take it up with Recovery or I would have to appear in court. I did not call them and he repetitively called me every morning and left messages. Guess what no one showed up at my home or work. Its a scam. I have not heard back from him in 3 weeks now.

Just received a call on my cell phone from an UNKNOWN caller. My voicemail clearly states whose phone this is yet the caller left a long message for my husband (using his full name repeatedly) and that there was a special claim filing against FULL NAME and that he was coming to our house on the 19th (today is the 17th) if FULL NAME doesn't call 888-633-2049 immediately.

Using phrases like "sign for certified filing", "case filed against your social security number" the caller was clearly trying to lead me to believe that it is a COURT case and that the caller is a service processor (they don't call and WARN you their coming, the element of surprise it their ally).

Never did the caller warn this was an attempt to collect a debt or that it was a private call (the message was clearly left on someone ELSE'S phone number).

I will be reporting this company to the Ohio Attorney General as well as sending them a cease and desist. Their practices are ILLEGAL.

I own checks but only write about 2-3 a year and all accounted for, so i know this call is bogus. Seeing the last post just confirmed my suspicions.
