I don't own a Citibank card or Lowes, matter of fact I got rid of all my credit cards except Macy's and they will be next as soon as I pay it off this month, so I don't know why I'm getting calls from these people unless it is fraud! pisses me off because I have young kids so I keep my phone near me at work and I keep getting interrupted with these calls that I have to check to see who's calling because of the kids but it doesn't look right to your boss when you are constantly looking at your phone!

I get several call a day from this number..... 888-638-9718. I'm on a no call list
Bob 2012-05-15 19:54:39 Unknown
Been gettting calls from the same phone numbers starting at 8:00 a.m. I answered the phone, was citi/home depot. Told them I was making a payment on the 18th of May. They said ok but will still get calls Until it goes through. So I closed the card, IT'S NOT WORTH THE HASSEL I'll stick with the LOWES card, much better, they don't keep on calling.

I have received 5 phone calls from this number 5/3/12. First call at 8:35 a.m. and 3:06 most recent.
BOB 2012-05-01 21:38:13 Unknown
They keep on calling all hours of the day & never leave a message. If they want you to talk to them why don't they leave a message. So annoying.
Jim 2012-04-13 14:37:26 Unknown
I have been called repeatedly (5x per day) the past few days from them. Claim to be Citi group calling to ask about an EXXON credit card that I do not have. Wanted me to "confirm" information with me (yet they wanted me to give them name, address etc) so that they could get my name off their list. It's clearly a scam trying to phish information from people. Don't tell them anything. Caller ID comes up as 800 service when they call.
gary L 2012-04-09 13:25:11 Unknown
amen to that. We should call them and see how it feels.
garyl 2012-04-09 13:20:13 Unknown
I keep gettting the same call but i think its Discover card. I looked it up before and thats what i found out. I got calls from another 800 number and found out it was best buy.
bob 2012-04-06 12:47:01 Unknown
Ralph is right you A**les...take a course in credit before you apply for a credit card...Home Depot doesn't finance themselves and neither does any other credit card..there is a bank...yes a bank that finances for ALL credit cards...do some research before you morons open up an account and make sure you can afford your payments. and yes it is a real job that i also get paid $13 bucks an hour for and when you hang up on us it just makes it that much easier
bob 2012-04-06 12:39:29 Unknown
how else are we suppose to pull an account when a customer calls back...and yes it is citibank if all you people on here would pay your bills then you wouldn't get the calls...that simple
bob 2012-04-06 12:36:39 Unknown
and if you paid your bill you wouldn't of received the call in the first place you idiot. And yes we will call back until you pay it up to date
888 638 9718 2012-03-23 20:50:40 Unknown
You work for them, don't you? Get a real job before they have you calling you!
Chris 2012-03-20 14:36:02 Unknown
That number has called me every other day like while I am in class at 8:30am.
So annoying while I am trying to study.

What a bunch of Idiots, pay your bills on time and stop complaining, take some responsibility for your
Actions...Duh! The call is designed to put a bug in your ear and drive you crazy until you pay your bill, Guess What? It WORKS! By the Way, I'll bet all of you voted for Obama, If you do it again there WILL be a Law saying You Must answer every phone call, say good-by to freedom and Hello to property of the Government, you will do what Obama tells you...
Brittany 2012-03-15 13:05:36 Unknown
Good luck getting rid of them. They have been calling my house for about 6 months now. They never answer or leave a message when I answer. I don't have a citicard or any outstanding debt. I have tried calling back and never get an answer. They will not stop! They call 5-6 times a day, sometimes. It's getting really old, but what can you do?
Ralph Nader 2012-03-14 14:52:32 Unknown
Thats probably the same attitude you take with your bills which is why you are behind and recieving calls. Like I said I don't work for them anymore! I'm just trying to save you some hassle. Don't blame the company that loaned you money for calling when you haven't paid it back.
FraudBuster 2012-03-14 14:43:43 Unknown

This indeed Citi Cards. How do I know this? I use to work for them. Just to set a few things straight. First, no matter what your work schedule is, ALL state laws permit credit card companies to start calling past due accounts at 8:00 am for your time zone. They are able to continue calling until contact is made with the PRIMARY card holder, up to 8 times a day. They are not required to leave a message ever. In almost all the cards we handle we never leave a message. Citi also handles about 40 different retail store cards. If you are receiving a call from that number it may be an account you did not realize was handled by Citi. When you call back in the agent you are talking with has absolutely 0 info about your account in front of them. They are looking at a blank screen with 3 options in front of them (account number, social security number, and phone number). Contrary to what you may believe or may have heard, those are the only ways they can access the account. The amount of info they are required to verify may seem a bit overboard, but if they fail that verification and someone happened to get a clients info from them they can and more than likely will be fired. What you must remember is this is just somebody's job. Nobody who works at a call center likes their job, but it is a job. Yes the auto dialing system is crappy, but they aren't going to change that so get use to it. Try not to be so hard on the people working there. Trust me I didn't agree with a lot of what we had to do, but it was my job and I needed the money so I asked whatever they told me to ask. After working there 6 years I can tell you the easiest way to get a credit card company off your back is to try and work out an arrangement with them. If an arrangement can't be made then send in a cease and desist letter and they'll stop contacting you period. Hope that helps everyone out. Oh last thing, calling in and being a smart a** or saying things like "get a life" don't help your chances of getting good service. We did get a good laugh out of it though.
REALLY?? 2012-03-12 19:15:31 Unknown
They are calling me at work!
Rich In Austin 2012-03-06 15:18:16 Unknown
These are company's who buy uncollected debt for pennies on the dollar. What one has to be careful about is providing them with any personal info that they can attach to the debt.. Even though they cannot do it legally, they will always reference the data after that and pressure you into believing it's yours.
Also, never even vaguely committ to a negotiation because it's possible that it will establish obligation on your behalf and then you will never get these guys off your back.
Best thing we can do is look at caller i.d. and not answer.
EMP 2012-02-17 22:16:36 Unknown
Same as all of the above.... so dumb.
Oreally 2012-02-17 20:35:20 Unknown
They called me then hung up.
I called them back
They asked for my account number
I said what account number
They said they could look it up by social security number
*click* I hung up
This is a scam if ever I heard one.
George. 2012-02-17 20:12:27 Unknown
They called me I allied tem back. They asked for an account number. I was like way account. They. Say we can look it up by your social security number. I am like *click*(hung up)

I work for a fairly decent sized business. I got a call from them just now and they asked for a person named Cody. Well we have a few fella's by that name here so I asked "Which one?" I was then hung up on. If you're going to call a business and make the receptionist miss a few calls for your crap at least have the decency to tell me WHICH person you're calling for.
TiredOfCalls 2012-01-20 15:31:01 Unknown
I spent 15 minutes on the phone with Citycards and got a list of calls THEY made in the past two months to me. They totalled two (2) and they were in reference to a charge for getting glass replaced on my car. When I asked them about calls from 888-638-9718 and 859-283-8074 they ASSURED me that it ws not from Citycards or Citybank. They instructed me to NOT give them any information concerning my Citycard and to ignore the calls would be the best way to handle the calls.

Gotten several calls repeatedly everyday. They say they're from Citi Credit Card with my GoodYear card which has a late payment and I need to pay the fee. Just to mess with them I ask them if they know my information and when they can't answer I tell them to find a better job and to stop robbing people. Their reaction is priceless! They usually don't call back.
bugged 2012-01-16 15:45:58 Unknown
This number is NOT a bill collector, or ANYTHING LEGITIMATE. Ignore them or call the police to report violations of NO CALL.
THEY ARE FISHING FOR ACCOUNT INFORMATION FROM YOU AND INTEND TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY IF YOU'RE STUPID ENOUGH TO TELL THEM ANYTHING.
THEY GOT YOUR NUMBER BY RANDOMLY TRYING OUT DIGITS IN YOUR AREA CODE UNTIL SOMEONE ANSWERED.
DON'T FALL FOR IT.

I get calls from this number 4 or 5 times a day on my cell phone. Some very early morning hours, some late at night. I never rings long enough to get to the phone to answer it, and the one time I did, it disconected. If this is actually Citi Card, I have automatic with drawl with them, so they are not calling about late payments. Previous posts makes me wonder....
