got a call from them about 12:55 pm today, bad connection and trying to reach me (used my first name) and were calling from technical support. I laughed at him and hung up.

This IS a scamming outfit. They have been doing this to people I support, who own computers. They said they were calling in reference to my computer, and then hung up. I have personally cleaned up messes from the moron in several systems. Reliable companies do not call YOU to tell YOU your computer has a virus. They don't have the time do that. Also, how would they know you are infected? You should never allow anyone into your computer that you did not initiate contact with. EVER.

Caller indicates that she is calling from Georgia with a micro soft company and wants to access my computer from her end. Just wondering if this is some form of scam
