I just got a call from this number. It took a while to connect to a person but it was CAA. I got a letter from them a few weeks back asking me to become a member. I just told him I was interested but I was a student and I was dirt poor. He said he'd make a note of it and hung up. He was really nice. First call I got from this number. I know they got my number from a Petro Points Card I signed up for.

What a nice rational humanbeing I talked to with a perfectly respectable job. Let's leave the hate for the people who are actually scamming us!

I got the same call.  If it's CAA, they got your details from PETRO POINTS.

Why is this allowed?

It could be anything, could be next day somebody breaking in your home. DO NOT GIVE any kind of information or the best JUST IGNORE calls from this number or any other number you do not recognize.

Petro-Canada sells them your number through the Petro-Points program.

Been calling me like every other day, sometimes a few time a day. Been going on for the last month or so. How did people find out its CAA? I am a member of Petro Canada points though.

This number has been calling me for days!!!! its always the same woman who calls!!!!

They keep calling my cell everyday and hanging up when i answer! its getting annoying...now i saved them in my directory as a number not to answer! wasting my daytime minutes!!

Looks like CAA running more scams!

CAA - something to do with Petro Points - sounds sketchy to me.  They got testy when i told them to make a note of my number and to never call it again.

The point is those on the other side are calling different people and not just you or me personally. So it's not some important news. Blocklisted directly from the phone (happy to have that function).

Keeps calling

Keeps calling once or twice a day. Picked up twice but it just hangs up.

Offered a deal only good for today, but it turned out that I could get it for less on the CAA website.

I have only lived in Canada 6 months - and do not have a job yet. Where would these people get my phone number to call me? The caller is a persistent salesman who will not take NO for an answer. When I am ready for this type of membership - it will definitely NOT be with CAA.

It gets CAA roughly 50 new memberships a day. In my books it's a GREAT idea!

It is an outbound direct marketing call centre (telemarketer) for Canadian Automobile Association.

If you have it, make use of your "call display" feature.  If you don't have it, think about subscribing.
I simply do not answer calls that are "unknown", "private" or have a suspicious name/number.  Also, I shut the ringer off and rely on the display light to alert me when the phone is ringing, even then, I still make the decision to answer or not.  It's great for those times when you do not want to be disturbed. Learn to sift out/shut out the intruders.  Find and maintain your peace.

I work at the call centre that calls all of you people. A lot of the people that we call we get their number from Petro Canada Points. If you don't want to get any more calls just tell the people calling to take you off the calling list. DON'T GET ANGRY WITH THE DIALERS. most of the time if we think you're being a do***e bag to us we'll set a call back for an annoying time. Just ask politely to take us off your list and take the 15 seconds to hear us out because a lot of people jjust say "TAKE US OFF THE CALL LIST" then hang up. WHat you don't get to hear is that it takes 5 to 7 days to remove your number from the call list.

And this is not a scam we are a legitimate promotions department with CAA
