I used to work got this company. The employees don't even use their real names and this is advice from management. So the name they give you when they call is made up. Your information is sold to us and we would call in hopes of you having a credit card with enough money on it so w can charge our fees to it. Thats how you qualify for it. The lowest fee is $995. I quit working for them after a week of listening to these dishonest calls and then repeatedly calling people back and harassing them. Do not do business with this company.

You people are all upset for nothing, this is a CC # we are talking about not your checking. They droped my rate from 23% TO 8% on 20k, just last month. This did not touch my credit.  If you think you can just call the banks and they will drop your rate, think again, BOA and Wells Fargo had me paying back a good 60k on the 20k I owed on my Credit Card balances. The banks are full of s*** and at least these people were not with me.

I received a call telling me that they could reduce my Interest rate on my credit cards. The name of the caller was Marques Battle of Financial Strategy.  He tried to get my Credit card number in much the same way as people note above, but to no avail.  I just thought the whole thing sounded implausible.  I told him I would call my Credit Card Co. and then call him back.  But I decided to look up his Company on line and am glad I did.

I hate to tell you this, but unless you manage to get through to them, you will not be getting the full amount back.  Their "Terms & Conditions' are worded such that they will hold back $75.00 plus whatever shipping and handling and restocking fees, which is 15% of the cost of the item.

My father received a phone call from this number and was talked into buying their product.  When the package arrived a few days later he had no idea what is was and could not even open the thinkpad!  Calling back the toll free number is a waste of time and it takes DAYS to get return phone call!  My father's card was charge $1695.00 and the thinkpad was a USED 2005 model!  I had to go to the BBB to get any results, and then the company refused to refund the full amount, citing ther "Terms and Conditions".  Please do not let yourself be a victim!

Do not, I repeat, do not give them any information!  This company is only interested in lining their pockets by selling refurbished equipment and what boils down to plain old common sense.  Their Terms and Conditions is worded so that the cosumer has no chance at all in getting the full amount of what they had been taken for.

I have received a call from this company who wanted to reduce my interest rate. They had all my personal information. They put me on the phone with a supervisor, who wanted to reduce my interest rate for the fee of % 995. I said no, no, no. I do not want to do it. I am afraid this is a fraudulent company, and that they will charge this fee anyway.
What should I do not to be scammed by them.

My dad received a package from Financial Stratagies this Saturday.  It contained a notebook and a refurbished IBM Thinkpad that he didn't even know how to open!  There was nothing showing that an account had been set up, just a copy of their terms and conditions along with a postcard to refer a friend and get a $50 VIsa card along with a magnet.  Attempts to call the toll free number were fruitless due to a 'huge volumn of calls and please leave a name and number and we'll get back to as quickly as possible".  You have 14 days to return their stuff, BUT you have to provide a authorization number along with the return or else you don't get your money back.  He was charged $1695.00 on his credit card.  The laptop and the notebook were shipped USPS priority mail with NO bubble wrap to protect the laptop and the thing doesn't even work!  The BBB is going to get another complaint to add to the list.

I got the same type of call today from Thomas Johnson, but it was an Austin, TX number. He spent 30 minutes on the phone with me trying to convince me that they were legit. He said they make there money from the CC company - a portion of the interest saved?? It didn't make any sense to me. I told him I would research the company and call back if interested. Way too fishy for me...

My 82 year old mother who just lost my dad--her husband--received a call tonight from Financial Strategies and spoke with young woman named Nicole Longo.  Same speak as above--had card info, SSN last 4, etc.  Of course my 82 year old mom thought she was so sweet and that she would be able to have interest rates reduced and pay off credit cards in 2 years.  You need to realize that we had so much debt after my dad's 3 year illness, we did not have $$ to pay final expenses--had to charge them.  My mom sits and worries every day how she can pay bills, nursing homes, buy groceries, etc.  Then this company scams her out of more than 20% of all she has left in the world.  DO NOT WORK WITH FINANCIAL SERVICES.  She thought the company would re-negotiate rate with credit card company, but they merely sold her computer program--mom doesn't even own a computer.  Really, how do these people sleep at night?

I did a lot of digging online and finally found following info, but it was NOT easy:

I was having a "brain fog" moment when these people contacted me, and I stupidly enrolled in their program. I thought it was $9.95 to enroll - not $995! I called back the same day and asked to unenroll. My card was not to be charged nor was anything to be sent to me. However, they sent me a package anyway and charged my card. Now I have to pry myself out of this mess and get back as much of my money as possible. Stay away from this company!!

I just got a call and looked the company up online while the person was giving me their spill.  As soon as I mentioned their BBB business rating (C- based on what I found), the caller actually hung up before I did.

My mother (in her 70s) actually got the first call from this one.  The lady said her name was "Chanisse Curry".  The same spiel as mentioned above was given to my mom about reducing her cc debt on anything with an interest rate of 13% or more... My mom told her yesterday evening to call back today, after she had a chance to speak to me about this as a possibility.  I came on here and looked up this board and crisscrossed the phone number, BBB page, their name, etc.  When I saw they were no longer affiliated with BBB and they had a D+ rating, I knew it was exactly as we had feared.  The lady DID call back a moment ago.  She defended their rating by comparing their company to WalMart.  She said if I would look up WalMart, she was certain they didn't have an A+ rating.  I told her I wasn't being solicited by WalMart, nor were they trying to get personal financial information from me.  When I asked her how her company made their money from this "great offer" she said she was "just a qualifier" and I would be quoted additional information from her supervisor after I gave her complete information on at least one cc in good standing with an open line of credit available.  I asked for my mother's number to be removed from their list and for them to not call again.

I took a call from this number last night, and was informed the call was in regards to "my excellent credit rating, my excellent payment history" and "an opportunity to reduce the interest rate".  The caller was Cashawna Bryant from Financial Strategies in Atlanta, GA.  She stated that my credit card company/companies provided my information to their company; name, address, phone # (home), a "general balance of credit card debt" and... the last 4 digits of my Social Security Number. I told her I thought the information she provided me was (too) easily obtained from my credit report, which we all know we can't prevent companies from looking at, when we haven't initiated a transaction with them.  I told her I thought she was fishing for information. Thought I'd play along. After confirming the information mentioned above (which I believe is part of the sales pitch; especially correctly repeating the last 4 digits of your SSN) she asked for the name of a credit card issuer. I asked her why she would need the name since she stated they gave my info to her. I wouldn't give it to her. I told her none of this makes sense; my credit card company would fork over my info to another company so THEY could reduce my interest rate?  Why wouldn't the company "just do that", or at very least contact me themself?  She politely informed that she could report to the credit card company that "I was not interested"... I stated "so WHO would you report that to? The company you are trying to get me to name?!".  I told her I wanted to investigate her company and she should call me back in 24 hours (which will be tonight) and I will continue the conversation with her.  I'm going to record it if she calls back, I doubt she will.  I also just saw the BBB rating that stormchaser posted; this is nothing more than another sham company probably hoping to get a poor senior citizen on the line.

This company has only been in business since March 2008 - there were a member of BBB but that expired in July 2010 - rating from BBB is D+ and reviews indicate alot of consumer disatifcation.  Recommend you find another company that is BBB accredited

I received a telemarketing call at work today from a company called Financial Strategies stating they would help me cull down the high interest rate on my existing credit cards.  They told me I had a very specific amount of debt and told me I was paying too high an interest rate on that amount and they could negotiate a better interest rate for me to help me pay down my balances owed faster.  But the catch was if the specific cards I had would be qualified for this aid.  They wanted to spend too much time on the phone with me and wanted personal financial information which I chose not to share.  I asked them to call me back on Saturday.  I won't be at work on Saturday.  Does anyone know who this company is and whether they are legit and how they got my work number and my specific information?
