yep better shut that card    down if ever in  question from messages contact the number on your card never one from the text or email

I got a text message from an unverified-sender.
all it said was "BankOfAmerica Notice. Please call 866-617-8294"
it was from 860-476-4435;
I called from a different line and it was an automated system that asked for my information.
I don't own a Bank of America card.

It is indeed a scam. Do not call the number, and if you did, call Bank of America immediately.

just got the same one.... put my card number, then my expiration date, then it asked for my pin. then i stopped and hanged up. any damage can be done with what i gave?

It's a scam, I opened up my skype and because it's a 1888 number I don't have to pay for it, skype won't show a phone number, and Now I'm just leaving it running ALLLLL day and night.  Someone is going to have to pay the bill for the toll free service, and it won't be me.  I would suggest everyone do the same, just dial the number, don't enter in any numbers or anything , just let it sit.  hahahaha...

a recording asked me to enter my card number.

Got a text message saying to call, 1 888-750-6845, saying my card was blocked.

hopefully not ghost, i would call your bank tho and let them know what happened and see if they could answer your question on that.

I do not have a boa visa card. I called it and all I did was let it ring. I am going to report it to tmobile

don't respond this is a phishing email that if you call you will more then likely get an automated system that  will ask for your card # and possibly pin# and after you input it, the system will hang up=  they can wipe out any acct with this information == always call number on back of your card only-- I got the same email-  but I work in a department that sees this type of fraud- if you called the number then change your pin immediately, and call the number on the back of your card to report

I also got a txt msg from onlinebanking@alert.bankofamerica.com saying that my card i did not have was blocked. Thankfully I looked it up online first and found this site.  They need to find out who this is, because obviously pleanty of us have been hit up with it.

Got the text message today. I have ATT and live in Austin. The call back number was 1-877-202-3006...a$$holes!!!

Got a scam B of A text message.  Don't have a B of A card. Knew it was bogus, called the 888 number anyway.  Tried to get a live body to pick-up so I could give them a piece of my mind.  Didn't work.  Cowardly b*****ds.

I received this same text message and knew it was a scam, for one I do have a BOA card, but the text said Visa and mine is a Mastercard. I have not had a chance to report it yet, but I am going to now after seeing all these posts...My carrier is also T-Mobile too, was this something that happened to only T-Mobile users?

What will they think of next. Just so happened, BOA closed my 2 cc accts in January of 2009

wife's AZ t-mobile phone was txt'd with this, luckily she asked me about it.. good ole' google to save the day!  i saw some other t-mobile users, i wonder if they are targeting that carrier??

Received cell phone alert about blocked card from onlinebanking@alert.bank of america.com/Visa

I got this text message at 8:30pm on a Saturday. Knew it was a scam. Reported it to my bank this morning and they do have a fraud division that was glad to get the entire text message. It is sad but this kind of scam will probably get worse.

Got the same text message and reported it to BOA.  I hope they go after whoever did this.

Looked up this number and saw that other people had been called and this was a fake.

Cancel your card now, they will not wait around to use your info.

just got back, and found that they disconnected me after 2hours 43 minutes. hahaha...think they realized that they will end up paying alot for the toll free number now. hahhaa...tried to call back and now no answer. hahaha...

But I have mistakenly given my card number to that bank?What should i do
