Same crap..they are deliberating fuzzing up whatever made up name they pretend they are calling about to see if anyone is stupid enough to give them information.  They call  my home phone which always bounces to my cell so I can block bad calls.  For some reason this goes to voicemail and its the exact same message everyone else gets, includinig the if you continue listening blah blah blah...(((Sigh))) every 3 months there a new one.  Cruiselines, free trips, credit card services, power companies, car warranties, debt collection.  Soon I'll start getting the grandchild lost overseas call and can I wire money.  There must be a lot of suckers out there, because this creeps will. not. stop.  Have A1 credit and have no outstanding debt that is  not paid on time every single month.

Call recorded 18 February 2014 (Debt Collection robo call)   from (888) 769-3076
Caller ID: not observed

Called recently from: (347) 348-0611 | (732)  305-8349 | 305 222-7101

For over one year, about every three months or so I receive automated debt collection recorded calls asking for a "Mindy Lay-he" (phonetic spelling of what I hear). I can tell by the difference in recordings each time that an unsuccessful effort leads to the debt being sold to a new collector who is now seeking "Mindy".

My wife has had our phone number for over 35 years and there has never been anybody named "Mindy" at this phone. Perhaps "Mindy" has a similar number, or perhaps somebody just furnished a fake number.

I forwarded the call to Google Voice so I could record it (see below) and present you with the following partial call transcript:

(missed portion "...if you are not...") [text to voice synthesizer] "Mindy Lay-he" [recorded voice] please hang up or disconnect. If you are [text to voice synthesizer] "Mindy Lay-he", please press 1 now. Please continue to listen to this message. There will now be a 3 second pause in this message...By continuing to listen to this message you acknowledge you are [text to voice synthesizer] "Mindy Lay-he"  This is a call from First Credit Services. This communication is from a debt collector and any information obtained will be used for that purpose, please contact our office about the step by calling 1-888-769-3076. Thank you."

Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear the recording of this call on my Spam Calls web page:

Just received an automated call from this number.  We let unknown numbers go to our voicemail.  The caller stated a name of who they were calling, which was not us. Then to the answering machine said that if we were not the person they were calling, please hang up or if we were that person, please press one.  We didn't do anything.  They stated there would be a three second delay, and then stated that since we didn't hang up it would be assumed that we were indeed the person they were trying to call.  Then began going into that person's debt collecting issue.  They were talking to a MACHINE.  How in the world can a company give commands to an answering machine and it be assumed that if you don't hang up, they are giving notification of debt collection information to the correct individual????  This should be illegal.

I have received two calls from this number. The first time, I answered and was told to hold on while I was transferred to another person. Similar to some other stories, once the person on the other end picked up, they acted like I had called them. When I told them that "They called me", the said they could look up my information if I gave it to them; I told them I was not comfortable giving them this information and if it was a true debt collection they should have that information already. The person on the other ended responded with, "Well, have you ever had a gym membership?" and I said yes, but none that would be needing to collect any payments from me. The person on the other end again told me to hold on, then the call dropped (as if they had hung up).

The second call I let go to voicemail.

Similar to everyone else, nothing has been sent to me via mail, I am positive I have no outstanding debt (especially with a gym) and the whole thing seems very odd to me.

Called by this number, asked to indicate I was me.  Then one guy answered, and acted like I called him.  When I said, you called me he asked me to hold on.  Then another lady got on the line and asked for my number.  I told her that she called me.  She said she could look up my information if I would give her the number.  I told her no thanks and hung up.
I had a gym membership in dispute about four years ago - long since resolved - maybe they were just going through their old files - but don't call ME asking for information such as the number you used to call me.

2 calls in 2 weeks - bad auto voice mispronouncing a name that is similar to a nick name of someone in my family.  Call back and find out it is First Credit Services (NJ).  Twice now I have requested that I receive, via US Postal Service, whatever documentation they have regarding this supposedly unpaid debt.  They keep talking and wanting personal info.  I refuse to release ANY personal info (and if they are a legit collector they would have the info).  To my knowledge I have no debt, I have very good credit.....so.......I call SCAM!!!!
