These scum have called me a few times, and as others have stated, they are rude. Here are some words of advice to those new to the "Phone Bandits,"
DO NOT ANSWER TOLL FREE NUMBERS, they get your name and number because THEY are paying for the call.
DO NOT CALL TOLL FREE NUMBERS, they get your name and number because THEY are paying for the call.
Two places to go to express your concerns about receiving these types of calls are:
" ftc.gov "
" fcc.gov "
That is in the UNITED STATES *ONLY*
If you don't know the name or number, DON'T ANSWER THE CALL! If they ask if you are ? If it is not you, then hang up! If they ask if you are and it is your name, then inform them that they MUST identify the COMPANY NAME they are calling for, and their NAME. After that you are on your own, DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS, OR ACCOUNT NUMBERS, OR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS. Be responsible, and use good sense.

F*** the banks and the money changers who work for them. When the fiat system with their 10% fractional reserve banking system collapses you will be out a job. Maybe you can get a bailout at taxpayer's expense like the rest of the vampires who profit from misery and other people's misfortune. It won't be so funny when you lose your job telemarketing job.

I received a small card in the mail with a hand written address asking for someone to call Kathy at 314 216 4195 or "Toll Free" at 1-888-780-3994 ext 2164195. When calling the 1-888 number, I get "Card Member Services" asking for the extension of the party and then a 16 digit credit card number. When calling the 314 number, i just get "Kathy's" voice mail.

Put the number in your contacts list and assign it the ring tone "no ring", It won't stop the calls but it will make them easier to ignore.

That may backfire.
There's no such thing as a "new" phone number. Your new number belonged to someone else, possibly as recently as a few weeks ago. You'll loose your pest but may get the pests looking for the person who had the number before you got it.

I started getting messages in July I believe for my deceased parents who have been dead for 8 and 2 years. I just deleted the messages. A few weeks ago I happen to unfortunately answered a call from Elan Financial Services. This man started telling me how he left all these massages and it was my obligation to called back. I asked who was he, what was he calling about, which he now reside in VA. at a National Cemetary. They are dead. We need death certificates sent us. I said I don't think I am doing this and I am not telling who I am due to the Privacy Act. I don't know who you are and why you are calling. He said "you people in Calif. are something else!". Then he said he'll check with Social Security. Good and hung up.
They started in a couple weeks ago. I got a letter with an amount for less than $170.00. By now I would think their costs are approaching close to the debit which will put them into red! Yes. Next is letter siting the FDCPA regulations under the Federal Trade Commission regarding harsessment by collection agency on a debit which not my legal responsibility. When I send certified letter return reciept and file a complain with FTC then it will cost them $1,000 every time they contact me. Hopefully they will realize the bottom line for $170.00 and the cost of fines and possible penalities for harssement.

sceptiCAL 2009-05-18 22:46:02 Unknown
Uh, wrong. This number is NOT US BANK affiliated in any way shape or form.
sceptiCAL 2009-05-18 22:44:57 Unknown
888-780-3994 IS NOT comming from US Bank. It's a lie to trick you into revealing contact information of someone you're aquainted with.
copper1 2009-03-18 11:20:02 Debt Collector
Not sure if this is US Bank although, I doubt it.. It is certainly a Collection Agency. I get calls from this morons all the time. I don't know them and I do not owe anyone money. If you do then you know the answer and you cause the rest of the world with the same last name grief! I will post their business name soon as for five bucks you can run any number.. Call the Federal Trade Commissions to report them...

My mother has received at least 20 phone calls from 888-780-3994 within the last month looking for someone else. The callers won't identify themselves; they won't let her speak to a supervisor; and they don't believe her when she tells them they have the wrong number. She has asked them repeatedly to remove her from their calling list; they ignore her pleas. My mom called this number today, and the number was to a "credit card services." My spoke to a customer service representative and explained the phone calls; the woman told my mom that her number had been removed from their list, only to be returned to their calling list today. This is the second time they told my mom that they would remove her from their list. Obviously they're not being honest.

We received a call from 1-888-780-3994 which left a message stating they are from US Bank and asked for my husbands name. They said they had called earlier and the call got cut off and then left a phone number for us to call back. We called back the phone number, and the phone number provided was to a "credit card services". No mention of US Bank. The phone number asked you to input a credit card number. My husband and I do not have a credit card with US Bank or any type of account with them. We spoke to the customer representative that came on the phone and the customer representative started to ask personal questions. Such as SSN, full name, etc. We did not provide any personal information and told them if you already don't have it why are you calling us. BEWARE.

This number is calling my Dad daily. He is ill with cancer and my last living parent. Today after returning from yet another medical appointment, he got another call. He has told them to stop calling and that he's not the same person they are looking for. They even asked "is your SSN last 4 digits _ _ _ _" and gave out 4 numbers of someone else's SSN! Totally unprofessional. I spoke with "Robert" tonight and told him to take my father off the list or I will call the police. He said my Dad's number was marked as "do not call" but wasn't taken completely off the list. WTF quit calling, your harassment is no longer acceptable.
