called my cell twice today and then hung up

i pick up the phone there looking of my dad he wasn't home so i took a message.
ten or twenty minutes later i call from my cell and told them the house phone and told them no one by that name can be reached at this number. she starts saying aaaahhh we just left a message to his son at this number haha she was tripping out hahaha.longer story short she wont be calling back.

Told him I would purchase a bus or train ticket to my location just to beat the hell out of him, give him a good a** stomping!! He would not agree to my offer and hung up. His company says I owe money for merchandise purchased, I told him that must be my older brother if in fact there were purchases, however, I told him he was (my brother) was in Federal Prision for justifyable homiside serving a 60 year term.

They keep calling here. They refuse to answer any questions when my husband asks them what they are calling about. They can take a leap for all I care. Maybe they will get samart and see that I'm not taking their calls.

i received only one call from them (so far, thank god), and that was a few weeks ago.  i saved the number as "DO NOT ANSWER" in my phone.

they said they were from a collection agency trying to collect money for a book i ordered.

i asked what book.

they said it was a gardening book.

i do not garden, never have, and if i ever do, i'll go online to find info or go to a store to buy a book.

I had been getting statements in the mail claiming i owed this money.  they started when i lived at a temporary address... and i had given the address to nobody!  all of my mail was going to my previous, then-permanent address.  how they tracked me to that address, i'll never know.  i've since moved and they've followed me.  i first ignored the statements, then followed the "write us a letter to dispute this" instructions, then the "call us here to dispute this" directions (of course an automated machine put me on hold.  after a couple minutes, I decided I didn't want to sit and wait to argue with someone, so I hung up).  

when this "collection agency" finally called (months later, mind you), i explained to them that i had followed the directions to dispute these charges.  he claimed that that "was out of his control and the company had taken it a step further." what company he's referring to, I still do not know.

i told him i wanted to know when i claimed to have ordered the book.  he said it was between 2000 and 2001.  ummmm... he didn't even know an exact date?  or year?  way to make a case.  right then and there i decided this was bogus and i wasn't going to give them any information.

i told the man to go back to the company, tell them to stop calling me and asking for money, because i DID NOT order anything from them, i've never even heard of them, and i never want to hear from them again.

so far, so good... but who knows.

same here. They just called and said that I owe money for some books I "purchased" 3 years ago. WTF?

These garbage bags have been calling lately. Even called Christmas eve.No inf, name , number, etc. Must be crooks as I owe no money.

Calls every once in a while on my cell phone. Leaves voicemail which says to hold for a minute. Never identifies who is calling or the nature of the call.

These people call me repeatedly and ask for personal information. However, they refuse to give me their name, company name, address or a reason for calling me. Has anyone had any luck confirming who they are or where they are or why they are calling?

This number calls daily , sometimes hangs up, sometimes puts me on hold, sometimes gives me a name and says if you are not ____ then hang up.  Is this a collection agency for someone that previously had this number. The number has been ours for 3 years but these calls are increasing and never about us.  I'm wondering if we can block the number and may be considering filing a harrassment suit. I've spoken to them once and told them to remove the number and they say they will but do not do so.

I receive calls from this number on my cell several times a week. Yesterday, I answered. A man said, "Do you live at 2222 Blank St? I said, "Who is this"...he said "My name is Ron. Do you live at 2222 Blank St?" I said, Where are you calling from?". He said, "M'am, I told you my name was Ron." I swore at him and hung up.

I called back and a woman answered. I said, "Hi, can you tell me what company this is." She said, "Do you live at 2222 Blank St." Then, I really let her have it. She ended up hanging up on me.

My husband has been receiving call from a company a couple of months ago saying he ordered some book that we never paid on. (some girly book) We informed them that we didn't order this book and so they gave him his old address he lived at years ago. He asked when this was ordered and they couldn't give him a date. About a month later a collection agency called tring to collect on this. I told them that my husband was in the Navy and that I pay the bills and have a POA. They then stated that we needed to pay on this but wouldn't give me any other information. I told them they wouldn't be getting their money and hung up. They have continued to call back at least three to four times a week. I've just keep telling them they have the wrong number. By the way it seems to be the same guy each time. The last time I answered it was a lady though. By the post before me I think this may be a scam so beware!!!!!!

Got the call today...seems like collection agencies are recently finding EVERYTHING in my wild youth i never paid for...anyway, answered the phone to a woman with an Indian accent (very hard to understand)who asked for me by my maiden name. I said that used to be my name but that it hasn't been for over three years.  She asked if i still lived at blah blah blah.  I asked what company she was calling from, she said National Recovery Agency.  She then explained she was representing a book company.  She told me the name of the book and said I owed $46.25 and asked how I'd like to pay for that today. I told her i didn't want to pay for that today and asked her if she could mail me the information and I'd take care of it.  She said that she was a collection agency and did not have permission to mail me anything.  ???  Funny, because she asked me to verify my address, which was correct.  She asked me to set up a post dated check which I told her I wasn't going to do and that I'd have to call her back when I had the money since she wouldn't mail me anything.  She seemed fine with that.  Hopefully they won't call again for a while.

Has been calling every night between 7:30 and 8:00 pm I do not answer, NEVER has left a message on my machine!

I get calls every month or so since before November. First time was at work. I explained I could not have personal calls at work. She would not stop asking questions. She told me my name and address, asking me to verify it. Said she was with NRA, but would not tell me what she was calling about. I asked her to send me paperwork, but none has come. I have gotten several calls, but they never leave a message. I usually ignore the calls but last night I answered it again since I was at home. A man with an Indian/Pakistani voice said he was from NRA and trying to collect a debt for a book I supposedly ordered "a few years ago"and probably forgot about it, then "How did I want to pay for it today". I explained I never ordered that kind of book and refused to pay for it. Are people really gullible enough to pay for things over the phone without any kind of bill or paperwork?

Call was from "Charles" at NRA (a collection agency) for "George Elion" and the message was "if you are not George Elion don't listen to this message and if you listen then you are acknowledging that you are George Elion" (so much for privacy, etc. Left the number and said he would be there from 4pm to midnight every day and to call as soon as possible.  Of course, if you call the number back there is one ring and a dead line.  And, by the way, the call is from someone with an Indian/Pakistani accent.
