Called asking for my mother who lives on the other side of the country. Can never get a live person. I will just disregard. Just wondering why they called my number intstead of my mother.

This number is calling my ex-husband's cell number but asking for my name. I don't have his number listed for anything..documents..credit..etc. they are calling locally with the number 901-881-8916, but said to call the 888-825-4495. couldn't make out the name of the lady on the phone. My ex has blockd this number from calling his cell.

These frauds and scammers also starting using 703-763-0726.  While this is an exchange in Woodbridge VA, I suspect that this is another phony computer generated number.  My comments above still apply!

I think this is an alleged collection agency engaging in blatant frauds!!!  Their local number here is 703-763-0717, supposedly in Woodbridge VA, which might be a scam, computer generated number, as they want you to call back on 888-825-4495.  The voice on the message is a very annoying English-accented woman, with the usual condescension.  The debt they claim is a fraud.  The whole concept of what they are doing is a fraud.  Call your local or nearest office of the United States Attorney, since what they are doing is a serious Federal criminal offense.  The only way to get rid of these criminals is to report them so they can be investigated, prosecuted and locked up.  If you know where the nearest United States Courthouse is, there will be an office of the United States Attorney in that city, or find it on the Internet.  Don't delay or be afraid - call them!!!  For all you know, they could have your (stolen) SSN and send equally fraudulent data to the credit bureaus and ruin your credit rating.

I received a message on home answering machine from 501.574.9337 looking for Sue Bixler (they had last name as Bixter) but I knew who they wanted.  My husbands EX wife of 30 years.  How they got our number I don't know unless she gave it to them.  On her behalf, we have only had this # for one year so not sure she did that.  Anyway, they wanted the call returned to 1.888.825.4495.  I called it back and gave them her NEW cell # (I know this b/c they have kids together) and asked that my home # be deleted from their records.  
If they are calling MY house for someone that DOES NOT live here, why can't or why won't they tell me why???

they have been calling me for a few months now and all i get is a recording asking for someone i have never heard of. when i call the number back to stop  the calls, i cant get a person on the line. needless to say im tired of the calls. has anyone been able to actually talk to someone from this company?

it is a collection agency. never can hear their name clearly. they always use a local area code when calling and want me to call back using this number.

Company called Apelus keeps calling never stating about what they are calling but they make at least one call a day.

um if i was you i would get an attorney about that matter. It doesn't totally sound legal and you should get it it writing.  They're willing to cut deals because they've paid penny's on the dollar for your dept and want to make money off of you.

It's a collection agency. They called us and when we finally got a person, they are trying to collect money for a bank that went under 12 years ago, and sky bank bought the accounts.The bank "has been" charging us a maintenance fee for an  unclosed/inactive account for the last 12 years. 3.00 a month sure adds up! We've called as many people as possible to double check that this is not a scam. While it is BS in my opinion, it appears they can do this. The good news is they are willing to cut deals.

Got a voicemail with a woman calling, identifying the company as Appellis, saying, "this is not a sales call" and that I need to call 888-825-4495 back right away.  No other information.  (I find it rather coincidental that I'm now getting calls from this number after I finally filed an FCC complaint about 800-392-4029 a few weeks ago.)
