In the past my mother in law would take care of my husbands payments too Futura. Well now i'm taking over the payments and for the life of me I can not get ahold of anyone. I've called more than 10 times today and left 2 voice messages. My Mother in law mentioned too me that she spent all day Thursday and Friday calling too get threw too make the payment. And no one would answer her calls. She says she has to go thru this every month. That is ridiculous. How i'm I suppose to pay for my husbands loan if no one will answer or return our phone calls. I refuse too pay a late fee. We always make the payments on the first of every month. It's already the 3rd and i'm getting no where. I've tried looking up information too call a different number or possibly send an email. But I get nothing. Is there an address to this company? I can just write out the check today and mail it out if possible. PLEASE SOMEONE RESPOND BACK TOO ME ASAP!

How do we get a 1099 from your company?  Do you have a website to go out and get your interest paid?

Futura Financing is strictly a servicer and not a collections agency. We apologize for any misinformation during the transition originally from Tuition Options to our company, If you are concerned or need confirmation of the loan transition please contact the financial aid office at your current or previous school and they can consult your official ledger card and confirm your loan's transfer. Please bear in mind there are only a few representations servicing these loans due to the volume of loans so if you do not reach someone and get sent into a voice mail, please leave a message and a representative will contact you.

Futura is trying to steal people's by double billing them.  This is illegal and should be prosecuted.

Futura Financing.  These people call even after I made payments.  And they call at 8pm most of the time.

Paralegal, you should have received notice from your previous lender, not Futura. I agree that the Futura statements are not very informative which is why I also ignored them. See my post below. If you were making timely payments to your previous lender after Futura took over then the previous lender should have forwarded those payments to Futura. I suggest that you contact both the previous lender and Futura directly to resolve this rather than working through the collection agency. Of course, if you weren't making payments to anyone, that explains why your account is now in Collections. Good luck!

Futura took over my student loan from Tuition Options. I threw out the first few statements because I didn't realize it or recognize their name and I finally called them when I received a past due notice. I did not have any problems with Futura when I called and they were more than happy to answer my questions. I have to admit that when I finally went through my mail from Tuition Options, I had received notice about the switch. Because I had previously set up an auto-pay with Tuition Options I wasn't past due on any payments, it just took Tuition Options a while to forward the money to Futura. I changed my auto-pay to the appropriate name/address and am not having any problems at all. The phone number I have for them is 888-889-8552, but like the poster above, I do not have an email address or website for them.

Was told my student loan was taken over by futura, I made my last payment to my previous loan company in April for the month of May.  Was then contacted by futura saying they need a payment for May.  I explaned to them that I made the payment to my previous company for that month.  They replied ok, it probably hasn't been updated in the system yet.  It is now October, and Im still receiving calls about the missing payment saying I need to make it, even though I have faxed over proof the money was received and credited out by them.  I'll pay what I owe, but will never pay extra for that may payment.

Hi,
Just like all the post above, I received repeated calls from the number 888-889-8552, since I did not know the number; I did not answer the calls or their messages on my v-mail.  I did not know who Futura was from Adam.  I received a letter just stating current account balance, Past Due Balance, Current amount due and the Due Date. NOT once did the letter or calls state what the account information reference was from or what it was reference too. Why would I want to pay money without identifying information because a letter states it? Money is so tight in this horrible economy.  I did not acknowledge the communication from Futura Financing for a long time.  I received a call from a man who was kind and took time to identify himself and company and the purpose. He also works with my one only so far payment to try to prevent it from going to collections. He stated collections would want the lump sum due, that they could garnish my pay for payments.   I need to research for a law to protect the consumer for when an account is purchase from the original lender the purchase should be required to notify the consumer of the  transaction.
I do not know what will happen if I am unable to meet the payments.

Funny you say this because this company bought my student loan from another company and they're charging me late fees when I've been paying ahead of time and on time! I hope I wont have much trouble talking to them and getting ahold of someone there.

That?s funny because just like you all I received a letter in the mail stating I owe all this money to Futura Financing and when I tried to call them the phone does not even ring. Also I have tried numerous times to find a website for these people and no luck. What should I do in a situation like this? Is this company a scam?

This company has tried to cheat me out of my money by charging me twice for payments I have already made.  As long as these types of behaviors are continued Futura will receive no payments from me.
Thank You

Left message asking me to call him back, says he's from Futura Financing... these people recently bought out one of my student loans but cannot be bothered to answer any of my questions like whether or not my recent payments were applied to the account with them, or how I pay my installments now. Account is still in good standing (But wont stay that way if they refuse to answer my questions, unfortunately).  So not a collector... at least in this case.

just received a bill today!  I'm in the same situation. The letter states: If you are delinquent, FUTURA is resolving this on a one-time basis. 888-889-8552 is the only contact available.

The caller is unknown. , but left a msg to call Alizar Jones at ext 1033. Didn't say what it was regarding or name of company, but that it was imperative that I give him a call asap.  I'd like to know who it is before I call.  No doubt it is a creditor. In most cases, the collectors are very nasty and won't listen to anything you have to say if you're not making a payment, therefore, I don't call them back or answer their calls, unless and until I can pay the bill off.  These are tough times for everyone. Only the big company are making it as they're still adding late charges, over the limit charges (because the late charges have taken you over the limit) and then they increase the interest rate because you're late and/or over the limit three months in a row.  You can't win for losing, so I suggest that you take care of yourself and hopefully we can all get through this... alive. :-)  Have a great day and try not to stress too much. You can only do what you can do, and I can tell you all right now, I am going to pay my housing/living (or should I say surviving) bills (mortgage, rent, gas & electric, water) first, and then I will try to pay all others.  It's all about surviving and getting through these hard times. Forget about the credit rating for now... credit (along with the greedy, uncaring Bush administration) is what got most of us into the jam we're in right now. And now, in the state of California, they're trying to make the everyday working folks pay for all of their mistakes.  Tax for this, tax for that (under the guise of increased transportation costs, etc - because they said they wouldn't raise taxes!)Pretty soon, I won't be able to afford the transportation costs in order to get to work!  And now they are taking away all the social & educational programs.  The same programs that we're paying for are being eliminated but they still keep asking me for money-- correction, taking my money.  They don't ask, they just change the rules in the middle of the game and tack on additional fees whenever they feel like it (ex: car registration fees have almost doubled - what are you going to do about it? Drive around in an unregistered car?? You have no choice but to pay the fees.  And now, state income taxes have increased. What are you going to do, quit your job?) Most of us have lost a job, income and/or have not had a raise in a couple of years. Everything is going up (food, housing, transportation, gas, water, PG&E car registration fees) except our salaries!!! Well I'm mad as hell and don't want to take it anymore.  How about you? If so, reply to me and we can start telling the bill collectors and the governor where to stick it.
Sorry, didn't mean to use this as forum to vent, but I've had it with these folks!
