Oh yeah, refused to leave message, said they will call back.  What legit business doesn't leave a message?

This number called my receptionist service this morning claiming to be IT Dove Connections.  A Google search revealed no information about a company named IT Dove Connections.  I'm thinking scam or telemarketing firm.  Glad I refused the call.

Calls around my lunch hour from work, sometimes i am at home to answer, sometimes im not.  When I pickup, I get nothing and then I hear a click from the call disconecting.  Same call comes from 8888990131

We have received calls from 888-899-0130 almost everyday for the last 2 weeks. When the phone is picked up the other end goes dead. Except one time when someone asked for me, When told I was not there they hung up. This has me wondering.

I keep receiving calls from this number so I called it back.

After two rings, the call went to a fax machine.  The fax machine picked up, then dropped the call when it heard nothing.

Here is my guess.  Some bulk advertising faxer (illegal, I believe) sends their bulk faxes with this number in the caller ID data.  If you pick up, the bulk fax machine on the other end decides you are not a fax, and then drops the call.  Hence no one talks.  This still leaves the mysterious "There's no-one home" comment.

This number does not appear to be registered to a business with an address.  I think it is intentional on their part so that you can't check them out before returning the call.  

Most likely this number belongs to a telemarketing company.  They may be using some sort of automatic dialing computer system that waits until you have spoken before they connect the call to the next available telemarketer.  

That is one explaination as to the "no one there" effect as is probably a delay due to the automatic dialing computer transferring the call to the next available telemarketer.

They should pass a law that requires the telephone companies to block these numbers if we request it.

I've been getting calls everyday for 2 weeks now. Just now they called 3 times in a row. I picked up a couple of times last week but no one is there.

I keep getting them too...it is driving me nuts!!!  I try to answer but no one is ever there.

we have gotten several calls from this number in a row.   When we call it back, we get a fax tone.   We are going to go to FTC.gov and report it because our number is onn the       do not call list (you need the name OR number of the company to report them)

It is Internet Retailer magazine trying to renew your free subscription. I finally answered after getting calls every day at 10am for a while.

Been getting called every morning around 10 AM PST from 888-899-0130 for the past month or so.  I have tried to call back, but no answer.

I get this call everyday.  No one is there.  It is very annoying.

Got a call from this number and they are calling everyday but they hang up when I answer the phone.

I got a call and they actually left an unintentional voice mail.  I had to turn the sound up really loud but I could hear a female voice whisper:  "There's no one home," like she was mouthing it to someone next to her.

Very odd.
