text message unwanted

I also rec'd the same type of message for an Admin position.  I'm almost positive they got my # from the dozens of jobs that I've been applying for.    Unintentionally, I think I sent a resume for a job on craigslist and my personal information was included.  They very well could have gotten my cell from that.

Word of caution: Never send a prospective employer your resume with your address/email/phone# included in the resume header!  I know from experience!

I got the same text stating that they reviewed my application for a receptionist position, and that I should call the 888-907-0908 number. The text also came from the 347-426-7308 number. I found that it was strange, so I didn't call the number, instead, I came on here to research it.

I have been applying to jobs on Craigslist. So that is where they got my info from.

Got one to thanks to this I did not call, I thought something had to be up because they sent a text.  I am fairly sure that is not legal!

Thanks for leaving the note here, Rich. Mine said it was for 'Loss Prevention', I've no idea how they got my number. I'm glad Rich called, found out and left the information here though!

Yep, same thing happened to me! A text saying to call 888-907-0908. Its BS.... Man I hate that, people are trying to find jobs here, who has time for this nonsense! People playing with your emotions!! ha lol

I just got a text from a number 3122260292 telling me to call 8889070908 about a receptionist position I applied for.  I did not call either of these numbers, too suspicious that they text me and did not leave me a voicemail with a company name, as well as a contact name and title.

I received a text message "Hi Richard, I just reviewed your application for the Clerical position you applied for.  Please call me at 888-907-0908"  I called and a Ms Brooks of the Employment Network answered right away and knew who I was.  She verified some basic information and stated that I would receive an email tomorrow with company specifics, and to click on a link of the position that I applied for.  This limk will then take me to there data base to apply for other jobs post.  Stuck me kind of odd.  She then tried to up sell me on getting information to go back to school.
