Debt Collector
Have been receiving calls with the calling leaving a message about contacting them due to a complaint. Also says that they are trying to serve me papers. I know they are bill collectors so I don't answer them and if by accident I do answer I simply state that I refuse to discuss this matter with them. Here's the  deal people. Those like me that have made some bad financial decisions and have had a charge off of some credit account. That debt is gone! The original creditor charged it off on their federal taxes. They can no longer come after you for this debt. Thats why they give these old accounts to "debt collectors". They make a deal to get a percentage of whatever they can colllect. Save your money and contest this old debt yourself with your credit report. They have to remove it if its been charged off or exceeds the time limit. REMEMBER .....YOU DIDN'T MAKE A DEAL WITH THE BILL COLLECTOR AND THEY CAN ONLY ACT AS YOUR AGENT IF YOU SPEAK WITH THEM.

Received a call from a blocked number when I answered the woman told me she was with legal claims services calling to let me know she had court papers to serve me but she hates this part of her job and maybe I could reach the attorney and settle it before she has to come out (she was sweet as pie) gave me 888-972-9945. When I called this number no one identifies the company name but I gave them the process number I was given and was told that the attorney working on that case was in court but his assistant would be happy to help me when I informed him that I had never been notified by mail concerning this debt he told me that is just a courtesy when I responded that I am pretty sure following the fair debt collection act section 806 is law not courtesy he hung up on me.  Called my state department of consumer affairs and found out they are not even licensed in my state to practice debt collecting!  DON'T Give this scum bag company any money

Having the same problem with Mr. Ortez. Put me on hold several times to talk to the "attorney". Called work and they left a message with a co worker telling her that if I didn't call within the hour I would be served papers. First I've ever even heard of Mr. Ortez or his company. Questioned the validity of the amount and he couldn't give me any breakdown, told me to contact original creditor. Told him that was his job.

This number contacted my last place of employment claiming to be a law office trying to serve me a court summons. Caller was a Mrs. Camacough.  She also proceeding to contact my mother-in-law in search of me (a phone number I have never listed on any forms), in the message she left, she claimed "there has been a complaint placed in their office" and that I needed to return her call as soon as possible.  I've also received approx 4 blocked calls on my cell, which I'm guessing is the same company trying to reach me (as people above have described the same - they never leave a message.  I am grateful for all who have posted because I was seriously concerned.  I am appalled at the tactics this company is using!

This number called my daughters unlisted cell # and asked for me. left a message that i was to be served papers and they needed my correct address. The address they had is 3 years old, daughter did not give them new address. The scarey thing is they have a cell # that is a year old and an address that is 3 years old, have to wonder how the heck they got the cell number?

The incoming number was blocked, but the woman on the other end of the line pretended to be a processor with the state of Texas. I took the phone number down 888-972-9945. I called the number and asked the guy to validate the charges including their License last name & ID number. He then transferred me to Michael Ortiz. Of course he did not have their processor number because they are scum suckers who receive old debt and then try to collect on it. When I informed him that the debt was from 2007 and Statute of limitations were up, he just kept threatening to take me to court. I said sure.. send out your fake process server to serve me fake papers. I also called the county clerks office and asked if they had any cases in my name and of course they do not. This is just a Debt collection company who buys really old debt and tries to use scare tactics to get you to start repaying on it. Don't fall for it and know your credit history ( even if it is bad). Statute of Limitations expired 2011 for this particular one. DO NOT let them restart debt on an old debt. It will start the time clock for it all over again. Don't forget to ask them about their process server info. when they fumble, tell them to quit LYING!

knowing that don't mean a thang...People's last 4 and birthdates are used so much any more that it's almost public knowledge.  And NOBODY can be served with a summons over the phone.  That's ridiculous.
The scams are becoming almost comical ...and would be except for those poor people who fall for this stuff.

Called to claim to have a summons served upon me, from at first a block number 4 times in a row, until I answered then about a debt that I owed from 2004 until it was charged off in 2008 but couldn't provide me with verification of the debt, told me that i would have to appear in court to dispute anything or to receive verification of the debt. The total debt is $971.68.  If I did owe that debt from over 9 years ago, The Mr. Michael Ortez on the phone who responded when I finally answered the block call, should have been able to provide me with any information about why I was never notified via mail about an unpaid debt.  He couldn't provide me with any information and told me that I should be able to receive the information at court.   He wanted me to set up a payment plan without verification of the debt and who this company is.  You can't call someone and theatren then with court and garnessment without proof of debt.  I will be looking into this matter further.   I know it's against the law to theatren someone with court just to get paid on debt you know nothing about.
