I also was now abused and harrased over the phone by a rude telemarketer. I think a class action law suit would be great as no complany should be doing this. She said they're company was called Canread or Canreid Services from Winnipeg. They also offered me 50 bonus airmiles for answering a few calls. This is while I was working in a meeting and may have cost me $$. I wish I hadnt picked up that phone call. When I called the number back I could only leave a message or press 1 to be taken off their automatic dialer, but she also said it takes 30 days.

That number keeps calling me too. No one answers when I pick up.

They ask personal questions, and they want credit card info. They hung up on me when I wouldn't give it to them,

At my office, we've had numerous calls from this number, and when anyone picks it up they hang up. Today I actually connected with someone, who asked for someone I'd never heard of. When I said I thought they had the wrong number, they were positive it was correct. So I asked them who they were and why they were calling. The guy said he was from Can Read in Winnipeg, and our number had been selected to win 50 (I think) bonus air miles for answering 4 survey questions. I told him we were not interested, and to please stop calling. He said it would take 30 days for our phone number to be removed from their internal system, and that we would still get phone calls from them for the next month, there was nothing he could do about that. So even if you do get through to someone and ask to be removed from their list, you will still get calls for another month!

I just got a call from this number, with an actual person on the other end.   She said she was calling from a company called "Can Read" in Winnipeg, and that I had been chosen for a special promotion, then the call got disconnected.   I'm awaiting another phone call that lasts long enough to tell them to take me off the call list...

I got the same number calling me today, some guy named joyjot or something like that.
My sister picked up ans she was like some dude name joyjot and i answer they ask
if it was me, then nothing. I keep saying hello nothing answering. what the heck is this??

A class action of this type will set a major precedent for ALL Tele-marketing companies to abide by or face the consequences.  United we stand, divided we fall....prey to more of these time/resource wasting calls.

The telecomunication companies [internally referred to as "telco's"] such as Telus/Mobility [a.k.a. "Mo-bi***-ity" - it's an internal nickname], Bell, Verizon, Rogers, etc need to get off their a***s and actually do something to protect US, their customers, from such abuses of THEIR systems.  The only way the telco's will do this is if enough of us take the time to document the numbers calling, the dates and times of these calls AND whatever, if anything, is said by the caller(s) - especially if they are just "call & hang-ups".   So be vigilant, take the time to do this then after two- three days report all of your collected information to your telecommunications provider and let them know you want immediate action to be taken otherwise you will take a more serious look at other option for your complete telecommunications services being sure to indentify the number of cell phones in your family/home in addition ot your household services.  THIS will get their attention if enough of us "TAKE THE TIME" to bi*** about such matters - especially when it comes to Telus [another one] as they have consistently been losing market share ever since the CRTC opened up the flood gates to competition in the tleecommunication business.

Don't sit and bi*** STAND UP AND FIGHT PEOPLE!
