This happened to me, also.  They said they were from the .....Department of Economic Development.  Asked the same questions about moving.  When I asked where she was from at the end she said the better Business Bureau.  I pointed out that was not what she said the first time.

Now they're saying they're calling from the Better Business Bureau! "Calling to inquire if you are still looking to relocate." Reported and blocked these pig f^@+ers!

Received a call from 8897050213 says from Arizona Business Development. Asked me for the company name and do I want to relocation my business, it doesn?t make any sense.  I hang up on her. They?re not from business Development. Don?t answer they want to verify your name and phone #  so they can sale it to telemarketer

Called to verify my business address. I questioned her on the office and what the information was for. I haven't heard of them and don't give out information. She read out my address, asked me to confirm if this was my address or had I moved. I asked what department of government and she hung up. I called my cell phone provider and reported suspected fraud/blocked any third party charges. Sounded like a scam.

Received call from this number at office location of a multinational corporation. Caller stated that she was from the Colorado Department of Economic Development looking to update a business registry for the state, asking where we were going to be moving. After first finding out what kind of information she wanted, I told her that I did not want to answer these questions until I got a mailed survey or a call from a local number, and hung up as politely as possible.
I then called the actual Department of Economic Development and they do not do these type of surveys.
She called back and asked for the numbers and addresses of our other branches in the state, I told her to Google it and repeated my request for something local, and she asked for MY manager and the number of our corporate office. This time when I told her to Google it, she said she doesn't have internet access. Hung up again, she called back AGAIN 5 minutes later. I'm almost hoping she calls back again. I could always use a novel outlet to vent some frustrations.

Just got a call at our business from this number (889-705-0213). Claimed to be calling from the California Department of something or other (she talked really fast so I didn't catch the whole name) Asked if we had moved our business yet. I said yes, and she asked when. I told her that information was not relevant to her and hung up. The number immediately called me back and I hung up on it without answering. Googled and found out it's a scam.

Wanted to know if we found a space to rent for our move.  We aren't moving.  Her phone kept cutting in and out, told her I could barely hear and she hung up.

my employer got a call. the caller hung up before I finished my greeting.

The best thing to do is not answer the phone to obvious non-customers. After a few years they call only once and do not leave a message. Since I am a residence, I never answer the phone and let the answering machine do it.

She called me saying she was calling from the State of California - Business Development Office and began asking questions. I asked her if she worked for the State and she said that she did. With more questions put to her, she hung up.  They are likely scammers.

I just got the samething. Oregon. I tired to block the number by forwording it to our fax line and it came up with cannot block international numbers. We have comcast and can only block 12 numbers per line all of our numbers are up to tweleve. So I started to forword them to our fax line. It seems to be slowing them down.

Have been receiving numerous calls DAILY from this number wanting information on our location, if we were moving locations, if we have a realtor and if we're non profit. I wasn't comfortable giving her, Molly Roberts (so she claims) any information and tried giving her our corporate office phone number but she actually told me she refuses to call it and will continue calling me every day until I answer her questions. She went as far as threatening me stating I'd "get in to trouble" if I didn't answer her questions. What type of company is this? Who would allow their representatives to speak to people in this manner? Entirely unprofessional, disrespectful and discurteous.

call says from Texas Business Development Office. (I have asked and they claim to be employed by the state of Texas) Asking if I have found our new location yet. Have been calling every day or every other day for a couple of weeks.

This person called my business claiming to be from the State of Oregon Business Development Center. They have called every day at the exact same time for the past two months. When I tell them we are not moving and ask them to take me off their list, the woman responds with, "Mmmmmm," and hangs up promptly. It is a woman that calls with an Asian accent that is very strong.

This is a scam.

I have received several calls from this number over the past few weeks. Always with a fake name, this time she said she was "Alice". The company she has said she was calling for varies. First she said she's from California Business Development Office. Once she found out we were not located in California she changed her story to Arizona Business Development.

I have repeatedly told her (it's the same woman every time) to remove us from her list, this time she called me "crazy". I hung up. She called back. She talked to my boss and threatened to bomb our office. We called 911 (clearly bomb threats are to be taken seriously). Then she told him she was from the Better Business Bureau and was going to come shut us down tomorrow.

These people call every day, and it interrupts business. As soon as we begin the sentence "We'd like to be taken off this list" they hang up.

Just got a call in Montreal, I didn't answer, they didn't leave a voicemail.

Been getting calls from them the last few days.  Each time they identify as a different company.  DC Business Development Office, US Statistics Service, Shermack Designs.  Each time I asked for a website for them, and they readily gave one, which was bogus each time:  www.bdo.us, etc.  They claimed to be a government agency. Always gave a fake name like Heather Johnson.

Each time they want to verify names of people here, all of whom aren't here anymore, and our address.  First it was a survey of the health of DC businesses, then it was a survey of small businesses in the area, then it was to send me catalogs. Their script must have a LOT of pages.

They're extremely rude when pushed, by the way, if you enjoy telemarketer fights.  I asked to speak to a manager and she said she was one, every time.  When I said "I'm sorry, but you're not" she got very, very offended and yelled.

Do not give out your info.  Such a scam.  A lot of companies maintain lists, and I'll give them my info, but not when they ask like this!

JUST IGNORE THIS CALLER, AS THIS PHONE NUMBER IS FOR A BOGUS RENTAL SCAM / SPAM SERVICE IN THE AREA MENTIONED ABOVE WITH AN AREA CODE 889... THEY ARE RUDE ARROGANT AND VERY IMPOLITE ONCE THEY CAN NOT SCAM YOU OF YOUR MONEY FROM YOUR PLASTIC CREDIT CARD... THEY WANTED TO RENT US A PLACE IN THE AREA BUT DID NOT KNOW WHAT LOCATION THEY WERE CALLING TOO... SO WASTE THEIR PAID LIVE AND ASK MANY QUESTIONS THEN ASK FOR THEIR HOME PHONE AND HANG-UP ON THEM AFTER YOU ASK IT...

HUGE NOTIFICATION: REPORT THEM ON HERE THEN REPORT THEM TO YOU DO NOT CALL LIST AND TO YOUR PHONE COMPANY PLUS GO AS FAR AS TO REPORT THEM TO THE POLICE ALSO !!!
